I have 18's on my 57 plate vrs.. I do believe that these came ' free ' also with the jumbo box and rear electric windows as these were previously extras that you had to pay extra for ???

I had my 4 wheel alignment done on a ' supertracker ' system 12 months ago and it transformed the way my vrs handled. .. However it did not stop the sawtoothing on the rear tyres as ive just hsd to replace them with Goodyear asymmetric 2's. Also had to have a new rear o/s suspension arm as they couldn't adjust that wheel to the correct settings as the bolt had seized up so it had to be cut out resulting in a new suspension arm costing £160 + 270 tyres + 49 alignment = Expensive set of rear tyres !

Sorry to hijack the thread, But this vrs is near enough identical stats to my vrs, mine dec 07/57 done 106k got offered 5k part x this time last year... With the way the values dropping, I am most definitely going to run it until it dies !

The ANS 610 has identical features as the 810, the only difference is the 610 has a 6 inch screen,the 810 has a 8 inch scscreen. ..

Well I hope the guy who has re-gassed my system 3 times has finally fixed it this time ! Apparently my compressor is ok and the leak was coming from the actual inlet valve where you re-gas it, I think he said the valve was sticking ? Anyway if it leaks again, its going to have a new pipe and they are £110... Lets hope its fixed !

Well I've just had a diagnostic check done on my dpf after a oil and filter change and its 9% full... So the guy said its still got plenty of life in it, my vrs is 5 and half years old and coming up for 106k...

Im going to part/ex the unit with the guy I originally bought it from for the ans 810 which is the 8 inch screen, the link I posted is the ans 510 which has only a 6.5 inch screen... My unit doesn't have pdc or climate control but the ans does have all these feature's plus steering wheel controls. I have done quite a lot of research and have been on the vw forums, to find out about these ' cheap chinese clones ' and yeah I have to agree with some of the guys on here that some of them are rubbish... But if you do your research and buy the right unit from the right place... Then you will have a great unit with the same functionality of some of the units that have already have been mentioned for a fraction of the cost...

I've had a Chinese clone in my vrs for 2 and half years with no major problems apart from it can be fiddly to use. Have now decided to part/ex for a audiosources ans 810 which sounds like a decent piece of kit, after reading some of the reviews. Yeah thanks for that, my mate has got vcds so hopefully he can give me a reading. Whst did you do when your dpf got to 122k ?

Hi guys, it’s a while since ive been on here, my vrs has been behaving itself ! {unlike last year when i lived on here }... Anyways… My dpf has done 104k and {touch wood} is giving no problems, but I was just wondering how long they last before they need replacing/removing? I don’t know whether to remove now before I get the dpf light and regen/limp mode problems or wait until this all happens before doing something…. Like I said, I have had no major dpf problems since I had the sensor changed nearly 2 and half years ago, and in that time ive only seen the dpf light on about 4 times and this was always due to being stuck in slow moving traffic for at 30+mins but I always cleared the light by driving at 60mph/2500rpm 10min routine. My 40 mile daily commute to work is down the A5, so I can drive at mostly at 60 and my vrs only drinks BP, so all this must help the regens the dpf has to make! So guys…what to do??? and why is my lettering so small ?!?! :wonder:

I hope they work... I've given up on leds sidelights after trying 3 different types, got fed-up of taking the headlight units out every couple of weeks when a error light appeared on the dashboard

Glad it's just not me then ! Had to use a hammer and screwdriver to loosen my oil cap off...

When mine did exactly the same noise, it resulted in a new turbo under warranty...

I have the same ' ticking' noise on my vrs, sounds like it's coming from behind passenger/centre dashboard. I know my climate system has a fault of some sort as I've had it re-gassed twice and it won't blow really cold. So going to have find the leak before having it re-gassed but don't know if this will also cure the ticking noise. .

How do I remove ciggy lighter so I can give it a clean? Think it needs it, it does look a bit corroded!

Well I've tried another phone charger in the car and that's stopped working as well, there is 12v but maybe too much amperage that's causing everything to blow?

Not sure if it's the fuse as nothing else as stopped working... Which fuse would it be ? Better go and have a look just in case it's cooked...

My ciggy lighter is not working with the actual lighter unit, but when I plug my usb phone charger in the blue light on the usb charger lights up but my phone doesn't charge...is there low power as the light illuminates ? Anybody got any ideas ? Many thanks guys !
