Spark Plugs
Just for anyone's information. There is a Skoda Recall Action/ Service Campaign on some 1.0 TSI's. It is some built 2018-2020, an injector leak. So ask at a dealership, or ask Skoda UK CS. No idea if the cars that need checked are on this VIN checker. No idea if Fabia are part of it. '24FQ' is the relevant Recall Action. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions

Lane assist is dangerous
@Phil245 Have you not noticed that the UK is out of the EU already and in a transition period but not out of Europe.. Maybe you can tell us when you find UK built cars for UK driving on UK roads that do not have to be built to be exported or driven in other countries.

Spark Plugs
You got the old Price 'Interim Service' then. A car at 2 years old and 20,000 miles or less did not require a Major Service. But an Oil & Filter change as at 1 year with the addition of a Pollen Filter. The new prices are ridiculous, as were Major Services on a 2 year old car @ £289 up till the New Menu was started this year. Just check a Motor Factor or other Dealership for the correct price of the spark plugs. I would also name the Dealership where the staff member needs some training. ECP might be wrong but these would be about the correct price.

The battery as the new frontier
- Spark Plugs
PS Service your car a few weeks before the trip so that you know all is well and fit the new spark plugs or any other parts / filters etc then and take the old spark plugs with you. ? Are you going to a country without garages and motor factors? Are you able at the roadside to change a Cam belt, and do you really think you might need to on a 3 year old car?- Spark Plugs
Someone got that wrong there. You could have had an Oil & Inspection Service Carried out, and the Extended Scope Service action and paid the £99 for the spark plugs to be supplied and fitted for less than you were quoted. That is at a Skoda Fixed Price Paricipating Dealership. £184 £59 £99 =£342 Total including VAT.- Are the cinturato a noise tire on Superb?
@croquemonsieur ECO does not mean Budget it means the 'Green' that Pirelli choose to use. Maybe believe reviews and tests less especially ones from Germany. That amount of times that Pirelli and Continental get good reviews and when you drive a car with the ones rated high you think WTF.- Yeti juddering after cam belt change
@helix How many miles has your Yeti done and when were the Spark Plugs changed, or even inspected? Are you aware there is a Service Campaign on some DQ200's from 2013-2015? This was started in 2017 and is a Software Update. '34H5'. It did not appear on the VIN checker until last year after yet another Recall was started in Australia. Check with the Dealership to see if your car / DSG should be part of the Service Campaign / Recall action. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions- Are the cinturato a noise tire on Superb?
& low rolling resistance actually means lower friction / grip. That is what ECO tyres do, reduce grip.- VW ID.4 SUV EV

