  1. Which solicitors do you have in mind, the ones I am lodged with I can't remember their name as I never hear from them!
  2. So why concentrate and quote Oxford Street when the streets which run parallel are MORE toxic.
  3. shouldn't beyond the realms of hope apart from good practice to keep clients informed of progress ( if any ) or intentions for which complete silence is pretty poor substitute
  4. Ref. to lawyers raises an interesting point. Has anyone heard from the lawyers who touted to act for owners. I " joined " one firm from whom one has heard bu..er all and only useless replies to e mails sent to them asking what is going on. Not much would seem to be situation and certainly not keeping clients informed of anything.
  5. Thanks Langers but I must say I am not taken with IMPLICATIONS especially when statements are made re other aspects which supposedly have not been adversely affected and in which NOx are not mentioned, despite being the main purpose of the exercise. I remain sceptical and non compliant at the present time.
  6. So why V A G ( Skoda ) not mention any changes to NOx emissions, which is the whole point of the exercise. Does their silence not suggest there is no improvement and the whole exercise a " front ".?
  7. I had my 3rd letter today pointing out I have not had my car done and that so far 265,000 persons ( pres. in UK ) have and that independent testing authorities have confirmed there will no negative impact on engine performance, max torque, fuel consumption, noise and CO2 emissions. I note the wording does not say "have been " , or effects at lower torque but no change to CO2 emissions, which I thought was the whole point of the exercise? So for the time being, I will sit tight. And not as though one is hearing anything from the lawyers supposedly acting on some of our behalves?.
  8. What I find surprising is there have been no posts made by persons who have had their engines dealt with by V A G and what the results have been. So far I have not had mine done bearing in mind the FEW comments that have been made on this and a similar thread eg that the changes have been detrimental ( lack of power low down rev band)
  9. Why is your ACT mental? and that you have no such trouble, suggests the originator's case is unique, but if not, as he says , why nothing done to rectify it. A juddering clutch would ordinarily suggest something wrong with engine or gearbox mountings but with " all in one " systems now, I would have thought that more unlikely, but even more so anything due to a cat?. A knocking maybe, but not a juddering.
  10. I am certainly no mechanical expert but I fail so see how a catalytical converter can make a clutch judder.
  11. which can only mean they haven't yet been able to effectively solve the problem.
  12. So Khan wants £2.5 million from V A G for a discount owners never got, not much hope I would say. Not very well thought through, does him no good.
  13. Re " Transport for London calculated the £2.5m figure from the number of owners of affected VW vehicles claiming a discount for which they were not entitled. " What is this discount ( to which we are not entitled ) I am not aware of the alleged discount, plus it would appear other manufacturers' diesels are also emitting more fumes than admitted. And no reference is made to Superbs in the Skodas referred to.
  14. If Germany bans petrol and diesel engine vehicles in 2030 it will have dire consequences, especially if the rest of the world does not follow suit. And I doubt that China and India in particular will follow what will turn out to be a ban in the whole of the E U. Design and production of traditional vehicles will move out of Europe . As far as I am aware , no mention has been made if the ban relates to vehicles allowed to be used or only manufactured after 2030, IF the former, no-one is going to buy a traditionally powered vehicle for several years before the cut off date if it can only be used for a limited number of years, and could have an effect on some potential purchasers from the year 2020 onwards. And the value of second-hand vehicles will plummet like a stone.
  15. yep. Advertisement New Law Bans Cars That Are NOT Electric By Jeff Siegel Written Tuesday, October 11, 2016 It’s enough to make a libertarian squirm. Actually, it’s enough to make any free-market advocate scream at the top of his lungs. But none of that matters to Germany’s Bundesrat, which just passed a resolution to ban the sale of internal combustion vehicles. Yes, you read that correctly: a complete ban on the sale of internal combustion vehicles. The ban wouldn’t go into effect until 2030, but folks, that’s not that far off. And as analyst Bertel Schmitt from Forbes pointed out, this goes far beyond Germany... Germany’s Bundesrat is a legislative body representing the 16 states of Germany. On its own, the resolution has no legislative effect. EU-type approval is regulated on the EU level. However, German regulations traditionally have shaped EU and UNECE regulations. Say what you want about “unity” amongst EU nations, but everybody knows that without Germany, the EU is sunk. Germany has the economic muscle to influence everything that happens in the EU, and everyone knows it. So when Germany says it’s banning the sale of internal combustion vehicles, rest assured, the EU is banning the sale of internal combustion vehicles.

