  1. They seem to have found a better replacement for it now. After the ban the initial replacements were rubbish (although a bit of old engine oil helped) l, however, the new mixes seem much more like the original.
  2. The led hut service is excellent. A point to note though is if you want the 5 year warranty there is a form on the website to fill in which requires some numbers of the bulb packaging. As for reliability out of a batch of 16, 1 failed at 18 month (replaced under warranty) and 2 failed at 26 month (no 5 year warranty then). Rest are ok at 3 years. Its annoying as you hear a capacitor pop as you turn them on and know most of the light is OK. The kitchen ones have been in 5 years with no failures, however, these are mr16 and I wonder if the lower voltage change required within the bulb is helping.
  3. Not impossible you can gave 50w mr16. There was 7 transformers in my kitchen before I switched to led (1 per bulb). If it is mr16 it just pulls out the ceramic holder. It can take a bit of force if the bulb has been in a while as the spring mechanism indents the prongs. I've had to prise one with a small screw driver before. Obviously make sure its switched off before doing this.
  4. That looks like a mr16 not a gu10. Mr16 will have a transformer in the line down to 12v.
  5. I have problems with snow on my Passat cc. Seems to build up on the radar and block the view.
  6. They can charge you up yo £10 for the footage though, and refuse if there are other people identifiable in it.
  7. Got 24k out of eagle f1s on the front of the Passat.
  8. On the mk1 octavia the original indicator relay was not powerful enough to handle a trailer load as well. When a towbar was fitted they would fit a new uprated relay as well. I believe they eventually discontinued the original relay and only sell the uprated, but may be wrong on this.
  9. Electric is only cheaper if on the right tarrifs, they need to be charged at night to make use of cheaper electric. Plus if they go large scale it will push up the price of electric. The charging stations are currently free, however, that will only last so long.
  10. The current a6 s line is actually quite a compliant ride on the standard wheels.
  11. That is very impressive mpg and tyre wear. Out of curiosity what is your main type of driving and what sort of speeds do you go at?
  12. The thing with that video is they are nice high sidewalls. Once you go to the lower profiles, higher load tyres and especially run flats it will range from a struggle to impossible with tyre levers.
  13. Well just joined up as its such good value.
  14. The HSE are very positive on dust extraction (filtered) or dust suppression now. PPE is for an exceptional task only now. Net result should be minimal dust. I would suggest the more people report it to the hse the quicker they will visit site. If they are causing serious dust in there without extraction/suppression they will be shut down there and then.
  15. I was under the impression tyre sealant was only a temporary repair but glad you got it sorted.
  16. Got 25m of 5050 60/m warm white and 25m 5050 30/m rgb in the lounge diner. In hindsight the warm white would have been sufficient in 30/m as even dimmed very low it still gives off a lot of light. Got cold white on the back of the TV. Cooker hood bulbs I replaced with 4 0.3m strips of the warm white. As its behind the glass it was running to hot, however, I got some big heatsinks for it. Most successful application to date is outside lighting on my mums stables. 5no 1m strip of 5050 cold white 60/m mounted at 45 degree above the doors kicks out a huge amount of light.
  17. If you like ships there is battleship cove. Good attraction and you wandering around a battleship is quite impressive.
  18. Bridge inspectios are yearly and will have been completed. Concrete spelling as a structure ages is not uncommon but not really detrimental to the bridge. That said they should still pay out.
  19. Its concrete spall. Not serious in the short term but a sign some attention is needed. One of these unlucky events where one second earlier it would have missed. No consolation to the op however highway's agency are generally fairly good at holding there hand up.
  20. Its where mine came from, no problems at all.
  21. Is there victim surcharge at county court? I thought it was only criminal. Court costs are fixed so Max £60 for up to £300 claim. Legal fees yes but unlikely to be awarded over £100.
  22. It's actually quite small. I can just get it in the arches of my e46 clubsport which is fairly low. A have to feed it up from the bottom but it just goes.
  23. I would strongly recommend the underbody adaptor. Its superb for wheel arches. https://www.cleanstore.co.uk/products/Product.asp?ID=3564
  24. I have the last one and its very good. However, I have bought the car nozzle (much wider jet) and 90° nozzle which is another £45.
