not yet, coming next year

I still stand by the fact that my Skoda Estelle was one of the most fun to drive cars I ever had. The yeti was good too but in a different way.

hard to say as I've not had a winter in the car yet. The old leafs had a small battery (24kwh) and no heat pump so the advice was always don't use the heater as it kills your range. They fitted a heat pump so it was no longer an issue. Now with bigger batteries (my tesla has 47 kwh and the enyaq will have 58) the heater will still draw power but you've got more capacity so it may have less of an impact in day to day motoring as the batters are way way bigger than you need. They're designed for long distance driving. What I tend to do when it is cold (was minus 2 on Saturday morning) , is out on the heated seats and put the heat on low rather than auto. If you leave the car to its own devices it will try to heat the whole cabin to your set temp, whereas I just wanted warm feet and the seats (which draw very little) did the rest. I do miss a heated steering wheel ont he Tesla though. Hoping to see the ID3 next week as my neighbour works for a VW dealer and he's goign to bring one home.

tesla doesn't have a heat pump either

every time Tesla push an update there is quite quickly a load of people saying "why doesn't X work any more?" The sorts of things they push out are voice controls (standard on most cars), one pedal driving (standard on most EVs), traffioc sign recognition (standard on most cars).

skoda never sold cars based on old fiat, that was Polski Fiat. They always had their own designs. That's why VW invested, and why Polski Fiat is long forgotten

when they painted the car they didn't clean some dirt / grit offf it first so there were umps of grit under the paint. They fixed it, but it took 6 months to get the parts from the USA

tesla is a complete lottery, you may get a good one or you may not. They will fix it but it can take time (took them 6 months to get me a new front end on mine). And software updates.....as often as not they break somethign when fixing something else. The auto pilot and adaptive cruise are a mess right now so I have had to disable them. Having said that if you do buy one, personally I would not, feel free to do so using this link and it will get you 1000 free miles on their supercharger network https://ts.la/domhnall71732

Now this woudl seriously tempt me to switch from Tesla back to Skoda, really impressive and aggressively priced. Very nice.

One update on the Tesla with a couple of things I hadn't realised / forgot to mention. There is no spare tyre and the puncture repair kit is an £80 optional extra. Breakdown cover only covers you if you are within 50 miles of a tesla service centre so it is recommended that you also pay for your own breakdown cover. Neither is major but when you're paying a minimum of £40k for a car it just feels a bit....cheap.

it's not been an issue for me as 1) this Summer hasn't been hot enough to make the battery too hot 2) I haven't been using the Tesla superchargers so again the battery's not got hot 3) only long trip was over to Northern Ireland and their infrastructure is so die I was only charging at 11 kW so again heat not an issue.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
you would be a lot faster charing to 80 and then moving on - at busier chargers you will drive a lot of people nuts with your over 80% thing. Expect some hostility at busier times

trouble with Edinburgh is they tend to be hogged by Taxis. The sooner they started charging the better. If you get stuck there is are two engenie rapid at MacDonalds at Dalkeith and one near the SQA at Sherrifhall (but there are two CPS rapids there too)

I have a tesla model 3 (just started a thread on that) but for holidays I have a T6 camper van from Jerba Camper vans. Highly recommend them. This is my 2nd Jerba. EV is there now for cars, but not yet for leisure vehicles. Fine for vans delivering in cities, but not for campers. VW will get there soon though.

Electric vehicles and charging
The evolt team who do most of the Scottish chargers are in BMW i3 or Nissan Leaf 40 kW. Not sure who you have seen George

you do know I presume that you will charge much faster if you keep it between 20 and 80% george? In most cars the time taken to get from 80 to 100 is loinger than the time from 20 to 80 ARe you in the Scottish EV drivers club on facebook? great source of info and folk would love ot hear your experience with the corsa I am sure. Have you got wattsup on the phone? best way to locate rapids

Yup, the leaf cost me £28 for roughly 16,000 miles of motoring. The tesla has done nearly 3000 for zero fuel cost so far. Fossil cars seem so crude, slow and clunky, and you really notice how rough and noisy they sound, and the stench! ugh. It's a bit like how you noticed cigarette smoke more in 2006 after the ban
