With the extra amount of technology in modern cars there is a LOT more to go wrong but I find my cars and motorcycles of the last 15 years much more reliable than cars of the past and bodywork being nearly indestructible to corrosion.
  2. How did the thread subject change from Manual/Electric Handbrakes?
  3. Tpm

What year did Skoda stop putting that on the Yeti MFD? Mine is very early 2015 and has nothing on the Maxidot relating to TPMS, reset only by pressing the TPMS button for a few seconds when in alarm.
  4. Post October 2014 models had the Amundsen II with USB socket Yours must be a pre November 2014 model as after that there is no headphone socket on the fascia of the unit.
  5. Does your unit include a sat-nav? Are you sure there is not a USB socket at the bottom of the dash in front of the gearstick?
  6. Would that not set off the tyre pressure monitoring alarm?
  7. That would make no difference, no sensor in gearbox relating to any gears. My Fabia lost cruise control due to a crack in the plastic vacuum pipe to servo, took ages to find that.
  8. I think that this being their 1st post and it being posted at the same minute they joined and has not been back since is strange and makes me wonder how real that post is.
  9. Did the failed backlighting happen when you were driving the car after dark with out lights on, that is how it is supposed to work to tell you to switch lights on.

Yeti won't be replaced by any aboard this ship. Edit: Porsche have lost 1,117 cars on the ship, Audi claimed a loss of 1,944 vehicles, Bentley lost 189, Lamborghini lost 85, and Volkswagen lost 561 cars.
  12. MPG

Urrell replied to Expatman's topic in Skoda Yeti
I use mainly Tesco 95 octane with 50 ml of Archoil AR6900-D MAX in every tankful and get anywhere from 57 to 68 mpg each tankful on our 1.6 TDI.
  13. You are lucky to have a dealer where they know there is a filter fitted.
  14. Close the window, release the switch then hold it up again for about 5 seconds and that should reset it. Ignition needs to be switched on or you can do it with engine running no need to switch it on/off/on.
  15. You did suggest it with the brake on the spinning wheel to get traction, with too much weight on the tow-ball it could taking weight off the front causing that!
  16. That's why I asked what the weight was on the tow ball, if severely overloaded it would have that effect.
  17. Yes but what was the weight on the tow ball?
  18. Sounds like some but not all programming has been done.
  19. The "Off Road" mode does nothing to the Haldex, and as it's at the rear and the noise is from the front nearside probably rules that out. Have the engine/gearbox mounts been checked? What weight was on the tow-bar?
  20. I'd imagine the newer VAG units will be picking up the data from other sources.
  21. If Trafficmaster have stopped transmitting on the frequency that VAG units pick it up from no firmware fix is going to sort it, can you see VAG paying to sort a problem with units up to 13 years old?
  22. There is also the extra weight of a transfer box, propshaft, Haldex unit, half shafts, larger fuel tank etc. I think with the 205x55 R16 tyres its a better ride than the 17" wheels, also borne out by those that run 16" wheels and winter or all season tyres in the winter.
  23. I think the 205x55 R16 tyres on my Greenline are the best size for ride and handling and are about half the price of any of the 17" wheel sizes as so many cars have them fitted so why do you think they will cost more in the future?
