  1. Nice one. Lead-times in Bulgaria are obviously shorter than the UK
  2. Yeah, creature comforts seem to gain importance with age eh?
  3. Interesting that you've chosen to swap a Tiguan for a Yeti... don't let the VAG higher ups know or else they'll be shutting Skoda down!
  4. Heated seats are always the first option I tick... life is too short to have a cold butt on a winter's morning!
  5. Nice colour / nice spec... great choice sir!!! Not many Yeti's in Jersey I bet.
  6. They're like buses, Skoda Yetis..... you don't see one for ages and then 3 come along at once... Enjoy Fluffy!
  7. Skoda may not be a "premium brand", but it seems I am one of many moving away from the likes of BMW, Merc, Audi etc. on the grounds that their products are no longer sufficiently better (or in some cases aren't better at all) to justify the extra price tag. Over time I think the "premium" / "mainstream" distinction will blur as car-makers outside the German 3 catch up.
  8. I agree about the black roof rails... I switched from silver to black when I changed paint colour from black to white...
  9. My current car is similar - a 3 year old white 320i convertable with grey leather. My problem with the beemer is that it is just too big / heavy. The new Yeti is a month or so from rolling off the production line! It certainly says something about Skoda's image rehabilitation that we're talking about their cars and BMW's in the same breath.
  10. That's the clincher for me too, not having to fiddle about with lens converters every time we go overseas will be fab. Per previous post, why isn't LED technology up to acting as main headlights?
  11. It does look good, I hope you have fun getting acquainted with your new motor. I too have ordered candy white... but with the black interior (to my taste preferable, but each to their own!).. I would have loved the sunroof though.
  12. The main sites are all great - old town square, charles bridge, castle - but my advice is to wander a little, especially around Petrin Park, Mala Strana, the areas around the old town etc. The best eateries are also away from heavily touristed areas. Stick with beer - the wine is mostly gash - Pilsner Urquell is the best but Kozel, Krakonos & Primator are all good (avoid Staropramen!). The Czechs are the largest per capita consumers of beer in the world so beer IS culture there!
  13. I also went over to Czech for 5 days the week before last. I saw no more than a handful the whole time - which included 3 days with my wife's family near the Polish border (120 miles drive from Prague). We were with friends, who were beginning to think the Yeti really is mythical until we saw the one in departures at the airport!
  14. I spent 5 days in Czech the week before last - including 3 days with my wife's family close to the Polish border and 2 days in Prague. I saw no more than a handful the whole time!
  15. Congrat.s, looks great - just checking, it came supplied with the sunroof???
  16. Spot on. Sometimes, even in the car insurance minefield, the best policy is to "ask for forgiveness, rather than ask for permission". Use your own judgement & common sense because you can be sure that the call centre staff won't. Imagine the scenario; you have (safer) winter tyres, have an accident, and the insurer cites it as a reason not to accept a claim? Can't see it happening myself.
  17. So why don't Skoda put (small) KMH graduations on the main speedo? That is how most car companies comply with these reg.s.
  18. We have some very good friends who live just up the road from you in Honley - will be one of my first trips when the Yeti arrives in December. Look out for a white Elegance being driven by an idiot with a very broad grin...
  19. Looks good in green! I wonder how they can justify splashing out for Elegance trim?
  20. Non powered for me too - Trek 6700 w/road tyres - for my 10 mile e/w commute. I took my CBT a few years ago and one day I will do my Direct Access!!!
  21. Many years ago I worked for the Production Control (i.e. scheduling) department at the Nissan factory in Sunderland. I imagine that the cars will largely be built by order date, but parts availability may be a factor; e.g. if a particular engine is in short supply it will be rationed. I doubt that model / colour makes any difference; they will paint the body shells in small batches but then send them down the production line "mixed up" by colour/model (typically to balance workload). I gather that Skoda "batch" the production of RHD cars and only produce on a weekly basis (Tuesdays I have heard). I suspect that country of destination will also be a factor; some markets are less tolerant of long lead times than others!!
  22. if you live in a decent sized town / city you could always sign up for a car club - e.g. citycar, zipcar - while you are waiting ??? http://www.carplus.org.uk/car-clubs/find-a-car-club-car/
  23. It's always interesting to see pictures of peoples SMs (keep 'em coming!!). I can't say I'm a fan of the Gobi interior, but the Tangerine looks really terrific..
