  1. I beg to differ. I find the mk1 Octy vRS Combi only just slightly less better looking (and I mean 0.000001% kind of slightly) an Sline B7 A4 Avant. Please tell me the neuro-programming comes in please ? By the way, I'm an individual and would never follow the sheeple crowd. I like what I like because I like it.... not because I'm a badge snob, fashion following, air head, sheeple.
  2. Thats your opinion, Could you tell me the actual stats you are basing it on and your source ? Also the only models in the current Audi line up that share any form of platform with VW is the A1 (polo) and the A3 (golf). Nothing else.
  3. Oh yeah... forgot about the 2.0 Petrol model.
  4. They're probably not insured. Go to www.askmid.com to check. We had the same problem when someone drove into the side of my misses polo. Being an N reg it would have been written of.....It only needed two doors which I found at my local scrappers in the colour of the car. However the guy wouldn't pay what they cost because he said he'd found two doors (totally wrong colour as well and one rusty) for less than a 1/4 of the price. Anyway he wouldn't pay up so I said fine we'll go through insurance. Then he wouldn't give us the details and when I checked on askmid.... the car he was in wasn't even his. He'd "borrowed" from his sister. So another phonecall to him saying I was phoning the police and his sister's insurance company and low and behold an envelope with cash covering the doors and an extra £100 we'd never even asked for arrived through our letterbox.
  5. It's not me saying that. It's the Car industry. :wonder: What a weak comment to an argument. If you think a TT sits in the same market segment as any SEAT or a rocco.... I might as well compare a fabia to an R8
  6. Lets compare current market segments shall we rather than what people think is a comparision and whats available in the ranges Super Mini.... Fabia, Polo, Ibiza, A1 Small Family .....Octavia, A3, Golf, Leon, Rocco Large Family/Reb mobile........Supurb, Passat Compact Exec..... A4, Exeo Large Exec .....A6 Large Luxury .....A8 Small sports...... TT Small cab.... A3, EOS, Cab.... A5 And on and on. Lets compare MY (model year) like for like shall we for once ?
  7. Since when was a TT in the same section as a rocco or any SEAT ? The TT competitors are the porche caymen, 370Z, BMW Z4. etc
  8. Just to add.... Ever since VW ag (as in VAG; not vw audi group as most people seem to think it is) bought a controlling share of Audi back in the 70s. Audi has and will always be run as a seperate entertity in the group. They are not under direct control by VW and have no direct control over any other group brand, even SEAT.
  9.:dull::rofl: lol at the fashion victim statement. Please tell me how my A4 Avant is a fashion statement. Oh and Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Just so happens the majority find Audis attractive compared to Skodas. Although I do find the Mk1 vRS Octy Combi in Red (one of my old skodas) just as good to look at as by B7 A4 Avant Sline.
  10. Rumor has it, the tech pack will eventually reach the TSI engine'd exeos by sept.
  11. Yup, new engines, multitronic auto box, LED rear lights....... and small alterations here and there. The big difference internally is that they've increased the rear leg room by altering the seats. Something the B7 A4s that the EXEO is based on suffered from.
  12. I'll be tempeted with the face lift 2.0 TSI ST Sport Tech when I come to change the A4.
  13. Actually I think she said it was Jason Plato who said the A4 drove better than the Passat ?
  14. And what ? Thats not the argument is it ?
  15. :giggle: Audi as fashion icon ? Pull the other one. Lets set something straight that you appear to be preaching to people. Firstly dealerships are FRANCHISES !! They are not owned by VAG and never will be. So lets stop calling a dealer by the brand name shall we ? Secondly not all franchised dealers are as bad as others, and not all charge WAY over the odds for the vehicles they sell. Thirdly, 95% of most "good" franchise dealer stock are low mileage, fsh (main dealer) 1 owner vehicles or well spec'd ex demo. Which usually (and i say usually as some lemons may leak through) means they are pretty good cars. I'd very much doubt you could find a identical car at a non-main dealer than a main dealer. Franchises cherry pick there own brands and only stock the best examples if they can. Fourth ... Main dealer warrenties (I know for def Audi franchise dealers are) are backed by the manufactourer. Which is a damn site better than some of the warrenties (which you usually have to pay for on top of the sticker price of the car) you get from non-franchise dealers From experience, I've yet to have a problem with a car from a main dealer, and I've never paid over the odds for one from a main dealer either. It's called negotiation. And not everyone is suffering at the mo. Those who didn't stretch them selfs and are up to the eyes in debt, in good jobs, and can manage their money well; can, and will afford these prices. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. Pay peanuts and most often than not you get monkeys. Oh and I'd just like to add a little tit bit for you. Audi developed/made 1st us of the following, which is now in use in most VAG brands; Torsen quattro, Haldex quattro, FSI, TFSI, TDI, Valve lift, Variable geometry Turbos, ESP, canbus, xenon, LED head/tail lights etc etc etc. Their sports division have also won just about every touring car series in Europe, LeMans (several times), WRC, DTM, GT racing etc etc If a fashion icon is capable of the above, then I'm damn happy with my fashion icon !!
  16. Oh and my a4 was just over 3 years old when I got it from a main dealer.
  17. God some off the stuff in this thread !!!! I've not known such lack of knowledge a closed mindedness about a VAG brand from fellow VAG owners. And before some start slating the audi fanboy. I have owned a few skodas in my time. I'm with lady E on this. And fully back the comments made. Oh and by the way. The mk 2 TT is nothing like a golf. It doesn't share any thing of it's chassis with any other VAG car. It's an all new combination of steel and aluminium chassis structure.
  18. Noticed it has sold. If the buyer pulls out for what ever reason, let me know. Cheers
  19. Yeah I'd sold it. Weird, I'd even updated the thread. :S:S
  20. OP. Where did you qet the quote from ? It seems to be worded wrong. - (EDIT I see its the way you've copy and pasted it over) As I understand it. If your car is SORN'd and not on a public highway your ok. The law is for cars that are not SORN'd but have no insurance. Basically to catch the people who drive around in taxed vehicles who have no insurance. http://www.direct.go...rance/DG_186696
