  1. Yep, that's what I meant by the cost increasing exponentially beyond stage 1. The first 100bhp is relatively cheap, beyond that it gets more expensive. I'm planning on getting a Revo stage1 once my warranty has expired.
  2. £3.5k plus fitting, to go from ~200bhp > ~400bhp. That isn't too bad at all, the cost generally increases (to release extra ponies) exponentially, with tuning
  3. Another vote for roof bars and bike carriers, I've had all manner of boot mounted carries over the years and they always cause damage. I had a tow bar mounted fitted to my last car, but it cost £600 to have the tow bar fitted. I've got a pair of these fitted to my VRS estate, they're silent, I leave them on permanently http://www.thule.com/en/gb/products/carriers-and-racks/roof-racks/complete-all-in-one-racks/thule-wingbar-edge-9584-_-958400 I've also got a pair of these for our bikes http://www.thule.com/en/gb/products/carriers-and-racks/bike-carriers/roof-mounted-bike-carriers/thule-proride-591-_-591018
  4. Not recommended for a young child, plus you won't be able to use isofix.
  5. Yes it's possible but not in comfort. I have a rear facing car seat (in my Octavia) for my 2 year old daughter, there's plenty of room for one adult alongside her, two would be a squeeze.
  6. The seats are more comfortable in the MK3 but the side support isn't as good, IMO
  7. Belts require changing and can snap, chains are meant to last the life time of a car. In this case, they got it wrong
  8. It's there, just need to search. I am now replying to all of their 'good news' stories, asking when their engines will fail
  9. The car was registered late August and failed two weeks ago, just under 6 years, therefore under SOGA. ~200 post views and no Facebook likes yet? Surprising, there must be others in the same situation.
  10. The engine in my sisters car just went bang (2009 VRS, full dealer service history), cam chain tensioner failure that resulted in the chain slipping. Valves hit pistons, bill from Skoda Aldershot for new engine = £5065 Skoda UK initially offered 30% good will contribution, we've managed to bump it up to 40% with a bit of arguing. That's their final offer. I've posted on the Facebook page, if others that have experienced the same problem could like my post, it would be appreciated. https://www.facebook.com/Skoda.uk See posts to page, today's post at 19:41 BST I don't know how successful social media will be. Having spoken to CAB, our next step is to approach the supplying deal under the Sale of Good Act, citing 'not of satisfactory' Thanks!
  11. Fitted fine in my MKIII Octavia. However, our daughter grew out of the seat before she was a year old. We ended up replacing it with this seat, suitable from birth to ~4 years http://www.securatot.co.uk/BeSafe-iZi-Combi-X4-ISOfix?category_id=61 And, this accessory pack, the car seat protectors are a must http://www.securatot.co.uk/besafe-pack?category_id=65 You wouldn't believe the amount of research we did
  12. In a nut shell, yes. If you're worried about voiding your warranty, wait until it expires. That's why I intend on doing. Even with a tuning box, imagine you had an accident and weren't able to access the car in time, to remove it. Your insurance would be void and you could well end up liable.
  13. I wondered where the extra 10bhp came from, they just increased the red line a few hundred rpm.
  14. Superskoda show pics of them fitted: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-FRONT-wind-rain-deflector-set
  15. Just the spare wheel, all other features I'd want are standard.
  16. Ah yes, I try to avoid Northcamp for that very reason. I used to live there, other side of Farnborough now.
  17. Having owned both, I would say yes, although I can only speak for the petrol VRS variants. The MK2 was a great car but the MK3 is a natural evolution in all areas, the biggest area of improvement being the engine.
  18. Indeed! She's insured on my new Octavia, unfortunately
