VRS Position Light MOT Failure
The examiner made an error if the sidelights are on. That is the DRL units less bright. On as sidelights with sidelight switch or with headlights. Common mistake.

- the truth about electric cars
Everything new is not better. Eg VW keep introduction crap. Always showing left hand drive cars. Or in a right hand drive a car stopped with the person using their right hand...- the truth about electric cars
China is not the issue. Nor software. It is the crap coming in this car. Noises etc. this coming Mini has got issues otherwise they would be getting to drive ones by now.- the truth about electric cars
MINI and BMW i-drive perfect as left hand falls to it and the back buttons etc. Dead easy and no need to touch a screen when driving. This rear seat space about a 3 door is a nonesense. You know if you want a 2 seater with occasional 3rd seat.. more room is in their imagination. Why would you only want a small car for around a city if Johnny no mates. This is the issue, company cars full of emptiness.- the truth about electric cars
@Stonekeeper I got the MINI with almost no range because there was no way I was having a Chinese built new one. I wanted what they were now. No Speedo in front other than the optional heads up. (I have a heads up now and turned off.). Cloth dash and various other nonesense. I will buy one the last of the Clubmans if I am getting a car in 3 years or one to replace my Suzuki. The Countryman is horrible as well and I suspect the Aceman will be as well which is going to be a shame. Ps. Muppet reviewers should mention the right handed people and issues when right hand drive cars arrive.- TPMS
Or just because the pressure once home was only 3 psi lower than when set. But maybe if you are a tyre pressure guage when the warning activated and checked pressures it might not have been only 3 psi. This same subject comes up regularly. Good actually people get random warnings because in the owners manuals it advises to do test checks.- the truth about electric cars
Not an air show, but when I had the Corsa Electric and there was still plenty free charging I went to plenty events. Not paying for petrol or diesel paid for the Travelodge, Premier inn or Best Western. It was great being places early. In the diesel this time. 200 miles yesterday. 300 miles today. 450 miles tomorrow. Getting expensive these days. By next weekend will have done 1,100 miles and getting 47 mpg. No way would I mess about with passengers and charging when places to be and people to see. On my Jack Jones or with a passenger that is understanding of messing about to get charged it is ok. But not when. 69 pence or more a kWh. Tesla non Tesla charging is cheaper. I will never have a Tesla though. Or any car that needs the left hand using a touch screen.- the truth about electric cars
@Winston_Wolf, sorry @Winston_WoofLong and short. It is not a Battery Electric Vehicle when it needs liquid fuel to charge the battery via an engine in board. Hydrogen powered engines are different things. But then if the hydrogen is produced from coal, oil or gas fired power station,s electricity it is a nonesense. Like BEV,s from dirty electric. All a con.- the truth about electric cars
Electrified. The Hydrogens do or will help manufacturers with the first registrations of zero emission vehicles. They are included. Electrified ICE are not. Helps with the Annual fleet average C02 though. Kidology.- Replacement tyre recommendations.
The OP is doing it a tyre at a time and does not have all seasons on now.- the truth about electric cars
20 miles EV range towing if lucky. More like 10. Electric hybrids are not Electric cars. Octavia or Passat PHEV, or Mild hybrids. Electric cars are BEV,s. The nissan e-power is not an Electric car either with a petrol generator.- the truth about electric cars
@Stonekeeper Audi do not do an A3 electric, but whatever. Not ideal are they from whoever. Not to worry though if you do not have one or have to wait while they get charged up as you do not have a BEV. @Paws4Thot considering the Airshow turn out was discussed before and the lack of EV charging available but the park and ride was, why would anyone not believe the attendances? You are like at school back in the day I think. Sticking your oar in shouting fight. Snotty wee thing.- Help
@R9DCG That is a lot of parts getting fired at the car is it you fitting them or are you paying someone to play parts lottery? ? How many miles has the engine done?- Has 1.5 TSI engine now been fixed?
Skoda did not use 1.5TSI engines with 130 ps. and they are not ACT,s. there was no need to manipulate engine management of those Engines to get the WLTP Certification as happened with the 1.5 TSI ACT,s.- the truth about electric cars
@Stonekeeper the caravan. Towing vid keeps getting posted. Last time you did I directed anyone to the rowing with an EV thread. If anyone is surprised by how much a EV.s range is reduced by towing then maybe they never tow with a car with a ICE. The charging an EV while towing or having to unhook has been discussed and covered many times as well. Some people might keep on using EV.s to tow and some that do might think a lighter van might be a good idea. I suspect though that they might just go for cars with bigger batteries.- TPMS
Not a hard and fast rule though. Easy enough with an accurate tyre pressure gauge. Set pressures, reset the TPMS then after all well let one down by 4 psi. There can be maybe a little pressure loss and some tyre tread wear, it is only the circumference and rotations of the wheel being measured. A more sensitive system and a warning is a good thing as running 5 psi low because regular checks done is not 'Simply Clever'.- Handbrake sticks on and then clunks free when you set off
Odd that a search on here or Google never brought up at least 14 years of similar posts. Manual hand / parking brakes and then e-Brakes / parking brakes and with Autohold people experiencing the same. Too common sadly. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/521318-auto-hand-brake-when-driving-off- Adblue
Yes but when it is out of Adblue or almost out it does not start. It is disabled / inhibited. Too little Adblue added is not recognised. If it shows 1,000 miles until top up required then you have 1,000 miles in which to top up, then 800, 600 etc. Simple Stuff.- Adblue
It warns you that you need to top up in so and so miles or it will not start does it not?- TPMS
How long ago were the pressures checked and set when cold, or similar temp til todays? Good that it indicated a change since last checked pressure and the TPMS reset. If reset now and all well good if it warns again if there is a change at some point. It is just the circumference it knows, and a over heating bearing or sticky brakes can heat up a wheel / tyre, or sitting with the sun hitting a tyre. The pressure was lower though so a win.- the truth about electric cars
Re Caravanning. My parents started before i ever remember and it was with a Caravan built in my uncles Undertakers / Joiners Yard for all the family. (Not Mafia.) & towed by an Austin Gypsy owned by him. Or the building firm. (Not Mafia, Masons, same thing.) Then my mum and dad had cars always that were for towing and i have the rally plaques from there caravanning years right up to about 24 years ago. Thousands from early 1950,s so over 50 years. They had small vans, medium and big and pretty luxury ones, but sensible sized and they could sleep 5 when i was young. The caravans i see behind EV,s are huge, an i see ones weekly now. Tesla, Polestars towing, even the odd VW or Skoda. No way in the world would i want such a length of van no matter what i was towing it with but as for behind an EV that just seems strange to me.- the truth about electric cars
BYD are going to build cars in Hungary just as Suzuki have done for a long time and as Mercedes, Audi / VW Group have their Components including EV Motors.- Skoda road wheel smae oem numbers - crucial?
Not really, If you want as a Spare, an emergency wheel / tyre to fit and reduce speed and use until you get a repair or replacement then get what you want that fits and gives an almost identical circumference / total diameter with a tyre on. If you are going to need to put it on and leave on and carry on a journey get matching to the other on the car. @Carlston Knows all the stuff on wheels / tyres and where to find it.- More emissions
If servicing is up to date & air filter good, no obvious air intake or exhaust issues / leaks and you have tried a few tanks of the better diesels, more cleaner / detergent even if no higher a cetane then best get it checked for any logged fault codes. - the truth about electric cars
