  1. Thanks everyone but I must express my concern about Max Bygraves records, they’re a bit rocky for me, being ex forces it’s Vera Liynn.
  2. I am rather aged and I do not have a modern mobile phone or any other music source but I do have a useless (musically) new car and I have a mile high heap of CDs so. Can I connect a personal CD player to the USB ports in the centre consul and expect music to come from the speakers?
  3. Couldn’t give me a precise location for the sensor could you? Mind you the car’s done less than 200 miles. I only use it for going to church on sunny Sundays and as I live in Cornwall we don’t get too many of them. It’s been a quiet 27 days.
  4. Hi, why did you want to change the mirror caps? If to improve the looks any chance of a photo?
  5. When approaching the my nice new VRs estate with a large potted plant, brief case and the produce of a major trip to T****’s I have tried to use the virtual pedal to open the cavern in the back of the car. I have provided much entertainment for the crowd as I hop around on one foot, nearly falling on my a*** and on occasion received a standing ovation but the boot door stays closed. Both the wife and myself have opened the boot with the virtual pedal once, so I’m convinced that the system is there. I’ve looked at the splendid video on YouTube and have just spent half an hour entertaining the next door neighbours trying to repeat the performance of the (obviously better than me at it) young lady, without success. Any one got any ideas? I would post a video of me trying but I’m too embarrassed.
  6. Thanks to all for help, now all I have to do is get the triangle, forgot to recover the one from my previous car.
  7. Thanks for info I should have looked there definitely confused by the comment on natural gas vehicles. I presume
  8. You sir are a star. Black clip against a black background in the roof of the bin no wonder that I couldn’t find it.
  9. I’m going to have the entire boot out and crack this tomorrow.
  10. Thanks for the steer but not on mine, I know it’s got to be stowed and available but as usual the manual is of no great help.
  11. I doubt you’ll get much assistance from the UK brains trust, we are very lucky to find 500 meters of straight road.
  12. Admittedly mine’s an estate but search as I may I still can’t find a stowage for warning triangles. Can you give us a clue please?
  13. There’s a reason for this the manual was written by a Czeck with a limited understanding of English. I had my Superb for 5 years and still didn’t understand the manual when I traded it in. Now that it’s gone ‘on screen’ I don’t think that I have a hope.
  14. Tried RGM today 01/03/2023 for a protector for nice shiny Octavia VRs, it seems that it’s the only car in the bl***y country they don’t make one for. They MAY be producing one in the summer! I think they are waiting for the new Mk vi to come out in 10 years time.
  15. Cars IndianQueens and I have been having ups and downs for the best part of 15 years and six new Skodas. It began when I told them that I would never buy a car from them until they got competitive and that I was happy to go up country for my Carwow car at £2000 cheaper and just because I lived in Cornwall did not mean that I was happy to pay their prices. Yeomans, now they are turning out to be a fox of a different colour, bought a car from them and got great customer service.
  16. Well all agreed I get my new car on Wednesday and Yeomans take over my old car when it’s been fixed. There’s an old saying “It doesn’t matter what the retail problem is, what matters is what the seller does to rectify the situation “ quite frankly I don’t think that they could have done more. **1* happens.
  17. Ah the mysteries of Briskoda. My lovely Superb went in today for five year service, brake fluid cx and timing belt cx, got a call from the garage at 14.00 “MrBenfield, timing belt has been replaced then we took it out for a test drive and about half a mile out the **1* hit the fan as the timing belt failed and to cut a very long and expletive ridden story short your engine needs a rebuild”. Not a problem you may think but the car goes in as part ex on Wednesday for my nice new shiny Octavia iv Vrs and I’m driving around in a roller skate called a Fabia ugh. Earlier on in this chain someone mentioned that the danger time for timing belt cx was when the car was new or the first 500 miles after belt cx nobody mentioned the first 500 bl**** yards. All I did was read up on timing belt cx on Briskoda. Stroke of luck and saves me £14 (1 day road tax) but the garage where my car is and the garage where the new one is are both in the same group, now we find the meaning of customer service.
  18. Thanks guys. As always much appreciated.
  19. Hi, Picking up my shiny new Vrs on Wednesday and while looking through the bits and pieces on Skoda website I note that it has a power outlet on the rear view mirror, can this outlet be used to power a forward facing dash cam? If not recommendations please for someone who can, no longer, crawl around cars the way he used to be able to. Thanks in anticipation.
  20. Found this out (from briskoda) about six months ago, I live on a main road (A390) spent best part of five years cursing taxi drivers and people with mobile phones for opening the boot on my Superb.
  21. Will give it my best efforts. I’ve had Skodas since the famous joke “What do you all a Skoda with a sunroof?” Never been disappointed yet.
  22. And here’s me at 80 years old just about to (1st March) pick up my first vrs.
  23. To be honest Superted I am feeling a bit pleased with myself (smug sod) especially as it was the first day of the 500 miles free fuel offer.
  24. I went to Helston Cornwall yesterday and in the Skoda dealers showroom was a graphite grey vrs (cancelled order) all it lacked for me was a tow bar and retailers can now fit it. Picking it up on the 1st of March, seen to bought about 20 mins. Although I first ordered a replacement for my Mk 3 Superb two years ago and cancelled due to rubbish service from the agent. So I’ve settled for the Occty now that it’s got a boot big enough for the wife’s Old English Sheepdog. Deepest sympathy for everybody who’s been waiting, what must seem like a life time, another thing to blame Putrid for.
  25. Just popped into my (nearly) local Skoda dealer 20 miles away lo and behold one occty Mkiv 2ltr graphite grey just sitting there. No tow bar fitted, of course, had a word with the salesman he’s going to have the Skoda recommended tow bar fitted, picking it up on 1st March. In today’s climate I’m thinking of applying to the Guinness Book of Records this has got to be a world record, first seen to bought with the bits I wanted 30 mins. Plus it was the first day of Skoda giving £500 of free fuel, it was just my day.
