  1. My dealer told me the delivery would take about 11 weeks. Twin door Elegance 2.0 TDI 140 CR, with a few extras. Ordered week 2 and picking up this Saturday so week 10. Thats 8 weeks in total. Not bad! Just need to calm down now as I am so excited!
  2. So the question then is, how can I rinse the car off with a bucket of water (or many). And if that is achievable then what products should I use once the car is rinsed.
  3. Swirls is what I would like to avoid, but with something other then snow foam.
  4. With my new car ready for collection any day now, and also with a Birthday coming up soon, I was going to ask for a Snow Foam gun from my wife. Issue now is it looks like we are getting a hosepipe ban here in Kent so Snow Foam and the pressure washer will be useless. So my question to those more in the know then me, is what should be on my Birthday list? My requrements for products are: Clean the car quickly Minimal effort Car looks as clean as it was new after it is washed. I am looking for a list of products, eg 2 buckets, mitt, shampoo etc that I would need to get my car looking brand new with minimal effort. What products would people suggest, which mitt, which shampoo, should I uses a shampoo without wax and then wax and polish the car seperatly. If somebody could give me a shopping list I would be very happy. I really need products that would be hastle free and quick as I am lazy. Is self drying shampoo any good? Thanks in advance!
  5. Seller on ebay just contacted me. He has more stock. Item number is 140720869833 price is £38.99
  6. Damn it they have all sold. Next cheapest on Ebay is nearly £59. Thats anoying!
  7. Sounds like 4x4 and DSG cause long build dates. Manual gearbox and non-4x4 seams to be reasonable wait times.
  8. I ordered mine on 14th Jan, was told it would be 11 weeks aprox. My car was built week comencing 20th Feb and as I understand it is currently on way to port in Germany. On the current schedual I should have it in a 2-3 weeks which would have been 9-10 weeks after ordering. Very good I think. I have ordered a 140CR twindoor Elegance with a few extras. I belive engines, gearbox (DSG), and 4x4 all effect build time, but I am no expert. Also last week somebody explained built slots that dealers have on this forums, which helped to explain built times a lot!
  9. I think, but I may be wrong, in answer to a) The reason for no rear wiper is the twinfold boot. I am sure other on here will be able to confirm this and answer your other questions.
  10. Same here. I like the look of the estate, but did not need the extra space and with the VAT offer it had to be the twindoor. I think the twindoor only works in lighter colours, I have gone for Steal Grey. Where the estate works in any colour. With the VAT offer I found it was closer to 5k more for the same car as an estate!
  11. http://www.bt-design.cz/ The orange leather looks great!
  12. I hope this is not true! The amount of kit for them money is why I have a Superb on order. It is also the reason I bought a Fabia 3 back in 2008. Was a lot of kit for the money. If they make the Skoda more budget I would not move to buying a VW, especially not a Passat. I would be forced to buy other non-VW group cars and they would loose sales across the group. I hope the Superb remains truly Superb :-)
  13. I believe a lot of the space in the Superb comes from the bonnet being shorter. This is very clear in those 3 pictures posted. You can see the Superb has a shorter front then both the Passat and 5 Series. The Superb engine is transverse mounted, where I believe (but not 100% sure) that the other 2 have longitudinal mounted engines. Can anybody else comment on this, has rotating the engine created the space?
  14. I bought 2 in the end from Amazon. They arrived yesterday. Just need to wait for my new car now :-( about 10 weeks till it is ready. Now I need to order 2 more as well for my mum who has order a Yeti with leather seats.
  15. I have just ordered mine with front parking sensors but not park assist. The dealer told me it takes longer to park with park assist then it would take yourself once you get used to the car. I have taken the front parking sensors as I could not see then front of the car when I test drove. The money saved buy not getting front park assist I have spent on auto dip read view mirror (which should be standard on elegance).
  16. I have found both the sales team and servicing to be nothing short of excellent. Bought a Fabia Estate from Caffyns 3 1/2 years ago. Purchase was good, all services since have been excellent. As others have said on this thread the guys on the servicing desk are very helpful and friendly. Popped in Sat and have traded in my Fabia and ordered a new Superb. Dealt with the same salesman, Simon, who was again good. Just got to wait now for it to be built :| Best part about Caffyns is the servicing team who are first class.
  17. Thanks all for the feedback. I will order two of the ones I liked to tonight from Amazon. I am now a lot happier that my leather seats will not be damaged by child seats.
  18. Just ordered my new Superb yesterday. Have been told it will be aprox 11 weeks which is OK. To be honest I can't wait to pick it up, I am so excited! I am trading in my 3 year old Fabia 3 Estate 1.9 TDI for a Superb Elegance Hatch 2.0 TDI CR 140. As the Elegance comes with full leather seats and we have two children I am worried about damaging the leather seats with the child seats. In my Fabia the seats material has not been damaged by the child seats, but they have left indents in the base seat padding. Does anybody have any suggestions for how I can protect the leather seats? I have seen these on Amazon, are they any good? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sunshine-Kids-Ultra-Seat-Protector/dp/B000EDJ1A8 Any help/advice is much appreciated.