The Blue Printed Twincharger that i took out my last road car before i traded it in. The original engine went back in and someone is still driving it about. They got it running stage 1 and with a sound DSG. When you buy a Twincharger you might be getting something better than it left the factory so before modding or tuning you are best to try and see just what the car does perform like. Getting it on a dyno is a good start before doing anything, but once you know the plugs, coils etc are all well. Previous owners might have the steering assist, brake assist and the XDS changed from the factory setting, and the car could be remapped. Enjoy yourself with your new car.- Picking Fabia VRS estate up soon.
I have had Mk2 Fabia vRS and have one stored for the future with a nice engine ready to go in. I am 3 points away from a ban so have an electric car with a 95 mph top speed and 0-60 quicker than a vRS..- Picking Fabia VRS estate up soon.
You can run it on 95 ron, but 97 ron at Sainsbury or 99 Tesco Momentum 99 is only £2.25 extra over their 95 ron and likely the same price a tank as Esso, Shell, BP, Gulf etc's 95 ron.- Citigo-e iV Tyre Pressures
Welcome, it certainly does appear very high. Did you ask at the dealership why their Tech set the pressure they did at the PDI? That has been discussed here before when others got their new car. I can not remember exactly where or what the conclusions were after members looked into the pressures with Dealers, Skoda, VW or whoever.- Picking Fabia VRS estate up soon.
You said the car is being Serviced, are they just changing the Oil & Filter? That is not a service it is an Oil Change. Police cars are serviced using tax payers money, and were K&N filters might be used they get binned at a service. You are not driving a Police car, Fabia vRS are fine with regular checks and consumables replaced as needed. Wasting money on perfectly good oil. or filters being replaced seems so silly when there are things that are worth spending on. The correct plugs, correct consumables like the oil and Super Unleaded. Brakes serviced regularly and good tyres and suspension parts.- Picking Fabia VRS estate up soon.
@GUESTY Why? Do you do high miles in extreme climates? The Water Pump and belts are due a change when it leaks or goes wrong. You have the Spark Plugs changed at a garage if you are not doing them. Someone has to change them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462285-spark-plug-guide Being sure the plugs are right is one of the major things to do with a Twincharger. Supposedly 40,000 miles / 4 year change schedule. Some cars have 1 plug that might not last half that.- Picking Fabia VRS estate up soon.
At least you will have your consumer rights if there is major faults. Hopefully someone that can competently change the spark plugs will be servicing it. Plenty issues occurred over the years even when VW Trained Techs do them. Brake Fluid change was due at 3 years and each 2 since. Air Filter at 40,000 miles or as required when checked. Pollen Filter each 2 years or sooner, at least checked and cleaned / vacuumed. A fuel filter change should have been done.- Picking Fabia VRS estate up soon.
? Where are you buying from, is it a trader? Go on the condition now and the low miles. Checking what Discs and Tyres it got, and the first 3 years history and any more recent. It maybe got treated better and looked after better in the last 9,000 miles / 18 months than before those.- 'service campaign' DQ200 DSG Oil Change,ECU update, Fabias in UK.
If '34F7' has not been done and should have been it is free. I would not have it done if the car drives perfectly now, i would leave well alone, and stay away from Skoda Dealerships / Technicians & Fitters. But An early CTHE did not require '34F7' according to Skoda / VW, and did not require '34H5' the software update. That is on 2013-2015 DQ200's. So unless they have changed their mind it will not get done free. You need to see if the car has a Service & Maintenance History. Some owner could have had the DQ200 sorted out if ever faulty. The Engine or DSG could be remapped or upgraded. Keep away from Skoda Dealers IMO. No good can come of them touching the car. Use experts not their technicians unless you or friends can trust them because they know them.- Picking Fabia VRS estate up soon.
@GUESTY I would hope not. There are hundreds of good CAVE & CTHE's. There are ones that were faulty that are fixed or have new engines as Skoda / VW had to fit hundreds of engines to under 3,000 Mk2 Fabia vRS in the UK. Also do rebuilds and updates. So find out the Skoda History for the first 3 years of its life. There are not many CTHE Estates in the UK, and a good few have been owned by Briskoda members at some point. ? Do you want to put up the Reg Number of the car you are getting? There are some ones that were duff in the past, but they could be sorted now. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473709-vrs-estate- 'service campaign' DQ200 DSG Oil Change,ECU update, Fabias in UK.
If '34F7' was outstanding it might show here but some that needed it did not show, cars were missed. Then '34H5' never showed here for a couple of years but did start showing after VW Group started another recall in Australia in 2019. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions- 'service campaign' DQ200 DSG Oil Change,ECU update, Fabias in UK.
@GUESTY If done there should be a sticker in the spare tyre well with '34F7' on it, dealers stamp and date. Or a dealer can check or Skoda UK Customer services can. Get a Service & Warranty History for the car printed out. But, likely yours never got that as an Early CTHE and they say 'Computer says no'. The 'Flashing White Spanner' issue like with @Sittingbull and others cars are ones that never got '34F7' as Skoda / VW says not required, & they never got '34H5' the Software update started on some 2013-2015 DQ200's. See @Nortonpuch's posts above. VW Group and the DVSA do not give a damn about it.- Stop start batteries
@J.R. Point of video is even in 2020 VW have snagging faults, and not the battery, software and hard wear in the vehicles. They build cars for over a century and still manage to **** things up because they are always aiming at low emissions under testing (range with EV's, and penny pinching with the production of the vehicles. Then there is the 3 week wait for Dealerships, yet VW Group supposedly had all these Mobile Techs that could go out and do the Emissions Fix. They might well need to be doing the same again if their latest models are going to strand owners. VW Assist going out with all the gear and more than a rough idea type thing.- Picking Fabia VRS estate up soon.
The Software, because they had to delay the delivery of SEAT Ibiza Cupra in 2013 once they had started production again in 2013 and there were 'issues'. Then strangely a member here got a early CTHE and they still did a Breather Mod and fitted the Oil Spray Jets when it used oil. What is strange about that is how did it leave the factory without the Updated breathers that were being retro fitted for over a year before they stopped building the CAVE's. Here is another one, not the one i meant. EDIT, the bottom one is. They did Breather Update and Squirters before then replacing the engine. - Spark Plugs
