I was offered to have a new one fitted to the passat by VW for the bargain price of £237.68 when it failed a battery test. I suspect it is on its last legs, however, is still going 10 months later. Online price delivered was about £130 for a very good battery.

Although vw are currently denying the v6 have defeat software and I would imagine they would have thoroughly checked every engine over the last month.

The German government is more than capable of bailing out vw and the rest of Europe will do as they are told. Pretty much all Ecb loans are German government backed in any case.

All well thanks Andrew. Up to day 11 and an enjoyable read and well written, so full credit.

Ordered, looking forward to the read. I'll pass on to Sean when I'm done.

Germany will (and has the means) bail them out if required. Too many consequences of failure. May be a few state aid arguments, however, I am sure they can overcome them.

Something like this http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/networking/printservers/TPLink/TL-PS110U.html?gclid=CLf96_GB98cCFUeVGwodu5oJxw#utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=products However, the devil can be in compatibility with these items.

The main Manchester airport car parking is very good value and all on site. http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/parking/ If you are going out of t1 or t3 the t1/t3 long stay is only a few minutes walk or a regular shuttle. Booked in advance even the multi stories can be very good value.

Anyone else got a ferry booking with MyFerryLink in July?

Went MyFerry Link in January and quite liked them. The breakfast was definitely better than DFDS. -
Any plumbers - possible too high water pressure?
simonsheil replied to Exeterj's topic in The Roadside Hotel
Just ask the water company to come out and check. They are normally fairly helpful. It could be a PRV (pressure reducing valve) is not behaving probably, or one is needed. -
Have you got any links to this? Was going to shortly place an order for one.

Works out at about 0.25p per mile which would be less than a 0.5% change to my motoring costs.

Any builders specialising in concrete repairs on the site
simonsheil replied to octavia5's topic in The Roadside Hotel
If you go on there commercial site http://www.watco.co.uk/ there is an awful lot of cement repair products and epoxy paints, however, they are not cheap. That said all the products we have used from them do exactly what they say. -
Home to work can be paid just not tax free as per the op post. The 2year rule for temporary sites is only applicable up until the point you expect to be there more than 2 years, as opposed to being there for 2 years. Depending on the arrangements employers can stretch the definition a little as it saves them a little money.

An epoxy anti slip paint may be the way to go, such as http://www.floorpaintexpress.co.uk/decor-grip-decorative-anti-slip-surface.html -
The Scottish support socialism, something labour left to try and appeal to Tory voters as well as budgetary reality. Very interesting few years ahead, EU referendum, further devolution, English votes and a smaller government. All positives in my view.

It won't half costs, it will more than likely double them. The magnets are very expensive and the track tolerance is very low so more expensive to build. Further you lose compatibility with the rest of the network so can't divert if there is a problem or maintenance is needed. I don't get the fixitation on being able to travel anywhere as fast as you can.

Wax Appeal Christmas GB: In Association with ArtDeShine

I've not got around to using these yet, however when looking at the artdesicko today there is some white solids in the bottom of the bottle. I have given it a good shake but they don't seem to mix back in. Is this normal? -
Yes they are just changing our system for the new tax year. We will now get paid 45p/25p per mile for all mileage via pay slip tax and no free. They will then reduce the car allowance by the difference between the above figure and what they give us per mile. Eg. If we do 1000 miles at 20p per mile our car allowance payment reduces by £250 ((0.45-0.20)x1000) and we and the company avoid NI on the £250.
