  1. I believe the title is what it is. I would like to put it back to standard if anyone is interested in a straight swap. Would have to be fairly local I think to Stourbridge West Midlands. See the pics, if you're interested let me know on here or 07862235634 My car is a 2008 automatic DSG vrs, I would imagine there's a few models that would also be compatible but don't ask me.
  2. One I did last night, if anyone's into lego minifigures, I'm on Instagram as dansbrickspics . Adult fan of lego
  3. Still none the wiser even after looking at the diagram....
  4. gday , I have purchased an auto diesel octavia mk2 vrs , it has come with a ram air filter thing on it and the parts to put it back to standard as well, however it seems to be missing a part. can anyone tell me what it is called from the photo please? sorry this is a photo i have stoled from the internet. many thanks, Dan
  5. opps sorry i missed that off the advert, ill add it now
  6. 1.9tdi 148000 miles. full service history from skoda and from awesome gti and most recently "mygarage" in stourbridge, with receipts. small folder of receipts from previous owners as well 6 speed manual, remapped by awesome gti to 172bhp as said by a previous owner from this forum, i just dont have the documentation for that. Just had a full service, and changed inner and outer tie rods, cv gaiter and roll bar bushes and had the tracking done. Had the cambelt and waterpump done at 113000 miles. MOT till june. Has the cupra splitter on the front, whiteline rear anti roll bar, bilstein 4 shocks all around, upgraded turbo (pd150) , colour coded rear parking sensors and Full leather seats, all in great condition, air con works nice, rear tinted windows,Full BCS stainless steel exhaust, Bluetooth CD player with front mount usb socket, bt, cd, aux, radio and handsfree kit wired in already., vrs mats all round plus an extra cup holder! Team heko wind deflectors all around. Car is generally in good condition, it is 11 years old so has a few small marks here and there. No swaps, i needed a bigger car so i have bought an octavia vrs mk2 dsg automatic and love it!! currently uploading more photos to photobucket but it is taking an age £2500 07862235634 trying to add photos to photobucket, what an awful website.this link should have photos of the car in it http://s1262.photobucket.com/user/superdan96/library/fabia
  7. Just wondering if anyone on here used to own this? Dan
  8. im ideally after the vrs auto dsg.but thank you anyway. ive just been to look at a much better one than i originally posted...just need to sell mine then we're good to go i think. But thank you anyway @Arrkon
  9. most of the service stamps were from skoda, just the last couple were other garages. a clutch and flywheel on a auto dsg is going to be expensive i bet. i drove it, it changed gear very smoothly and had no knocks or anything out of the ordinary, pulled well and brakes were spot on , i was actually surprised tbh. no rust visible , bonnet catch worked fine, just the paperworks let it down :(
  10. Hello, ive been to look at this recently https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-58-SKODA-OCTAVIA-2-0-VRS-DSG-CR-TDi-170-FULL-MOT-FSH-IMMACULATE-WOW-PX-SWAP/162871332373?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D69209c248e05486eafe9d7bdd700b193%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D112771710684%26itm%3D162871332373&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ad561fec3-0a84-11e8-ae95-74dbd1806b18%7Cparentrq%3A667878341610ab605f93facffffdffe8%7Ciid%3A1 given the high mileage, it says it has been fully serviced with cambelt and tensioner in the last 20, 000 miles but has no receipts to prove it. its generally in good nic, the rear spoiler has no lacquer left on it and is pretty much completely matt, and has a strange (to me) light on dash which goes out when foot is on brake, it looks like a picture of a foot in a circle? i personally think 3k is a more realistic price.... any thoughts please? Dan
  11. ive just bought this one from michalko82 (Manchester) , number 847..keepingit in the briskoda family
  12. isnt it just the starter motor need taking apart and greasing...ticking is as above...probably there is a tutorial on here somewhere
  13. Yep the scuttle panel drains were cleaned out, and i have no idea where to header tank return pipe is, but guessing the engine needs to be running to show if its working. Anyone have any idea how much the stat is from Skoda... I could actually just search that couldn't i... Dan
  14. Hi all, As is so common on these, my octavia vrs had a water leak, so you know what that means...seats out, carpet out, find leak! done https://www.flickr.com/photos/danstephenson/15854387700/ Ive sealed the grommet hole up by the polle filter as there was nothing there, ive sealed around the bonnet realease, and cleaned all the mud out of the wing and scuttle panel as shown below https://www.flickr.com/photos/danstephenson/15854385130/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/danstephenson/16015885916/ Quite a pile of mud came out! I thought that would have been enough work, but it is still leaking after pouring the hose pipe over the car for a while there is water coming in from what looks like behind the pedals on the driver side, behind a nut, as per picture below. Does anyone know where on the engine side of the car this would be coming from? https://www.flickr.com/photos/danstephenson/15422003383/ the driver side front footwell is where the water seems to be coming from Next problem...I replaced the cts on it a couple of weeks ago with the green one from skoda, as the temp gauge wasn't reading a steady 90 degrees, and the p1296 fault code came up. It still isn't, is this likely to be the thermostat? It gets to 90 eventually, seems to take a while, but will drop down to 75 when it feels like it and back to 90 again. next...the other day I stuck my foot down and at 3000 revs the car seemed to drop in power quite radically, like i had taken my foot off of the accelerator , in first and second gear. It does it occasionally, for no reason, not just when its hot or cold. Any ideas on that one? I have an ODB reader not a vagcom and the only problem that came up was the p1296, which is no longer there after replacing the cts. Any help is as always massively appreciated Dan
  15. cheers for the replies, i got there and he had 99 per cent of the work, so i didnt have to do anything. Ill enjoy fitting it when i have cured the leak for certain, for now ill just listen to the engine through the floor lol Dan
  16. Im collecting a carpet from a mk4 golf gti this evening, removing it myself. is there any tool i need that i didnt need when i removed my octy vrs one or is it all pretty much the same? Cheers Dan
  17. is this an easy job? for the average home mechanic?
  18. well i have removed my seats and sound deadening to dry out in the garage and possibly replace with black ones. I have emptied the scuttle panel and temporarily covered the grommet hole that was missing the gromet, and emptied behind the wheel archs which were pretty much full. went to the car wash to replicate rain....seems it might be coming from the rear door seals at the top, maybe. hard to tell to be honest, i may have to get the hose out! either way its fun driving without carpet or deadening! I see what happens over the next few weeks Dan
  19. I have water in the front drivers side footwell and driver side rear footwell. And i mean it is squelchy sodden wet. Can anyone explain the "water drained down the back of the wheel arch liners" problem and how that is fixed? I will get onto the grommets tomorrow and check them, pretty sure the door plastic sheet is pierced on the rear as the window fell out a while ago and had to do an emergency repair roadside on it. I may try purchase a new one, and the front door doesn't have the original speakers so that is probably pierced too. Any other ideas for this problem...bloody wet and stinks in there now! Cheers Dan
  20. 2001? Oh, the chap I brought the car from said he got them for a mk2 by mistake, maybe ill try them in my car then
  21. Can anyone tell me if these are original vrs mats, they came with my mk1 vrs as a mistake purchase, never been used , so I am going to ebay them but dont want to mis label them. Dan
  22. better to go down the route of starting to replace them all, the breathers etc. try creation motorsports, its where i got mine from.
