  1. Yeah I'm in, back to normal evenings, definitely prefer shooting the breeze in a cold pub car park than getting my head punched in! Need to find a way to do this car crap for charity!
  2. Don't make me come over there and uphold the BMW flag...
  3. No can do tonight, I'm doing boxing training. :( won't be able to make next month either... have a good one, chaps.
  4. For once, the phrase 'Built not bought' actually does apply. That was brilliant. Still absolutely buzzing. Between giving passenger rides and driving that MX5... wow. Also just a generally really good calibre of people. Nice to just have a chat with everyone and enjoy the company of some petrolheads (or jetfuelheads, in Jerry's case!). Roll on the next one.
  5. I've owned a Fabia vRS and driven a Mondeo ST. The Fabia is: unrefined, grunty, overweight, economical, cramped, reliable, understeery. It has a boat anchor of an engine that tunes well, goes well and makes granite look tricky and unstable, as far as reliability goes. It has a stupid interior that is very easily soiled, unless you buy an SE. Handling is uninspiring and it is very heavy (1315kg). It is economical, average to insure, cheap to tax and cheap to run. The Mondeo is: lively, inspiring, fluid, spacious, fragile, moderately quick. I have heard horror stories about the engine, which is slightly underpowered for the size of the car. It revs nicely though, and has a good powerband. The handling is nothing short of superb. It has an amazing chassis, which flows beautifully even on standard suspension and is a real joy to drive. It's comfortable despite its handing prowess. Huge inside, and a nice place to be than the Fabia.
  6. Never, ever pull over unless there are blue lights involved. If they have a truly burning desire to speak with you, your reg will be circulated and you'll be picked up by a marked unit/a unit with blue lights at a later stage. Austen- don't worry about your speed. 75-80 on a regular speedo equates to 68-75 in real life. No self-respecting traffic officer will do you for 75, they'd get laughed out of the station. I'm not saying it's acceptable to speed, but you'll need to be going a bit faster than that to catch their attention! Pool cars are literally just A-B cars. No sirens, no lights. You're not allowed to respond in them. I use them to get to community projects and that's about it!
  7. From what you've described, it sounds like one of our boys in black in one of our unmarked pool cars. Chances are he was running checks on the car to make sure everything was all in order, for whatever reason. As long as he didn't use any threatening behaviour or he didn't try to run you off the road, then I wouldn't worry about it mate. As long as you were lawful in what you did and didn't aggravate the situation, then you're fine. Sounds like a bit of a jobsworth trying to shake you up a bit, and clearly it's worked a bit! If your mates were keeping an eye on him then it was probably fuel for whatever bizarre fire he was lighting underneath you. Did you get the reg of it? Police staff will always wear blue shirts, black shirts are the preserve of police constables. For what it's worth, I have been followed on more than one occasion by a clearly bored member of our fine constabulary.
  8. That was a good one, chaps! Next one looks set to be July 1st..?
  9. Yes. That's definitely mine. :p The Alpina B8 makes a return... got to drive it this time. It's rather mad... as you'd expect a 1400kg, 333bhp, 4.6 V8 estate car to be. I broke some stuff, and replaced it. I'd burst both engine mounts, smashed a bracket... nicely done. No idea how. Easy fix though! The convertible E36 belongs to one of my best mates. Fitted his M50 manifold that day, and those are my old grey Vaders in his car. Laaaaavly. E39 downlighting. Like a Passat W8 light, but more orange. Lovely. Also... for anyone who wishes to hear the noise...
  10. We had loads of Hondas lol, 4 Accords, a few EP Civics, a few EJ/EK Civics, one of the newer ones... I think we had about 15+ cars on it!
  11. Straight sixes all sound good! Er... The Honda Forum. I used to have a Civic. We lost a few Hondas this year; they needed to fill some space up..!
  12. Terk- the BBSs are here to stay!! Yeah that sounds about right. It's feckin' loud and sounds awesome all across the rev range- no droning anywhere! If you're there next year, come and find me... I reckon I'll be on the stand again, ended up getting plenty of attention. Si- working on it, eventually! For now I'm going to max out the 2.8, you know it's hardly slow..!
  13. The wheels are a Marmite thing. Luckily I really like them. The exhaust is massive, it has a 3" downpipe from the manifolds... did you hear it moving? How come you were there??
  14. Count me in as a temporary... unsure what my shifts are doing, they've been moved around!
  15. Keep the faith... it'll be worth it!
  16. Cheers Si!! Terkin- another stalker I had lots of messages from various people asking where I was..!
  17. Oh yeah. Yours is a boy. Weird. :p
  18. Some were just some quick snapshots, others had a bit more thought in them :p got loads more but I must sleep soon!! You really need to fix up your car dude, let me know if I can help you out at some point... I remember when she was shiny and happy. :(
  19. A few pictures... Bowders, your car alone was a shoot in itself! Cheers to all for coming. That was greatly enjoyable.
  20. Car's now ready for you to do your worst to her Yoss, so you've got the Beemer's keys tonight!
  21. My car is lower than your granny's nipples and makes it every time... just be careful on the way into the car park (we park in the gravel one at the back), as there's some... interesting... holes in the road!
  22. His ZT-T is lovely, I can attest to that! And what's wrong with non-Skodas..?