  17. I am thinking of switching to petrol if/when I next change my car but the mpg figures for the 150 dsg do not look very good, certainly when compared to my current diesel estate. Any idea what mph per 1000rpm as that is also is important to me, I don't like buzzy engines. In manual my current on 18" wheels seems to be doing 37/38 mph on a flat.
  18. Has this matter all died a death now, everyone satisfied re their treatment by the Broker or Skoda UK ? as I see N C D are well back in business with the Superb 111's . So the " dispute " between Skoda and N C D seem to have been settled?.
  19. I received this e mail today from the Solicitors with whom I have registered :- " 5 October 2016 An update on the claims against the Volkswagen Group We write to update you about the recent developments in this case. Over the past few months owners of 2.0l vehicles have been contacted by their local dealerships in order to have their vehicles repaired. We understand that the German regulator recently approved the fixes to be applied to 1.2l engines and expect that owners of these vehicles will also now begin to be contacted to book their vehicle in for repair. The fixes to be applied to the 1.6l engines are yet to be approved. Volkswagen has pledged to repair all EU vehicles affected by this scandal by autumn 2017, almost a year later than they originally planned. To date, neither the German regulator nor Volkswagen has released any information as to exactly how the fixes will work. The decision as to whether to have the fix applied to your vehicle is ultimately for you to make. Having your vehicle repaired will not prevent you from being able to bring a claim for compensation. Please also bear in mind that it will not be possible to claim for any losses arising from increased fuel consumption or performance related losses if you do not have the fix applied as these losses will only begin to arise (if at all) once the vehicle has been repaired. Further, the other side may also argue that you have failed to take all reasonable steps to minimise your losses if you decide against having the fix applied to your vehicle. Volkswagen is continuing to deny that the software fitted to vehicles sold in the UK was illegal under the applicable law. They maintain that they will be able to repair the affected vehicles in the UK and so are refusing to make any compensation payments. This is in spite of the apologies made in the days and weeks following the emergence of the scandal and despite increasing pressure to pay compensation being applied upon them by EU and UK parliamentary bodies. In the US, there have been fresh allegations made against Bosch suggesting that they worked with Volkswagen to cover up the scandal. These allegations have been strongly denied by Bosch’s lawyers. We remain committed to achieving a resolution to this dispute on behalf of those affected and in doing so are actively pursuing defined categories of claims by way of test cases. We have already contacted those owners who qualify to be a test case at the moment. Finally, you are receiving this email as you have previously registered your interest with us. Please let us know if you no longer wish to receive these updates. "
  20. Shareholders now suing V A G http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/22/business/international/volkswagen-vw-investors-lawsuit-germany.html?emc=edit_ee_20160922&nl=todaysheadlines-europe&nlid=72533936&_r=0
  21. And now shareholders are bashing V A G http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/22/business/international/volkswagen-vw-investors-lawsuit-germany.html?emc=edit_ee_20160922&nl=todaysheadlines-europe&nlid=72533936&_r=0
  22. Thanks but my car has dpf and requires the software changes V A G have come up with. I am under the impression all diesels will get clobbered , the L B of Islington started the ball rolling in UK by doubling the parking Permits charges for diesel vehicles and as far as I am aware, ALL diesels, no exemption for dpf fitted ones. Other towns and cities may well follow. Diesels even when fitted with dpf's apparently have emissions far too high?
  23. Could be but could also a facesaving ploy by V A G to get diesels back into America, and they will presumably have to set up a new network of dealers to distance themselves from the scandal they are involved in under the V W banner?. Also by the time the Kardiaq is ready, there may well be more petrol engines to choose from?. Everything is conjecture at this stage
