  1. I've got an order number on that day and he submitted it in a seems-to-be Skoda ordering system in front of me. So you mean they can do something after that for example cancelling and resubmitting to juggle bonuses?!
  2. Mine is manual, FWD 140CR. Standard SE, no extra, pacific blue, still 16 weeks. Was told by the dealer 170 is more popular and has longer waiting time. However it seems the diesel engines have no logistic problem this year. I believe it's down to dealer's monthly quota...
  3. you are so lucky! And I believe it's down to quota. pretty sure the dealer wants my money like I want my car...
  4. finally a build date is secured: week 16, expected to be delivered week 18 or 19 so 13 weeks from order to build date, 15 to 16 weeks from order to delivery. looking forward to the car in early May. Fingers crossed!
  5. Mine is standard SE trim should have no supply chain issue I think it's just my local dealer don't have enough quota so the factory back pushed my order for two months so 10 weeks becomes 16 weeks :-(
  6. just told that the car is expected to be delivered during the early part of May, fingers crossed...
  7. You guys make me feel jealous... Ordered week 3 however no confirmed build date yet for my Twin door SE 140 CR with two extras - spare tyre and mats. Is it possible instead of confirming a build date first the factory directly tells you the car is built? I'm day-dreaming now.
  8. Thought a plain Pacific Blue manual twindoor 140 CR with FWD would have been much quicker than a 4x4 170, but maybe this is down to the quota of different dealers... Just need a bit more patience :-D To G Bain, Yes, we went through the stock list, however no close match (most stock cars have loads of extras on them and beyond my budget...). I told them any colour would be fine. Great you love your car. I'm looking forward to mine.
  9. oh no! Thinking of selling my old toyota Corolla as insurance renewal date is approaching in April... Need to re-think...
  10. Hi All, I've ordered a Twindoor SE 140CR, manual, no extras (only spare wheel and mats), in week 3. Quoted delivery date 1st of April and suggested can get it even as early as late March. However, after 7 weeks dealer says still no build date confirmed although the factory already accepted the order. Is this normal?
  11. Some dealers put this as a fleet sale?
  12. lucky you! I'm refreshing my email inbox every 10 minutes now :-(
  13. I ordered mine 21st Jan, was told the build date could be first half of March. However, no confirmed build date yet after nearly 6 weeks... 140CR twindoor SE all standard no extras. After watching several car manufacturing TV programs such as BMW megafactory, am convinced extras make no difference. Bottle neck is most likely the engine and transmission.
  14. I do 3 miles x 2 in-town everyday and am ordering a CR 140 DPF. It seems to be fine if you do long trips (50miles+ ?) every other week or once a month. And be gentle on the gas when engine is cold to reduce soot. In the end, most of the DPFs are not killed by the unprocessed soot, but the ash byproduct during the regeneration.
  15. strangely they are asking for username and passwords now... had no problems before...
  16. TBH I don't think it will make cruise control much safer. You should be driving the car not the car itself. I will only use cruise control to rest my right leg for a minute or two when safe. If you feel tired, take a break. Otherwise not safe to continue even with adaptive cruise control and lane depart warning.
  17. I've done a rough comparison of the above two photos. Also the filming angles are slightly different, it is clear though a RHD has its pedals offset to the left (middle) for around 2 inches.
  18. There must be a problem in it for them to do that on the superbs. Also as I said in previous post, seems the pedal positions are different as well. The acceleration pedal is too left for me at the beginning. Or it's just my personal feeling... Need to adapt to that otherwise will hit it when trying to brake... Will be careful...
  19. Seems like there is no point for me to switch on the climate control heater during future winters. My journey every morning is only 15 minutes 3 miles. Better keep the minor heat with the engine to make it more efficient.
  20. I'm an in-town driver. Will report my 140 CR MPGs when get the car hopefully in April. My current 00' toyota corolla 1.3 petrol returns 29mpg purely in town, 44mpg on motorways (70-75mph). Have achieved once 52mpg on a purely a-road trip (55mph average non-stop!). Since mainly in town, average in the last three years was 33-35mpg. Will be extremely happy if the 140CR can beat this in the future, considering the Superb comfort!
  21. I can understand the seats won't be as confy as those two. However, it seems the differences among superb, passat and BMW 5 aren't so obvious from these photos: http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/skoda/superb-hatchback/2-0-tdi-cr-140-s-5dr/pictures/60792 http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/volkswagen/passat-saloon/1-4-tsi-122-s-bluemotion-tech-4dr/pictures/59481 http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/bmw/5-series-saloon/520d-se-4dr/pictures/58966 Probably the lumbar support is too much on your superb? The dimensions also tell similar story: Superb Passat BMW 5
  22. The seat base is not short. However the back row is narrower than in Passat. They push the rear seats further back, overlapping slightly with the rear wheel arches now. That is why the legroom is huge with the trade-off being a bit narrow for 3 big adults. The boot is not very deep either, but no one will complain that in a Superb, already too big! One more bonus of this design though, is the extra arm'n'shoulder space for passengers next to the doors. Hence they can move sideways slightly to make the middle passenger more comfortable if needed!
  23. The passat key function sounds like the 08- Mini I drove before... I also find out the possible reason of why the acceleration pedal is offset to the middle. Seems the front wheel arch is in its way... It is ok for LHD superb as it will be a perfect place to rest your left foot on but not so good in a RHD... Will get used to it though, as to the handbrake...
  24. It's a pity they corrected this for Octavia but not the Superb. Many other cars such as the ford focus 04-11 also have this problem. I also found the gas pedal a bit too left. Nothing is perfect.
