  1. Hi there every one, just asking to get a bit more info, i have a superb (2012 1.6 tdi) (know this is the octy II Section) and the octy II also has the 1.6 TDI CR 105 engine too, when starting it sounds a bit like a siren coming from the turbo i think, and never heard it before, do you know if this noise is usual (by the way already posted this in the superb II section) but want to see what others think since its really the same engine only in a bigger car.. anyone vid is below http://s1135.photobu...e22154.mp4.html
  2. Actually it sounds a bit like a siren, at starting sounds louder in the flesh than on camera
  3. ok, its just the little squirrel noise it makes (sounds like the turbo) never noticed it before though, when it gets its service next month and ask them to verify its all okay anyways
  4. Well hello there i too am from the west of scotland, the space in the superb has more room in the back than a Merc S Class, it is the 2nd biggest car in the back in the VAG range the car beating it is the Audi A8 LWB, i have the 1.6 TDI 105 and it has plenty of power to hall it about, as for towing i would advise the 170 just to be on the safe side, you will NOT regret getting a superb and feel stupid you didn't get one sooner, it is the best car i have owned to date (i have had plenty) and it will take something special to beat it
  5. +1 here for a Velcro bag with 1 litre of castrol oil in 62 plate superb 1.6 tdi from Henrys Glasgow
  6. My superb had a bottle of 5w30 Castrol in the boot in a wee Velcro bag, think it is the dealer who supply's the car not the car itself
  7. Hi there everyone, since having the superb since January and a happy 15000 miles clocked up all has been going well, until this morning when i went out started it and it makes a whistling noise when starting whether the engine be hot or cold, sounds like the Turbo to me personally, never made this noise before on startup and it only makes it at start up, if you rev it doesn't make the noise or even under load it seems fine?? take a look at the video below and see what you think i'm stumped, and the car feels completely normal nothing like a turbo hose has came off or anything http://s1135.photobu...e22154.mp4.html
  8. New Fabia colour, just seen it on bookface there the now, called "sky blue" and it can be ordered from June onward's
  9. Well thats the superb finished its first nightshift 6 more to go.... got a load of nice people along with a lady who wasn't very very drunk but she had had a good night, she asked me if it was a limo she was in!! told her it was as i wasn't really wanting to tell her the make and model and as she wouldn't really listen anyways, done three very long hires and and clocked off and 0645 and went and done my school contract and then pay radio money and now back home, superb done well and brought the cash home and hopefully till next sunday we see a repercussion of last nights events, and then next monday back to normal dayshift
  10. yeah, i wouldn't drive a car that had a faulty airbag system, i would phone the dealer ask if you can leave the car with them untill they can get the new part and fit it, in the mean time you should get a courtesy car
  11. yep get it serviced soon, my january 2013 superb will be going in for its 1st service next month at 18,000, and i will get the timing belt changed at 50,000 due to my excessive millage being a taxi driver and all, i laughed at my cousin the other day, he always boasted how his vauxhall vectra 58 plate 1.9 CDTI, has a timing chain rather than a belt so they last much longer (supposedly last the life of the car). anyways last week the chain snapped and it wrecked the engine, thats karma for you
  12. hate the little dents, no one else notices them but you do and it bugs you to hell, hope it gets fixed soon and it doesn't den't you wallet to much either
  13. i find my S spec cloth seats very comfortable and done a 200 mile drive in them no probs, mind you the seat hasn't got lumbar adjustment but i like the standard setup anyhow, but my brother has a 12 plate s spec 1.6 tdi superb too, and he had to put a cushion on the seat as it wasn't holding him right, he got heavily padded seat covers and that done the trick for him
  14. well the E class is the only estate that can beat the estate superbs boot space.
  15. I go to an independent one, went 2 weeks ago actually and got new glasses (need driving ones and reading ones too) and i go annually cause i'm diabetic, i got my new driving glasses and the second i got in the car and put them on i seen an instant difference, i could see number plates very far away that i couldn't see before, and the reading ones work well too, i have always worn driving glasses to assist my left eye has i had a bad accident a number of years ago where some one flung a stone into my right eye and completely ruined it, i can only see shapes out of it but textures are a no no, and it is a bit wonky and never sits straight, and is always red, some people call me a pirate
  16. same for me here, i didn't need it i just swapped over my taxi insurance from my old octavia to my new superb when i got it, just used the skoda one to help the dealer tax the car quickly, was easy to to mind you
  17. supose you are right there, the superb is skoda's class leading car and if you want even more toys you have to start looking at merc,VW,BMW,audi
  18. Yes i agree, but skoda is owned by VW so you know most of the running gear is good sfuff, best to stick with the devil you know, i have been buying skodas since 2001 and i'm on my 4th now
  19. i hear slushing in my superb, only when really really hard braking at slow speeds where you can hear the diesel sloshing about the tank
  20. lovely example of a car there, new owner will be getting a good one
  21. ps. Congrats on the kid on the way, hope the wife keeps okay
  22. the best 7 seater i have seen is the Ford Galaxy lots of space in them
  23. come on Wayne, the amount of time that repair should have took was a max of a week, i think they've mucked something up and trying to buy themselves time
  24. I would actually just keep the Audi now, looks like Audrey is not coming back
