I had one on my old Mk1 and like Ray it worked in just about and strength of daylight. Kept the car nearly at the same temp as outside, much better than the normal greenhouse heat you get in a parked car.

I'll jump in here as someone who works for a software company. These things are available simply because people steal them and make them available. Take a look at the case the disk came in and you will see that it clearly lays out your rights to use the product, those rights do not include giving it away to other people. As to how the dealer loads multiple copies it may well be that they pay for a bulk licensing deal, in the same way our larger customers only get one DVD but are licensed to load it multiple times.

Having had a small child open the door while the car was in motion on a crappy old Astra with child locks that had slipped off over time I'd say get yours turned on now and check them regularly to make sure they stay on. I was lucky that the door shut itself against the wind and I was able to stop immediately, but it was still utterly terrifying.

As someone said before the early ones only worked with 2 gig cards. Once the car will play directly from the card it is very simple to copy the tracks/albums/folders onto the car, just press the little icon on the screen next to the track/album/folder you want and select COPY from the menu that pops up. I burnt my collection onto a few DVD's (as MP3s) and copied them from there onto the HDD using the same method. I have mine stored in folders as Artist \ Album \ Track. So I can find and play stuff. To get the mix working properly you have to have a track in the root folder, so I have one short track not in any folder at all. When I want to mix the whole HDD (which is what I do most of the time) I simply select this single track, let it start playing and then hit mix. The system will then go off and play something at random.

Hi All, I think the auto parking has packed up on my 2008 Elegance. I hardly ever use it, but tried to a couple of days back and after it had seen the space and asked me to engage reverse it simply went backwards straight for a bit and then asked to go forwards again? It did this a couple of times before I got bored and simply parked manually. To be honest it is not something I tend to use, but it is annoying not to have it. Any ideas please before I put it in the dealers? I have a few months of warranty left.

Yep the near side mirror dips on my Superb and it did on my old Octy. It is enabled by leaving the mirror switch in L (for UK cars). I didn't see any mention of setting it up in SWMBO's new Furby manual.

Ours came with a years tax as well, on PCP.

I have mine set to a 2009 Passat and it gives me the GEO tags fine. That is the only thing I can see is different...

Same happened to us, when we ordered the car we got an estimated quote including the early return of our current car on Solutions. Then once the car was actually delivered to the dealer he then did the actual finance and the 3 years / 30,000 free servicing was added automatically. The first we knew was when we went in to collect the car and sign the finance. We ordered back in December, so yes we got the full 20% VAT off.

The dealer is Progress in Letchworth. This is the third car we've got from them and they've had all the servicing on those plus my old Superb 1 company car and the Octy I got on changing jobs. So you could say they've got a good customer :yes: Not very busy at all. It made a great 'test drive' with the long motorway cruise and all those twisty bits at the end. I just wished the car was fully run in and I could have had a better 'play'.

Picked SWMBO's new car up on Saturday, the only problem is the colour she picked. 1.2 TSI 105 DSG Elegance with heated seats (boy they get hot FAST), GSMII, Cornering fogs, headlight washers and multifunction steering wheel. Dealer gave us a full size spare, boot liner, Auto Glym Lifeshine and mud flaps when I started to wonder aloud if I could afford the payments. We ordered second week of December and could have picked it up Wednesday last week if we had taken a day off work. Nice surprise on collection was that the dealer had added 3 years free servicing to the deal when he refreshed the finance quote last week. We got the full 20% vat deal as well since we ordered last year. Payments are less than quoted on order, mainly due to paying an extra 5 months on the old car since then. Took it for a trip up to Alton Towers Sunday and have to say it runs like a dream with much less engine noise than her old 1.4 and much more power, even with taking it easy on the new engine.

I used them for my old Octy without any problems, BUT I never had to claim so cannot say what they would have been like then...

Sounds like a really bad dealer to me, must remember to never give them my business.

On my Superb II the mirror moves back up once you reach a few MPH going forwards, at the same time the parking sensor display goes from the Columbus and the radio turns itself back up.:yes:

Makes me realise how lucky I am with my dealer (Progress in Letchworth), on the one occasion I had to have my old Octy recovered they looked at it immediately it was dropped off and fixed it. They will also do minor 'take a look' stuff there and then if I call in. Also when it snapped it's alternator belt they also arranged for it to be replaced straight away at their Bedford branch where I could get it too on just the battery (joys of diesel engines). When I had a Renault Laguna I often ended up like you with a car recovered and days worth of wait for them to even take a look.

My wife has an Elegance on order, I'll post some pictures if and when we ever get it sometime in April/May. I tried and tried to talk her into another colour, but she was adamant it was what she wanted.

When I got my Mk1 Superb a few years back I spoke to Skoda themselves rather than a dealer and got a loaner for the whole weekend delivered to my door. It worked for them, I ordered an Edition100 on the Monday morning. Like I say this was a few years back, so not sure that they would still do something like this?

Thanks for the link Carl, did my Oct 2008 system yesterday. Had some 'fun' burning the CD until I found a program called ImgBurn on the web. When the system first came up I had lost Navigation and Audio from my MFD menu but could still control things from the steering wheel buttons. I then did a <>i reboot and they came back, along with what looked like a greyed out bluetooth icon in the Media screen of the Columbus, but when I went back to the car later the bluetooth icon had gone and I cannot see how to get it back in any of the menus? Does anyone have a link to an upgraded user guide that covers the features that are new with this release?

Your dealer should have given you a DVD with the car, it sounds like they didn't so you should be able to get a V7 disk from them for free. Otherwise it is a rather expensive purchase.

Ordered the wife an Elegance 1.2 105 DSG on Dec 11th. Called today to add heated seats, cornering fog lights and headlight washers. Got told they have a build week of the second week of April.

I was going to post about the same issue, nice to see that a few of us are having it and it is probably weather related. My drivers side has done it a few times and both sides did it Sunday when it was really cold. I guess we wait until it warms up and see if the problem disappears before bothering our dealers.

You'll need to organise into folders, but be aware that the 'mix' function only mixes the current folder and any sub folders it will not go up the tree. I have mine in folders by artist and then sub folders for each album. I also have a single short track in the root folder so that I can mix the whole 12GB and to be honest that is what it usually does. If I want the equivalent of a play-list then I copy the tracks I want onto a SD card on the PC and then stick that in the front.

I have to say I've not noticed this in my CR170 manual and I too spend large ammounts of time on the motorways at about 2000rpm. I'll be keeping an ear out on a run up to Manchester at the weekend now. If I notice anything I'll be sure to report back.
