  1. Been trying to source some aftermarket standard springs for my mk1 Octy vRS as the eibachs are too low for the speeds humps round here (They will be for sale shortly when swapped). Double dip recession in this house! so can't afford main stealer prices, so have tracked down the right ones. Fronts RC 1232 Rears RH 6777 Alternatively, Ebay listing: Fronts http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4cfb605ba6 Rears http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-of-Rear-Coil-Springs-for-Skoda-Octavia-1-8-2001-2004-RH6777-/320899677439?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ab71c7cff Hope this is useful.
  2. Thought I was gonna be the oldest so far - 51! Most of my birthday cards were on the theme of "Aging is inevitable, maturing is optional" etc. so think my family agree with SNH's Still free-riding my mountain bike fairly well, i.e. not falling off on some decent trails in Hamsterley Forest - Transmission and Section 13, if that means anything to anyone. On the grammar front it drives me mad, particularly 25p expressed as a vegetable not a unit of currency.
  3. An alternative - Car magazine ran an M3 long term and Ben Barry I think it was, found a company that had a kit that allowed 3 child seats across. Sadly can't remember the name or how it worked but it wasn't prohibitively expensive. Go search their web?
  4. Want to keep an improvement in handling over standard shocks and regain a bit of groung clearance Have got eibach sportlines and koni yellow adjustables (not height adjust, just damping) Could keep the konis and use standard vRS springs or wondered if anyone already had standard springs with koni fsd's who wanted the lower ride height with adjustable konis Will check receipt and see when they were fitted.
  5. Front crossmember grinding out on speed pads and thats before I put the bungalow/camping gear in. As much as I love the look I think I'm gonn be out of travel with the new tent we just bought. Pic shows how low she sits, which I love, empty. Any recommendations or interested in swapping either eibach sportlines for standard vRS springs or springs and Koni yellow adjustables for standard springs with FSD's?
  6. Autodata came back on line today so have set em to parallel and keeping an eye on tyre wear.
  7. Hi, fitting new steering track rods tomorrow and I don't have the tech data book. Sitting on eibach sportlines, any suggestions please.
  8. Didn't make that very clear at all, did I! vRS is my new toy, 156 was on the drive as insurance swapped over. Occy now in pride of place.
  9. Dog bone and intake pipe off jack engine up as far as poss without straining owt else and have some one pull the engine forward
  10. Isn't'she lurvly Really good shot considering it was taken on me phone, really shows how well it's been looked after by the previous owner and it's stance on eibach sportlines.
  11. To get the engine mount bracket off of the engine block the engines needs jacking RIGHT UP to clear the chassis leg and air con pipes and the intake hose and dog bone both need removing to prevent any damage. That why the intake pipe would be off and when the PAS resevoir is loosend without having the pipes disconnected it gets turned upside down right in this area so can understand PAS fluid could easily get in to the plenum chamber.
  12. Funnily enough guess what I was doing yesterday? Pics to come shortly of a properly clean car.
  13. Done and it worked, cheers marra.
  14. Hi all, have tried a few ways, copy/paste, our survey said nnnn nnnrrrrrr. Insert tab and upload from flickr error message saying not allowed. Read the help instructions about BB Codes - straight over the top of my head, Help please, so proud of my new toy wanna show the rest of you guys.

  16. None, and thats the way I like it really, certainly looks wise, a real "sleeper" or Q-car. Pic coming soon.
  17. Jabba 225 remap, eibach sportlines with konis. Wife drove it home as needing a cambelt/no evidence of having it done 'cos I knew I wouldn't be able to resist ragging it and didn't want to stress it and snap the belt, with the parts waiting at home. 20/20 hindsight shows the belt puleys and pump were fine. All done so after a brief blast for a quick pint waiting for the curry to be cooked these are my thoughts: No slop on turning in to a bend Good brakes with good feel and certainly quick enough.
  18. Got mine home this after and have just had me shower after doing cambelt and pump. No paperwork evidence of it EVER having been done - 1st owner up to 35k and 2 years and the guy I bought it from said he'd never "got round to it." Strange as he's the sort of guy who has changed the oil every 10k!?. Anyways, got it to bits and the belt, pulleys and pump looked as they could have done another 120k! Hey ho, peace of mind for the next 60k
