  1. Yeah I like that against the red. Had mine wrapped gloss black too. Did you get any care tips from the fitter? I hand washed my roof with a mitt and still managed to give it a light scratch. Skoda should offer a black roof as an option IMHO...as do Seat with the Leon.
  2. +1 for mats and spare wheel, Skoda will charge for an accelerator pedal soon!
  3. I've had the same problem with my Black Edition and spotted it on collection. It was fixed under warranty.
  4. I've had a VCDS session Jon and there are minimal changes that can be made due to lack of hardware/low SE spec on the Black Edition. The best mod is cornering fogs.
  5. Smoother than a melted Milky Bar Andy, tidy job that...
  6. Thanks to all on this thread who have given help and advice...not a bad effort and turned out OK I think....
  7. My Black Edition...with a few mods...thanks to Will at Vindis, Moley, Andy "The VCDS Meister" Vee and the boys on the Black Edition thread for the ideas and help. Its not a vRS but not bad!
  8. Mmmm, sounds like that could be a storyline for a Halfords Christmas advert Andy...care car, tech and safety, what more do you need?
  9. Coming from a vRS 2 FL to a Black Edition I agree that there is not a lot in terms of performance with a smooth power delivery but I have noticed a difference in the handling; it's like riding one of those rodeo things with a seat made of blancmange. Fair enough the BE is based on an SE but the steering is a bit light even in Sport mode and I can't remember having as much under steer with my old vRS. On an up side the styling is an improvement and the hatch boot is colossal. I have had dark thoughts that I should have gone for a diesel Focus ST estate.
  10. My BE has had a de badge... and a pic from the front.... I'll get some better pics after the Eibach's have been fitted tomorrow.
  11. The dealer will be as useful as a chocolate tea pot. As the MWNA says above, it's best to look up your nearest VCDS owner (there's a map on a specific forum) and they will be able to tweak more than you think. Very obliging and more knowledgeable than the dealer will ever be.
  12. Yes Gav, but its the Sports Style Pack only in silver IIRC. There's another thread going on where the OP has spec'd a black estate with silver decals. The Sports Pack with spoilers is not available in the UK.
  13. I've got the same on my BE, with 0 miles and empty tank it took £55.00 of diesel to click the nozzle.
  14. Yeh...I like it...out of the ordinary. Leave some cash spare for a permanent drive located jet washer/sprinkler system!
  15. Yes, they are correct, they can't supply the front/rear bumper spoilers although there is a Sport Pack in the accessory brochure (not available in the UK) but they can fit a bigger tail gate spoiler on the estate. If all else fails...lower it!
  16. I was looking at an Elegance before the BE came along and you can get the rear boot spoiler fitted by the dealer as an option. I had a quote for powder coating the wheels black too.
  17. Ah! A man who thinks with his head..and a fair point. As Cider was considering a BE in the first place then perhaps depreciation isn't the key driver (excuse the pun). With a basic spec apart from CC and SatNav, it's the exterior which sold it to me. Would a BE hold more of it's value over an SE with options?
  18. Don't be too downhearted Cider. If the spoilers are not much of an issue for you why don't you spec up an SE with Turini's and a few extra's? I would have done this if I had missed out on a BE. Alternatively take a 1.6 and DTUK it!
  19. I agree mate about the multi link but not sure how to visually check (?). As for the drive I can't tell coming from a vRS. It's a bit wallowy but that might be solved by firmer springs. I'm going to check on the XDS.
  20. Without the dealer PDF I wouldn't have a Scooby Gav. Does the pedal box make enough of a difference to justify £200 though?
  21. Bang on jon, Eibach have suggested different springs now. The dealer has sent me a PDF with the chassis number and a diagram of the multi link. It's worth a check. TBH it's a minefield. The springs on the Eibach Website are on a 3 week plus delivery so may have to go with an alternative Eibach product.
  22. Yeh, looking good, I like the chrome/wheel combo. I'm biased but white is the biz! Enjoy the luxury ride!
  23. You lucky chap Gav, fancied one of those myself. Would be very interested in your review. Yeh, roof wrap is not bad but could have been better. Had a nice surprise today when a dealer confirmed my car has multi link suspension and not torsion beam! Makes you wonder how these BE's were put together.
