Yorks /Lincs / Notts - Thorne IV - Sat 17 April
auroan replied to dieseldarren's topic in Yorkshire & Humber
I'll defo be at this now. If anything I want to have a look at Dan's Quatty and see what he's had done. -
And I thought I had a simplistic view of things
-
A very simple view from my part I accept... but why should a country who looks after its finances better... bail out another who can't ?
-
For a country in so much debt... how are they expected to service the 7.5% interest to the people buying the bonds ? Sounds like a good way of ****ing away your savings. You could almost call it a pyramid selling scheme.
-
Sounds like someone was shell bidding to bring the price of the car up in the auction. Rule of thumb I always go by; is if you get a funny feeling about a motor... walk away. As they say "there are plenty of fish in the sea".

I'll see If I can make it over. -
Do it Do it. The only thing that you'll regret when you have it is the fuel bill.
-
My comment was in reference to work done by the human not the computer.

Skoda's range topper is the 4x4 3.6 Supurb. It's not that shabby a car, but I can't see it ever getting the same plaudits as say an RS4 etc on Top Gear.

I might be a long for a butchers, as it's fairly local to me.

How exactly ? It would be one (if not two) lines in the template code.

Car and Insurance for 1 grand. is it possible?

ah, my AX with 12 months MOT won't cut the mustard then ? -
I've only done it once when buying an A4. I agreed a price based on the description being correct when I went down to pick it up. When I turned up the car was as described so paid what we had agreed. I didn't try and haggle for more off, that would have been rude. The car was in Oxford and I was in York.

MORE fuel duty !!!! Guess I'll be keeping the little AX I've just bought; as a run around instead of selling it on.

Guess what I have been test driving this afternoon :D

The interior controls/centre console are the only gripe I have with the B8 A4s. Unfortunately that gripe is enough to keep me in a B7 for a long time. IMHO Audi have taken a step backwards in the interior quality. -

Well not an S4 as A4 would have been wrong. So it I reckon it's one with stop start tech. 2.0Tdi 'e' Saloon SE executive -

Something with 4 rings ? -
I'd be seriously worried if a diesel exhaust tip got hot enough to burn the plastics in the back bumper.

Would you pay nearly £36k for a used Golf ?
auroan replied to Brimma's topic in General Automotive Chat
Blimey S3s come in cheaper than that new. -
Back when I had my A4 2.8q (which needed a fair bit of work doing to it, to bring it up to my stupid fussy stds)..... I'd finished doing a lot of work on the front end, renewing brake calipers, trackrod ends etc. After I'd put everything back together all was fine for about a week. Then suddenly the car developed a loud knocking noise from the front suspension when accelerating and braking. So with out even checking I thought.... "feck it.... I'll just order a complete set of meyle parts and have done with it... renew everything". Anyway parts arrived direct from Germany and I procede to start fitting. Whats the first thing I find ? A loose brake caliper !!!! I hadn't put a locking agent on the mounting bolts and they'd worked loose. Doh ! Long story short the 2.8q didn't stay with me long and was soon replaced by a B7 2.0tdi..... which again didn't last long as in reality I needed an estate.
