ALWAYS specify windscreen claims unless they specifically say to you "you don't have to specify glass claims" I get this plenty of times daily at work!

Fabia Monte Carlo vs Fabia vRS?
Jayneyyyy replied to Jayneyyyy's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Well, the other half just said if I can either sell the StreetKa and find a Mk1 Fabia vRS in that budget, or if I can trade mine in for a vRS (and not have to pay any extra, due to saving for the house) then I can have one... that would sort me until I get my new Skoda next year... Arghhhhhhh... :( -
Just to clarify - windscreen claims CAN affect your premiums, but most companies class these as minor non fault claims and will not increase your insurance at renewal because of it. Chip repairs aren't always free, they can be subject to a small excess from your insurance company, and your excess may be higher if you go to a none approved repairer, eg. you go to Autoglass and their approved repairer is Auto Windscreens etc etc. Every claim whether fault or non fault MUST be notified to all insurers. They will pay out for the initial claim, then claim the costs back from the third party (in your case, the police) so that your premiums aren't affected. (Again, some companies DO make non fault claims affect your premiums) All claims are logged and insurers will carry out CUE (Claims Underwriting Exchange) checks for any claims they have not been notified of by someone. Hope this clear things up.

Fabia Monte Carlo vs Fabia vRS?

I drove the mk1 vRS and fell in love... I'd probably do the same again as I did the Monte test drive lol! -
Fabia Monte Carlo vs Fabia vRS?
Jayneyyyy replied to Jayneyyyy's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Now you say the Monte has no go but when I had the test drive it had a nice pull to it, however having not test driven the vRS and currently driving a 1.6 petrol I wouldn't know a true comparison until I test drive the vRS too I suppose. I have no preference to whether it's manual or automatic as I drive the partner's car which is an auto. Performance isn't a huge issue, but I do like something with a bit of poke and if I put my foot down I want it to go somewhere, not wake up 20 minutes later! I will admit I'm a bit of a petrol head and I do like a fast car I drive 30 miles+ a day to work and back so as long as the fuel consumption is better than my current car - I'm happy! -
Next year I want to buy either a Monte Carlo, or a vRS. Probably looking for one about 6 months old as I don't see the benefit of buying brand new. (To save anyone asking it's next year as we are currently saving for the deposit to buy our house ) Want I want to know is, what's the advantage of owning one or the other? Common issues? Fuel consumption?

Check with the insurance company beforehand, some underwriters won't accept Cat C write offs (I work in insurance)

Brilliant weekend! Will DEFINITELY be coming to the next one! and nice to meet some new people and put faces to names Only problem I had was with whoever owns the 04 plate silver vRS, who nearly rammed me off the road on one of the dual carriageways after getting right up my *rse and causing me to slam on my brakes... May I remind you my 9 year old nephew was sat in the passenger seat, and I was actually going to continue to the first stop so I could say bye to everyone before leaving, but your idiocy changed my mind (and I probably wouldn't have been able to bite my tongue!) and I turned off early!!! Yes I may have been slower than Ian and Dave in front of me, but you could have at least given me chance to pull over! *RANT OVER* But apart from that, was all good

I need to invest in a smaller tent, after going away this weekend there is no way I will fit everything in my boot lol :/ my nephew is also really excited
