  1. Afternoon all, opened my tailgate last night and it raised fine as usual. However when it reached full height, it beeped and then when I pressed the button it continued to beep and wouldn't close. Ended up having to manually force it closed. The beep sounded like it was coming from the boot lock area. I searched on the Octy 3 forum as they have had these a bit longer and found that some folk have micro switch issues with the boot lock. Anyone else shed any light on this? Cheers
  2. Morning all, I have the same problem with mine. I opened it last night and when it reached the top it beeped and then would not close remotely but continued to make the beeping noise which appeared to be coming from the area of the boot lock. I had to manually close the tailgate. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to rectify it? A search of the forums on the Octy 3 side suggest that it could be the micro switch in the boot lock playing up? Many thanks.
  3. I'm no where near on length of ownership or mileage and I moved onto to a Mk3 Superb about 18 months ago. I kept both my Mk2 Octavia's for 5 years each. Both are still going strong with over 200k on each according to the DVLA MOT data
  4. It may be just down to the current cold spell and all the associated use of fans, heated windscreens and mirrors etc that's just keeping the battery etc charged. I've noticed that my stop/start isn't cutting in much at the moment. If it's a regen, you'll notice the gear indicator telling you to change down etc.
  5. Needs to be done with the cam belt so around £500 mark in the U.K.
  6. Don't think you can use the SMF on the 2.0 engines only the 1.9's.
  7. I would agree in reporting the garage, that is seriously rotten and no way that has happened in 8 months. I would be asking your local trusted garage to give it a full check over as you might not be so lucky next time.
  8. Water pump failed on mine. Losing water but no visible leaks. Garage said when they took it off and span it, the bearings were knackered and rough as hell. New pump and cam belt sorted it and no problems since.
  9. Water pump failed on mine on it's 4th birthday. 112k on the clock, so had monies worth out of it!!
  10. I paid £9,000 for mine in Sept last year. 103k and 3yrs 2mths old. 150 tdi Sel. So I think £11k is a good price, maybe the others are overpriced?
  11. Just noticed I've got a couple of rusting stone chips on the roof and one on the bonnet. Any advice for treating them and stopping them getting any worse? Thanks
  12. Yes 5 years or 140,000 miles on Superb 3. Water pump bearings failed on mine on it's 4th birthday with 112,000 on it. New pump and cam belt sorted it.
  13. I'd agree totally. My daughter paid £4,500 from main Skoda dealer for hers with 50k on and just under 4 years old. It is a 3 door so expect to pay a little more foe a 5 door but that's still well overpriced. General points to note are the transmission and rear suspension are quite noisy and she's also had to have the rear brakes sorted as the handbrake stuck on. A friend fixed it and said that it's previously had the same treatment. Good luck with finding one
  14. Recommended interval is 140k miles or 5 years I think. Just had mine changed at 4 years and 112k as the water pump bearings failed leading to a minor loss of coolant.
  15. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Mine was 4 years old on Saturday and as a present to me, it gave me the low coolant light on Saturday night. I checked and couldn't see any leaks and temp was steady at 90 degrees with no pressure in expansion tank and no sign of any oil in the water. Tried topping it a couple of times but light came back on after 6 or 7 miles. Booked it in to garage for investigation and water pump bearings had gone. They said they growled when spun. New water pump and cambelt, a year early but it's done 112k. So far so good with new parts
  16. The early 150's are not Adblue only the 190's. Mine's a June 2016 registered car and doesn't have it. I think they changed mid-late 2017 on the 150's.
