  2. Our local council. The Mayor of Harrogate has one, and it has his official flag on it! It is often parked outside the council offices, ready to take him on his official duties. His driver loves it too.
  3. This is an interesting read. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/242612-dpf-regen-info-based-on-20-cr-engine/
  4. ŠKODA UK We can't find the code for Mac, Robin. Does anyone know how to write Š on a Mac? 5 hours ago · Like Mats Petersson ?"Holding down the Option key, one then types the four-digit hex" The four digit hex should be 008A. I don't have a mac so can't test it. 4 hours ago · Like Mats Petersson Actually, that's wrong, the code is 0160. And on Linux you do that with Ctrl-Shift-U then 0160 + enter: Š If you want to have other codes, they can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unicode_characters
  5. Ever wondered how to have the correct S in Skoda, it should be Š, Škoda. on your keyboard hold down the ALT key and type 0138 and you get Š. So now you know how to spell out Škoda correctly. Found on Facebook, Škoda UK. OK, moderators let's have the right Š in the forum.
  6. When I ordered my Octavia in June 2011, was originally told an 8 month wait, took delivery January 2012, 7 months.
  7. Bit of good reading here, have a look at the Czech Republic and what it says at the border, took me by surprise for when I go in September: http://www.skoda.co....avel_Advice.pdf The authorities at the frontier must certify any visible damage to a vehicle entering the Czech Republic. If any damage occurs inside the country a police report must be obtained at the scene of the accident. Damaged vehicles may only be taken out of the country on production of this evidence. Interesting, have a good time, if you could make it to the caravan site where I am, a good BBQ and a beer or two!!! remember, zero alcohol limit for driving!!

My Octavia 4x4 & Caravan Life

Out and about with the Octavia and caravan.
  9. Looks like I can park up the Octavia then
  10. He is right you cannot just cut wires and join up, like the old days of scotch lock clips, not saying it will not work. Professional fitters will use a by-pass system which is suitable and cheaper, make sure it is used. I ordered factory towbar prep and dealer fit towbar, costly, and the dealer contracts out to a professional fitter to do the job anyway. If it is just for trailer road lighting should not be a problem, more work for caravan wiring and relays. It will cost you more if you want a removable ball, or just go for the fixed flange, cheaper. Tow bar prep brings the wiring from the fuse box and can bus to connectors in the rear of the car for the car socket/s wiring loam to plug in (Skoda, cost!), adjusts the ECU for towing and the rear panel is pre-cut for bar. Can’t help with dog crate and wheels, others may.
  11. Hope you did not go above your towing limit :giggle:
