  1. Doesn't ring a bell to be honest... The fuel pipe rattle is above 2K (around 2400-2800) so at 1500rpm doesn;t seem to be it. A video could help but in any case as it's such a new car you should always have it checked with your dealership if you feel it is really something that feels wrong.
  2. I've no idea about this ODIS system mentioned, i take it it's not something you can tweak with VCDS/OBDEleven? If so does it mean it;s only possible via the dealer network?
  3. If I'm honest, I tried that setting everyone was so excited about back when I had my MK7 Clubsport and the change was at best imperceptible and at worst a placebo. There'd been a debate also about if it actually does what people think it does given that the coding is found in a module that does not impact engine or throttle response but I guess if it works for you... No idea about Diesels but on the 280/272 Petrol a pedal box absolutely transforms throttle response it's shocking how badly it is mapped as OEM. Change is so significant I am unable to drive the car stock again, feels like something below the pedal is seriously broken
  4. Hmm, i didn't get the idea he was referring to the ride quality/suspension being wild, but rather the way it drove (engine response, steering, driver feed-back). It didn't sound any negative at all for sure! but maybe I was wrong M5 vs Porsche is not really apples to apples though. And anyway as far as saloons go, I find the top performers of the D segment being the sweet spot between something that is useable and can carry out family duties but also be taken to the track or be thrown around without needing silly amounts of space and speed to be properly exploited while keeping still - relatively - traditional and not needing to employ fancy systems (4 wheel steering, active anti-roll bars, air suspension etc.) to defy physics that are not on their side. Cars above that class, like the E63 or M5 are, to me, more about the car as a status and the showing off of the brand in terms of engineering success rather than actual useability of all that performance that is too much even for the track sometimes. Speaking of which I've seen C63's and M3's being squeezed around my local track a few times, but absolutely never a M5, E63 or RS6. Actually I don't think those cars ever see a track again after their development, and the Top Gear/EVO/Drivetribe reviews are over
  5. Quite the change! How do you find the overall quality and refinement compared to the M5? Just to be clear, I am not implying: "do you find them similar?" but rather "how worse is it in the Superb and is it acceptable for someone coming from a car like the F80?" Tuning wise, the 272 can gain +100bhp easily with minimum mods (mainly because the engine is detuned from 310bhp in the Golf R down to 272) and coupled with the AWD it can be surprisingly capable in "real life" conditions and speeds up to 100mph, giving even 450-500bhp RWD cars a run for their money. A 60-100mph sprint takes less than a second more in a stage 2 Superb 272 compared to a stock F10 M5 (4.1" vs 4.8"), quite crazy if you think about it really. All remaps void warranty though so take that into account. Tuning boxes like the JB4 are removable and practically non-detectable for some compromise in performance compared to a full-fat remap but for some it's the ideal trade-off.
  6. Any alloy shop really will have those more suitable size combos, for example something like: https://www.wheelbasealloys.com/ Now apart from such shops that sell all different brands, you can check specific alloy brands websites to see if you find the design (and size) that you're after, really lots of them to choose from, Ispiri is just an example: https://www.iwautomotive.com/ Just keep in mind that 20" is a big size so to get anything of decent quality and strength you should be looking at 1000 GBP minimum I'd say.
  7. The center bore and the width being different to OEM are not an issue. Most aftermarket alloys (branded ones too) come in limited (or even in just one) CB diameters but using the correct spigot rings allows them to be fitted to most cars. The spigot ring is not what keeps the wheel in place (the wheel bolts pre-load takes care of that), its function is to absorb any vibrations and prevent big shocks due to the clearance which is formed between the wheel hub diameter and the aftermarket alloy's diameter. In general, 20" fit great in the Superb's massive arches. 9.0J in itself is not a problem but the width combo of 9J & ET35 will push the wheels out by 21.7mm in total which is almost flush (if not exactly flush) so you might have some issues there. Either 8.5J ET35+ or 9.0J ET40+ would be safer. What I would worry though is the quality and safety risks associated with cheap replicas, as well the weight disadvantage such alloys usually bring.
  8. Beyond a certain point which to me is set around 5.0" for 0-100km/h and like 14.0" for 100-200km/h. straight line performance is more of an addiction, rather than a "need" in the real world, unless engaging often in racing activities. Cars doing those numbers are plenty fast to overtake and tackle most daily duties. But the extra G's and the feeling you are tasting some of the acceleration/performance level of much more hardcore machines is something not everyone can ignore... Well at least I know I am not that strong to resist it (maybe i need to grow older ). It's great if you can get over that, it would save you quite some money, time and potential worries. Removable tuning boxes could be almost a win-win situation if they are the right product for the right car.
  9. Not sure why you keep comparing to a stock Superb despite you were running a stage 1 in yours that makes a huge difference but yeah, stock for stock they are practically just as quick, at least on the dry, so if you can go back to that level of performance no issue. Driving wise it will definitely be a more rewarding car, just a matter of priorities. To some, straight line speed and point-to-point effectiveness is everything, i know a few people who would take a Golf R over an M2 every due to the fact it's the same car every day of the year and even with very light mods, little cars can reallistically touch it on a public road. However in terms of driving experience the M2 is a few leagues above the Golf. Truth be told I'm getting full of that cold-blooded but dull effectiveness of a powerful AWD car so my next car will be something a little different i think. In any case i hope you have a much better luck than you had on the Superb, real pity as the ones that go are only a very small fraction, and even then they don't cause the additional damage that occured in yours from the attempted turn-overs. Keep us posted!
