  1. I'll ask in here as this thread seems to be getting people's attention! What is required to fit a MFSW to a non-MFSW car? Is there an additional harness that needs to be purchased at the smae time, or is it just a matter of coding it all in? I'd ideally like to add the paddles as well. Cheers
  2. Mine has only done 4000 miles so it's still quite new, but it does about 50 on a run and 45 in mixed driving. It's not as good as I was hoping for but it beats the 18 I was getting in my spec B Legacy!
  3. I'd be interested to hear your feedback on that once it's fitted. I wonder how easily it'd plug into the back of the Amundsen
  4. I must admit, I tend to leave mine on normal for day to day driving (2.0tdi DSG). Sports mode isn't suited to a diesel engine in the slightest (why buy a diesel to change up at the redline?? it's well past the torque curve) and in Eco I find the DSG box to be quite awkward in matching the revs when it comes out of coasting mode - plus it is far, far to lazy out of junctions and roundabouts. Once or twice a month I will put it in Individual mode for a long motorway drive - everything is set to normal except the steering which I have on 'sport', it seems to help in cross-winds and is generally more suited to the straight road.
  5. I have that setup, albeit from Travall (https://www.travall.co.uk/skoda/octavia-estate-2013-) It works really well. My Lab is 33kg and fits in OK.
  6. I know you can't see much, but it doesn't look wildly different. Weird they've refreshed it after two years and not three though.
  7. Just as an update I had the car plugged in and coming home lights are entirely possible, though only in manual mode. I actually prefer this as I decide when they come on and when they don't. We couldn't get leaving home to work at all even though you can enable all the options in the menu for it. I also enabled corner fogs, dial sweep on start, fan speed lights and passenger mirror dip on reverse.
  8. Agreed. My iPhone 5 fits fine, my wife's 6 doesn't fit at all.
  9. Wow, it was delivered to work by 8am this morning. Very impressive!
  10. Thanks all, I've ordered a non VRS version. A friend of mine looked at the cars on his forecourt and said the VRS bumper slopes away more gradually but confirmed mine differed where the extra bit was fitted. Just crossing my fingers it arrives quickly, I've left it a bit last minute.
  11. Hi there, I'm looking to order a rear guards protector for the car today, but I'm just looking for advice on the correct one to order! This might sound silly, but for the Black Edition, which I think has sports bumpers(?) do i need the standard one or the VRS one? Thanks Jon
  12. Our Laguna had a similar issue with one key. It was a bit of a pain until we discovered a guy online who'd fix the key for £15. Came back as new!
  13. It sounds like it might be possible then. I guess it's certainly worth a try. I found an (old?) VCDS map, but nobody in my area seems that active on here. I might have to travel.
  14. It still gets dark even if the car doesn't know whether it's dark or not. At this time of year they'd be quite useful. I just need to find someone local willing to try it now!
  15. I've noticed this with mine as well, it's even more noticeable when the rear seats are flat. It's more evident in this car than any other car I've owned, and I've had a few!
  16. No the car doesn't have auto lights, well none I've discovered so far!
  17. Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I'm trying to find out if coming home lights are built into my Black Edition (based on the SE). I can't find an option to turn them on in the car setup menu via the satnav, so I assume it doesn't have them available? Next question then is can they be programmed in - and is there anyone in the North East (Durham) that can help? Many thanks
  18. I must admit, i'm reluctant to download anything until I notice any glaring errors on the map it's currently running. I don't think it's worth the risk (or hassle).
  19. To be honest I suspect it's only the experts in this thread that even know the BE is based on the SE. I bet most dealers wouldn't even realise. Most private buyers are taken in by looks and style, not individual specs, but let's face it even on that front the BE is well specced. I'd guarantee you if there were 5 SE's on a forecourt and 1 BE then it'd be the BE that'd go first. I take on board that an Elegance will depreciate less than an SE, but I do feel the BE is suitably different from a normal SE (let's face it, most look a bit bland), so I doubt there will be many problems shifting them, Skoda seemed to shift new ones pretty quickly!
  20. That means you'll need different springs doesn't it? I've not actually checked mine.
  21. How would one find out if the car has the gateway thing? Could the wiper stalk with buttons be retained to run duplicate, or be disabled?
  22. Good stuff! This could well mean stock is on it's way. I'll check this end.
  23. I must admit, volume control on the stereo is what I'm after most. The 11 year old £300 Clio I bought whilst I was waiting the Octavia had a brilliant setup!
