  1. sorry mate - you won't get heated seats and the sound pack as standard in a stock vehicle unless you go for an up!. They are more expensive but people like carfile have them for a good £600 saving (they find a dealer willing to give the discount - a little way away but you can have them serviced anywhere - the database is national for servicing) and you get free insurance I think thrown in. Good luck again.
  2. Hope you get the car you want - but it is a nice problem to have! It is annoying that the Citigo doesn't come with the sound pack as standard - except the Monte but that doesn't have heated seats as standard. They should have a Mii toca or i-tech for the same money as a citigo elegence - I think i-tech has replaced toca and has darkeded alloys and similar seats to the sport but they all come with PID and sound pack as standard - no heated seats though. Good luck! Andy
  3. Neil, I think it probably depends on what she has been learning on. If she has been learning in a manual car, an automated manual like the Citigo is probably easy to adapt to - you can nudge the gear lever when you want but you don't have to use the clutch and when you don't do anything, it changes for you. If she has learned on a traditional automatic, she will be used to a creep function when parking and might be put off by the feel of it changing gears. If that is the case or if she likes a faster car, try a used Fabia 1,2tsi DSG or an older 1.6 tiptronic (the new Fabia is out in the new year). Good luck! Andy.
  4. Should have said additional knob in the middle - so three knobs across the bottom if it has nav not two. Sorry.
  5. Sounds great and look forward to the pics. The sat nav has a knob in the middle rather than two either side and it has buttons on either side one of which should have nav on it. Also the sat nav brings a smaller, thicker 'bee sting' roof antenna. Hope you enjoy. Andy.
  6. Silver Leaf does look very nice but, if you don't need the cruise control, the dark tinted rear windows and roof of the summer pack look great with red. Bonus is the heated seats and mirrors. Do they all have the standard wheels?
  7. As you suspect, 60ps models are quoted as group 1 but the higher price may push it into group 2?
  8. Hope you like the new Spaceback. Good choice I think. How does it compare?
  9. I loved my fabia tsi - great engine and a great size for parking and people/luggage. The engine in your Octavia is the same block but with 16v head and cooled exhaust manifold - the new fabia out next year will get this new gereration engine. Do get a good deal on the last of the current fabia but, if you do, you won't get a better spec for the price. If you can't consider waiting or test drive a Citigo - excellent drive and almost as roomy. Good luck. Andy
  10. SeaGoat, if you are changing things, you don't have to live with pressing the keyfob twice to open all doors if you don't want it. Andy
  11. Great choice - should look good!Did you order extras like the convenience pack with that delivery time?
  12. I think the Sport looks great and a black roof would suit it well - good luck! I have noticed people recommending wraps in the Citigo area - cheaper and can be removed if you change your mind or the next owner prefers.
  13. There have been so many conflicting reports in the motoring press it is difficult to say, but generally it has been reported that there will be a new fabia estate but no vrs.
  14. I am optimistic about the new fabia but I suspect it will share a great deal with the rapid under the skin (and in turn the polo - lightened and strenghened over fabia2 but with exteneded wheelbase and different rear axle). As indicated above, you would have to wait at least 6 months for the new fabia and it will gain the Citigo engine and new infotainment of the facelifted polo.
  15. They both look very nice cars for sure. 0% finance and free servicing are back but I don't know if these will extend to Monte Carlos. The Citigo is fun to drive and you probably don't need more - it will also be better for depreciation and obviously cost less to insure and run. I do like the way the Rapid drives though and you have all the space you need in a car that is still fairly easy to park. Try them out. The Citigo has better seats in my opinion but if you like a relaxed driving style the low-rev torque of a Rapid is more relaxing but less 'fun'.
  16. You can't go wrong at that price can you? I find the driving position very good and the aerodynamics make it very ecomomical on the motorway - about 55mpg. The steering is direct and it is nice to drive around town too. The 1.2 tsi is great and feels very strong at 1800 to 3000 rpm. The 105ps has the 6 speed gearbox but you probably have to change down less on A roads with the 85ps 5 speeder. either is fine. The rear seat is spacious and comfy and the boot is massive. Remember that very early 2013 Rapid se models were without front foglamps and cruise control. Good luck! Andy
  17. Sounds great! Thanks for writing the details of how you are finding it. You have a great car there - enjoy! Andy.
  18. Very informative review - glad you are enjoying Mario!
  19. The Citigo engine is the new generation and has had great reviews. I am not sure what needs to be done to make EU6 but the Citigo engine going into the new Polo is EU6 so any tweaks will probably follow. There was an article in Autocar this week about this engine being made by Skoda now but not sure where it was made previously! It will definitely go into the new Fabia and be EU6. Andy.
  20. Yes, I think it will look nice - better proportions and neat. Will have new engines and maybe the 'mirror link' to your smartphone like the new Polo.
  21. 0% is supposed to run out this month? You can't go wrong really - keep it in the bank, as you say. Connect has a great spec and price. I am very happy with my Toledo - drives well, great rear space and boot. You will get 3 proper seat belts in the rear. Either 1.2tsi is quick and economical but the 105 has the 6 speedo box. Great deals out there second hand too. Either way, great space n drives well. PS the Rapid/Toledo have standard curtain airbags in the rear to protect your little ones too.
  22. Good luck with the purchase. I changed my Fabia for a Toledo recently (was the cheapest Rapid/Toledo available with cruise control - 3 months old) and am very happy. Less enclosed with lower dashboard, slightly wider, amazing rear room and boot; feels sharper to steer. I have the 105ps tsi that comes with 6 speed - well worth it - and get about 48mpg, according to the computer, On long runs the better aerodynamics pay dividends with well over 50mpg. The gear stick does not interfere with my left leg on a long run with the 6 speed box either. I traded the Fabia because it will soon be replaced and lose value but, as stated above, do see what they will offer new on a PCP - I think it is a small price to pay to exceed the mileage limit. There are great deals second hand and check out Motorpoint - they have lots of diesel Rapids and Toledos at less then 10k and they offered me a decent trade-in price.
  23. There have been many comments about how good the Citigo is on the motorway. It is a small point but the 75ps Citigo revs slightly higher due to different gearing. I have always found that road noise is an issue, particularly in 'sportier' cars, at high speeds so the smaller the wheels and tyres the better in this respect - you might just stay with the 14' ones? Good luck. Andy.
  24. That Leon should be a great car - do tell us how it feels to drive etc in comparison - ride, handling? Enjoy!
  25. It will be a chain. Andy