  10. Tech wouldn't matter to me so much in a hardcore sports saloon/estate, (apart from Android Auto and CarPlay) that would reward in different ways but in a daily car like the Superb/3-series/C-Class for example, I wouldn't have it any other way because that's a big plus of why I like to spend time in it, all the stuff that keeps me busy and interested like messing with the digital dash, infotainment, ambient light, drive modes etc. has to be there. G20 is a great looking car, love it, and as explained above, the fact that it's modern and with all the latest gadgets gives it quite an appeal over the competitors. Between the ones you mentioned, i think the 330 would also be my choice Also, If you're idea of fun is around corners it'll be far more entertaining than your current car no question about that. Performance wise though and straight line speed, only because I know you were tuned before, prepared to go back to a stock 280 level of performance in terms of rolling acceleration and even worse from a standstill or low speeds. The way any remapped 280 pulls away is hard to match by the majority of stock cars, and even when the power is matched, if it lacks AWD that instant and care-free setting off at full speed under any conditions is something that you might miss. I've recently driven a bucket list car for me, and the man math shows it's probably going to cost me a similar loss over 3 years running costs and depreciatiations taken into account as the Superb so I am wondering whether i should go on with such a YOLO move that a few years back would sound crazy even to spit it out. Point is, despite its incredible driving qualities and more than healthy amout of power (a fair more than the Superb), below 80km/h it didn't really feel any faster than my current car, and that was only when it managed to hook... Anything above that speed it would obviously start to leave the Superb behind and that's before even tuning it but IF, the thrill, G's, and effectiveness of instant floor-n-go is high in the priorities list for someone then it's hard to beat a nearly 400bhp AWD car. That been said, a latest G20 has several ways to appeal, so if you can just push the raw power/performance craving to the back of your head I don't think you'll look back.
  11. Yes. Personally I wouldn't go full throttle below 80C, and from 90C onwards no concerns.
  12. I'll go with spoused bark thanks!
  13. Cool, I will try to check it out these days, i got a 2019 MIB2.5 so hopefully it supports it correctly
  14. What's Android Auto Performance monitor??
  15. if you mean Dragy it's not a one-off software! It will be your own personal dyno, very useful to be able to quantify just how much every change affects the car's performance despite quoted figures, as well as see how the car compares with others, as often as you want to, plus those things sell so easily if you want to get rid there is very little to lose by getting one, for 150EUR i find it's great value for what it offers. "Not work" is just non-sense , "not optimal" is something completely different. Don't know your guy, but my experience has shown that most dealers are just resellers with more often than not, less knowledge of the particular engines they're tuning than their owners. As such, they are very reluctant and/or unable to deviate from the "official" line for any customisation.
  16. Even though this is a big debate, i think most would agree that modern engines are in much less need of the owner's ultimate attention for running in, and the impact of that is also nowhere near as great as in engines of the past. Still, the principle is to introduce the engine to higher revving gradually during this 1500km period. That does not mean one should baby the car as if there's an egg below the throttle pedal but rather, take your time to warm up the car and gradually rev it higher and higher as you cover most mileage up to the 1500km mark. Very roughly, up to 4500rpm for the first 500km, going higher up to 5500rpm till the 1000km and then even 6500 once closer to 1500km. The thinking is that the engine goes through the full range of the rpm during this period before the moving parts settle and so is able to develop its full potential. That implies proper warm-up of-course, oil up to 90deg, and gradual operation.
  17. Never owned one tbh but going by the numbers online, even a lightly tuned Superb that does 0-60 in 3.7" and 11.9-12.1" for the 1/4 mile (seen these numbers on mine) should be as fast as a 4.5 Cerbera and definitely faster than both 4.0 and 4.2?? And that's repeatedly, under all conditions, a 1600+ kg car... Here's how strong a 272 with just an intake and the REVO software running ~390-400bhp pulls:
  18. Still in love with how it looks after 2 years, and considering the praise i occasionally get from random people in the streets it seems it's not just myself who thinks that. S
  19. It's a great place to be in really, especially at night. I get the argument of the cheaper car but is it only about covering the transportation needs or about something that also makes you feel good simply by looking at it and knowing you're owning it.... Covering miles in the Superb is also a much more enjoyable experience than in the Octavia. Some extra interior pics to help you in your decision Assuming you can safely afford it of-course, I find the
  20. No comparison visually between the two, Superb hatch in Sportline is a real looker You can forget about flat folding though, here is the promised pic: \ You only live once...
  21. Yeah I doubt it will fold anywhere close to flat iirc, but i can go and take a photo of the max angle possible later on if it's too important for your decision?
  22. These things can be quite fun on a covered in snow back-yard Unfortunately we only managed a couple of shots before the action cam died (helps to start shooting with more than 10% battery usually... ) but anyway: No idea why it sounds like a modded Impreza at some point everything is stock in terms of exhaust, DV... Probably the R600 intake is to blame.
  23. On a brand new car seriously? What a muppet that guy! That bit holds the intake duct in place. It probably won't go anywhere as apart from the two screws there are some clips that keep it in place and there is also nowhere to go even if loose, (you remove it by unscrewing and pushing down to unclip). So it won't do any harm staying like this until you replace it, but you should definitely demand a full replacement at their cost, this is unacceptable.
  24. Any link of the ones you're using? Googling Lumileds didn't show up the same bulb I'm seeing in your pic.
