  1. After taking the test drive and driving my dads Golf 160 BHP DSG I think as people have said its going to be a new experience but a very likable one. On both cars the change was smooth and the two hands on the wheel will be interesting ! I did not try out the paddles on the test drive but will of course give them a go when i get the car, that will be something new too. Everyone generally likes the DSG and although its far removed as a car from what the first Fabia VRS was it seems to make sense that Skoda have created another 'classic niche car' but speccing in out this way with the DSG and the Small power engine. When Mark 3 comes out in years to come the forums will be full of praise for this model I am sure and there will be diehards defending the DSG as diehards are now defending the Mark I diesel. All in all its only good for Skoda as a brand.
  2. Glad you appear to have it sorted and glad the dealer reacted quickly. Hope it all turns up on time for you and gets done quickly.
  3. Maybe just a one off electrical gremlin. Keep us posted if any more weirdness. Good luck
  4. cool sounds like i made a good choice ordering the sat nav. I thought it was a bargain at £ 500 less the VAT !
  5. Congratulations hope it's worth the wait. Pictures please when u get a chance.
  6. 98 Ron appears to be what's needed. I have ordered the sat nav but not sure re post codes I thought the price was good and just went for it. How's longs your wait ?
  7. Congrats, keep us posted on the build week/delivery, hopefully they start coming through faster....
  8. Many congrats. How come 4 weeks ? Thats a short period ! Lucky you. Keep us posted
  9. Looks Good. Excuse the ignorance but is the white some factory protection ? Enjoy the car.
  10. Many congratulations. How long was the wait in the end ? Photos please when you can.
  11. Kitchens - could point you in the direction of where i ordered the car but where are you in the country ? Mine was from West Worthing Motors in Sussex. (i dont live there but had a recommendation)
  12. I normally bite the bullet and have it serviced with a dealer whilst in warranty. I am no mechanic but feel this is the best way to go for my cirucmstances. However I wondered what the first 3 years services are posted as in terms or cost so I can compare to the RX8 I am coming over from. I would like to think the Skoda will be cheaper over 3 years to service than the RX8 due to its Rotary engine, it has an expensive service every 3 years. If anyone can tell me prices for year 1, 2 and 3 (approx of course) that would be appreciated.
  13. Nothing on the Servicing was offered to me like this, although I, nor the dealer mentioned the subject anyway. I was too busy signing up to what I thought was a very good deal and he was too busy sorting out the order forms. Does anyone know what the costs are if not on a service plan ?
  14. There is a specific VRS Brochure which goes into more detail, then a whole range brochure which includes the VRS and the options at the end. When I ordered mine the main brochure was used for options price and availablity, i understand the revised brochure issued on 4th January 2010 reads very slightly differently on the options list, as some have been put in options avaialbe for all models now. Hope this helps.
  15. What are the dealer costs for first 3 years of fabia servicing if you go that route to keep warranty? One question I did not ask when I placed my order !
  16. Keep us posted. Hopefully the aircon will do the trick.
  17. lol Quite a few of us living through others then. Hopefully by the middle of this year there will be so many pictures of our new beasts that we bring down the server
  18. ordered some phillips extreme 100% increase bulbs. they are on back order - although will arrive way before the car I am sure. Hopefully the fitting is easy. Cheers
  19. No tips, but disappointing to hear. Is everything on Max ? If snow is involved then it does take longer in most cars to clear the snow, then the window but not like you have just described. Maybe a dealer visit...
