New battery time, recommendations?
I noticed that my stop/start packed up several months before I replaced the battery. It was obviously not good enough to power it but still ok for everyday use and starting. As soon as the battery was replaced stop/start worked again as normal.

Electric tailgate problem
It's not even a reasonable profit. The general guide 18 months ago from Skoda was £700 a pair plus £300 for fitting and coding etc. I will have to bite the bullet and give the copy ones a go at some point.

Electric tailgate problem
Plenty on ebay at £250 ish a pair. Not been brave enough to try them yet.

Superb owners 2016 -> some thoughts please
I'm in a similar vein to Gammy above, bought my 2016 2.0tdi in Sep 2019 for £9k with 103k on the clock. VWFS car from new which had 1 owner/driver and had been used by a photocopier company from Kent. Condition was pretty much spot on other a few stone chips and the odd mark. Water pump failed in June 2020 on it's 4th birthday - new cambelt and pump Electric boot struts packed up in March 2021 and I've not changed them yet - will probably swap them for some cheaper Chinese copies at some point Battery replaced this week £250!!! At the least the stop/start works again now Other than that, just a pair of front tyres and rear brake pads and oil/filters etc. Current mileage 137k

New SIII owner with a couple of questions.
Mine was an ex VWFS car bought from a dealer who dealt with VWFS directly. No Kessy and 3 keys. It's a 2016 model.

Superb III Power Tailgate not operating
Mine went last March and I've left it as it is for now. Genuine struts are £750 a pair, with dealer fitting and coding you are looking at £1,000. Copies are £250 a pair on ebay.

Disappointed in the citigo
I wouldn't worry too much about a noisy clutch release bearing. My daughter bought her Citigo in April 2017 from a main dealer with just under 50k on it and one owner. It was noisy then and it's still noisy now, but it doesn't affect the running at all.

Power Tailgate Fault
Skoda are £351 per strut I think. I've tried a few dealers/suppliers on line and all are the same price.

Power Tailgate Fault
OEM Part Number 3V9827851B 3V9 827 851 B 3V9827852B 3V9 827 852 B Part numbers from ebay listings for Superb 3 combi. All seem to have 2 year warranty and are roughly £220 from Hong Kong and £260 from Germany. Not sure what duty would be charged in addition though?

Power Tailgate Fault
Nick, I've got the same problem and have had it for about 6 months now. Just not got round to biting the bullet and getting it fixed. I've had a couple of garages look at it and other than saying it's knackered they can't tell what exactly has gone wrong. I've seen a couple of other threads saying that Skoda will replace the struts for about £1,000 with fitting and vat (the genuine struts are £700 a pair) but you can get them on Ebay for around £260 a pair.

Service questions
Yep it's definitely pot luck but I think this shower have that main dealer mentality where they try to get you to have jobs done that don't need doing. Another one I forgot was the osf tyre was marked as being on 2.7mm on the service. I checked when I got home and it was no where near the 3mm wear markers. It's still ok now and has passed the mot with an advisory that it was slightly worn on the inside. I've had the tracking done to sort it anyway. I think once you are out of warranty that an honest indy is the way to go
-
Service questions
Yes that's exactly what I though too. They had come as a team from an Audi dealership and set up on their own. They made no secret of the cost of buying the garage and that they needed to recoup this. Two other lads that were with the retired owner had been let go too. Shame as they were honest and nothing was too much trouble for them. I will not be returning and if anyone asks for recommendations I will tell them what I found!!

Service questions
You sometimes wonder whether it's pot luck with the service you get. Having used the same indy for 7 years, he very kindly retired late last year so when I booked my Superb in for it's service in March I wasn't aware of the change of ownership. The garage seems far more interested in telling me what it was going to cost rather than what they were going to do. I was quoted £230-£250 for full service 20k one. This was confirmed on phone as £230 when they called to say it was ready. I got there and it was £300 (£250 + vat). They also said it needs new discs and pads on back and wanted £230 for this too. I refused and said I'd leave it. I reviewed the bill and the labour charge was the same but parts were considerably dearer (more than dealer prices online). Needless to say I've found another garage, who have just done MOT, brake pads, tracking and bulb. They confirmed the discs were fine and didn't need changing.

Superb 3 2017
Had one of mine replaced last week (o/s dip). Garage charged £25 labour which was very fair as he said worst case scenario was bumper off. Bulb was £55 though!!!

Water pump
Mine failed last June on it's 4th birthday at 112k. Had the belt replaced too, false economy not to.

Electric tailgate problem
Thanks Sasha, looking on ebay there are replacements for around £250 a pair with a 2 year warranty which is a bit more palatable

Electric tailgate problem
As an update from this, car went in for service last week and as expected the gas struts are knackered as the sensors can't tell what position the tailgate is in. Having looked online, replacement struts are £700 - £750 a pair plus fitting etc which I really can't justify!! I'm sure I've seen somewhere that you can covert to manual boot struts. Does anyone have details on which ones I can use as all Superb 3 appear to be electric. Can I use Octy 3 manual boot struts and is there anything else that would need to be changed? Thanks in advance

Sasha’s Superb SportLine Plus
Glad you got it sorted in the end Sasha Shame about the FOW deal, they were great years ago but seem to have lost out since the move to the current site in the late 90's. Some nice cars in there but some very unloved ones too. Not been there lately, but most of their stock used to come from the banks and were usually less than 12 months old. On the key front,my June 2016 Superb came with 3 keys.

Electric tailgate problem
Thanks for your reply. As a bit of an update, I waited until Monday when everything had thawed out and tried it again. The boot opened and closed ok but still beeped at the top, but at least it closed straight away and automatically so I thought it may be ok. Unfortunately on Thursday night whilst out shopping I forgot and opened it accidentally. This time it opened half way and stopped and beeped and wouldn't close, so I had to do the manual close again. Car is due a service in 20 days so I'll get the garage to have a look, but I'm worried that the electric struts are knackered and I've seen on another thread that they are £700 a pair plus fitting and VAT from Skoda!!

Electric tailgate problem
Cheers for that and it has crossed my mind. At the time it was parked in a massive exposed work car park, it wasn't that it was that cold temperature wise, but the wind chill was bitter. I'll wait over the weekend and see on Monday when it's thawed to see if it's the same. It might do the trick, otherwise I'll book it in with the garage and see what they can find.
