  1. Yep, I'm sure they do, hence why I said 'I didn't believe'' and to 'ask the repair guy'. More than happy to be put right though.
  2. Did they offer any reason as to why?Feel your pain. You have specced a few things that I haven't such as Canton, Sat Nav, Park Assist and Leather, but apart from that virtually the same. Ordered mine on the 20th July, told build week 40, was brought forward to week 37, and apparently is now somewhere between Sheerness and the dealer. I believe the Pano roof has caused some major delays, and that similar issues now possibly surround KESSY. I think someone has also mentioned issues with ACC? Which possibly also knocks on to park assist. In terms of final delivery and the aim to now get a 14 plate. On the sale agreement it normally states that the sale should be completed within 10 (working days) of the car arriving at the dealers, which in the past they forced people to adhere to. However, in your case I think you have a very good case to get a 1st March delivery if your build is delayed by that much. On the plus side though, they should honour the deal you have made and then you get to drive your existing car all winter and then a new car for the spring.
  3. There is another way (I think). But i suppose the biggest question will be what is the deal you have negotiated based on? if you have got a large discount because you are a cash buyer, then you will probably lose the discount to get the 0%. But only you know what your deal is. If you don't want to blow all your stash in one go, and provided that switching your finance deal does not affect the value of the car and or trade in (apart from the £500 dealer contribution) then if you really want to buy the car outright then Skoda were doing a 50/50 deal where you pay 50% now and the remaining 50% over the following two years at 0% interest. If however you go for the 0% PCP and again the only difference will be the £500, then you will have a number of choices. first will be the deposit of up to 30%. So if your trading in and its worth more than this they will owe you some cash. Any PCP deal will be cheap (especially at 0%) as all you will be paying is (Value of the car (less any discount) less your deposit less the GFV divided by the number of months the PCP is over). Then at the end of the term pay the GFV if that is what you wish to do. I am in no way a financial advisor and this is just my view on the subject. Any decision you make is entirely your own.
  4. In answer to your question, petrol would probably seem the best choice. But if your commute is as you say, i suspect the economy will be horrendous. However, £32 k on an Octy though is a lot of money. You may find a better deal with a premium brand such as Audi or Mercedes or dare i say Jaguar even.
  5. It is highly likely that the F-35 (UK Lightning II) will be the last manned fighter aircraft to enter service with the UK military. The development of the UAV to the UCAV have been through some tremendous developments in the last 10 to 15 years.
  6. Octy VRS TDI manual with a number of options in white. If its registered it will be on an 11 plate, so easily recognisable.
  7. Well then, thats at least four us at Botley then with cars having arrived into Sheerness yesterday. That probably explains why they think they will get the cars this week if they have almost a transporter load. I know the chap I'm dealing with would like to get all the paperwork done this weekend for their September figures. Trouble is, I'm not really available.
  8. If the repair would be in the drivers direct line of sight then I didn't believe it could be repaired. As others have said, just ask the repair guy if it is possible or not. If borderline then perhaps give it a go as if it works it will be a cheaper than the excess on your insurance to replace.
  9. The view is far better down under! I'm new to Skoda purchasing my first one just 2.5 years ago, then bought another for the wife and just about to trade my Fabia VRS for a Mk III Octy VRS. I think I am here to stay
  10. No, it doesn't is the short answer. You get lane assist and rear parking sensors as standard, but not front assist. However it is available as an option.
  11. Hi there chaps, there is no sarcasm, just a bit of harmless fun. I think we will all take the p1ss out of each other on this thread and I know that no harm is meant. I have only met Auric the once, and for a Yorkshireman he is an honourable chap which I think is high praise coming from a 'southerner'. Honestly, Auric is a really good bloke, not as good looking as his lovely wife, but then I doubt any of us are that good looking. I for one know that I'm not. I know for certain that no malice was intended. Hope you have all had a good weekend
  12. Doubt it, but give it a try and see. Don't forget, if you do this try and get the tank as low as possible before changing grade. This way, if there is going to be any benefit from the higher octane fuel it will be identifiable from an earlier point in time.
  13. Brisky clock still playing up? Haven't checked recently, oh, and 1500 th post
  14. That is such a bummer for you. Have you left it with or are you to return it next week? Hope it is all sorted to your satisfaction as soon as possible.
  15. Fail We've all done it, especially when the Brisky clock was slow by seven minutes. Congratulations
  16. Good idea, I'm driving over 25,000 miles a year now so fitted mine in case of any accidents. Fortunately I haven't had to use any footage as of yet. That's what I was afraid of, think I may go back to the people who fitted it along with the new head unit I had installed earlier in the year. My bad, I should have checked first and now I have searched the original thread out I even remember reading it. Doh!Anyway, posted the link to your original thread here; http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/286697-dash-camera-fitting-for-mkiii-octavia/?hl=%2Bblackvue Thanks for taking the time to reply though.
  17. Has anyone as of yet fitted a drive recorder into a Mk III Octavia yet? I will be removing my Blackvue from the Fabia when my new Octy arrives. Currently the wires are hidden behind the A pillar panel on the passenger side and wondered if I will be able to do the same with the Octy. So if anyone has already installed one, I would be grateful for any advice. Thanks, JT
  18. No, don't do that. If you read post number one you will see why this thread started. I finally met Auric at the National meet back in July and I think it is safe to say, we are probably both mad to some degree. Hey, when your feeling board, I think it is quite good fun to come on here and just have a general bit of a laugh. So come on MaZvRSTSI, don't be a stranger, keep on posting, after all this thread is going to die in 98 days time
  19. Why is there a problem? I suppose, like any device, there is always going to be a meantime to failure, which we hope is a very long time. But unfortunately, there will always be the odd exception where one or more will fail early. What I would like to say though, I have covered almost 50,000 miles in the Fabia VRS and not had a problem with the DSG box. Some members did have problems with the mechatronic control unit in the early life of their cars, but I certainly have not heard of any recent tales of woe.
  20. Yeah, but you love us really. Metaphorically speaking of course
