I can heartily recommend Citygate having bought my Yeti from them (ordered Aug '10 / delivered Jan '11). They were able to get pretty close to the Drive The Deal price and were courteous throughout the rather protracted 5 month wait from order to delivery. The collection experience was also painless. I haven't yet had any experience with their Servicing - will report back when I do.

Ready to order now, help please

It is all a matter of personal taste I guess... for me the annas / heated screen / 3 spoke wheel / soundsystem / park assist options aren't worth the extra cost. IMHO though, the silver roof rails are very colour dependent - if I had gone for a darker colour I would have specced them. -
I swapped a 2007 BMW 320i convertable for my Yeti and haven't regretted it for a moment... that said it is winter and come the spring I just may start missing that folding hardtop!

Johann - I trust that since your post, you have returned home and scratched that itch (itched that scratch?)... I must say that I felt the need to sit in the SM after work today. Sad? Nah - just part of being a Yeti owner!

I have to say there are a couple of areas where the Yeti doesn't compare well to my last car. The tailgate is a bit tinny, the bonnet support likewise, there is no passenger visible clock and the cupholders are pretty useless. That said these are all pretty minor (& my last car had a sticker price of £30k not £20k so the comparison is not really fair). In all things that matter most to me - how it drives, its comfort, its refinement, its practicality and its looks - it is a winner. So much so in fact that my Mrs & I are regularly fighting for who gets to drive! I don't have a Satnav so can't comment on that but the points about wind noise & wing mirrors don't strike a chord here.

I gotta say I love them! Not sure why they lowered the suspension but the wheels / bumpers / dash / leather all look great imho -

Ha! I was on foot - would have waved but for the fact I was with work sorts

Citygate of Colindale - NW London - 7 miles from me. Very obliging they have been too.

Just seen on Skoda UK website, a press event for all Skoda 4x4 vehicles:

Yep, love the colour (is white a colour?) - it is very striking ... let's see how clean we can keep it I can't really justify winters here - although they'd come in handy for trips to Cz. btw - our choice of 2-wheeled transport is similar too - I ride a hardtail Trek 6700.

Mrs YY and I picked our our lovely gleeming white Yeti last night. Some piccies: http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/660220602

So let me get my head round this, you spend 2 weeks in Austria with your Yeti and all you post are pictures of mountains? None of your SM? Tsk tsk.
-
First of all congratulations on your new car coming on Thursday. Coincidentally, I am also due to pick up my new Yeti this Thursday. Like you I wanted to pay part cash / part debit card but my dealer is not willing to accept cash above £1000, so that will have to do. He isn't however charging me a tenner to do so!

Is Yeti mania common among older males?

It seems the one little "dig" on TG tonite was the average age of Yeti owners. -
(somewhat belatedly)... I saw your 900000 reg Steel Grey Yeti driving past Churchill Place in Canary Wharf just before Xmas... hope you're having a lovely time in Bulgaria!
-
I was expecting them to give the Yeti the same treatment they famously gave the Toyota HiLux a few years back (submerssion in Severn Estuary etc.). That certainly did Toyota's reputation no harm...

The missus is now REALLY looking forward to getting the new SM - hopefully this week.
-
blimey, blink & you'd miss it... some spot!

I had the loan of an Impreza Turbo for a few months around the same time... wasn't used to driving anything as fast and got done by the same camera (top of Scotts Hill in Rickmansworth) twice in less than 3 months... d'oh!!!

44 male - would rather like to retire but lifestyle / mortgage / wife prohibit that just yet. I am exploring my "inner Victor Meldrew" in anticipation though... -
I believe Drive The Deal have a pretty good track record. If you'd rather go to a dealer you know / trust - e.g. James @ Allams has loads of fans on here - you can always print off the DtD quote and see how close they can get. In my case, I got £2500 dealer discount which was within £300 of the DtD price - I went with my local dealer Citygate.
