Brilliant post Russianout. It is reassuring that you came around to a Yeti after such a long search. Quite a contrast to my experience which went from first sighting to test drive to agreeing a deal in around 10 days. Mind you, from previous car purchases I can empathise with your dealer experiences, especially VW who must send their salesmen and service staff on anti-customer service training.

I ordered mine with the dealer on 17th August (although I have a suspicion it took them a few days to get it onto the Skoda Cz system) and have just heard that the build week is 47. I am expecting delivery early December.

My 140 DSG is on order - this morning I heard the build week is #47. Ages to go! While I'm waiting though, Briskoda is a great place to indulge in a bit of vicarious SM ownership.

Just back from a long weekend in Czech for a wedding coupled with visits to family & friends.... saw lots of Yeti billboard ads but very few Yetis in the flesh. Excluding ones we saw on dealer forecourts we counted only 4 in total on the road. There is also one on display at Prague airport (right opposite passport control!) Felicias / Fabias / Octavias / Superbs on the other hand - 10 a penny!

The Yeti isn't explicitly listed as a vehicle but it looks like it should work.

My experience was similar... DtD discount was £2800, I achieved just shy of £2500 at Citygate - for a factory order to the spec i want. Maybe I'm too soft but I didn't think chasing after the extra £300 was worth the hassle of going via a broker.

Well, I don't expect to do much actual off-road driving... and surely the ground clearance is good enough to cope with all but serious rough stuff? Might be time to revise my order though if I have dropped a proverbial... any more info available?

Hmm, that colour doesn't quite do it for me... mind you, there's nothing wrong with being BOLD - I once had a bright yellow Fiat Coupe and it was FAB!

I am planning to order a SM in the next week or so. Has anyone been successful in securing a dealer discount? Stron, I hope you don't mind me tagging onto your intro with mine. I am looking at ordering a 140CR DSG Elegance in Muscovado / Gobi. I'd like to order a sunroof but I gather that may mean an excessive wait... ah well will have to content myself to just adding the tyre pressure monitor. My current car is a somewhat tasteless white BMW 320i Convertable, a very competent but rather unlovable thing. Switching from a convertable to a Crossover / SUV is something of a jump but I've been hooked by the chunky good looks of the Yeti. Plus my wife is from Czech; she is very proud of her heritage and I may even get some brownie points from the in-laws! Great to read all your insights.
