  1. @J.R.What 'legislation', laws or myth is this about vehicles having to run for 100000kms without maintenance? (62,000 odd miles) Is this EU or Global? Where can we or me find this information? @Graham ButcherMaybe you might not last that long if you can not stop concerning yourself over something you have no control over. Maybe while you can by another near new car or new one before the date that the UK law / legislation changes and run it for the rest of your driving days. What a bunch of sh1tes those nasty politicians are and commissioners and bl00dy greens and spoil sports for die in the wool petrol heads or die in agony with breathing difficulties or cancers.
  2. 'Inspection' due after a year then because not reset properly. There is no Inspection anyway. The Oil Service is still counting down for another year is it not with the car on variable / flexible servicing. 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months.
  3. @tom1362What engine has your car and when do you know it was last serviced and what was done in the past 2 years?
  4. @tom1362Is your car currently set for Variable / Flexible servicing and not Fixed / Annual servicing so this is why you can not reset it the way you are trying to?
  5. Being able to carry fuel, go further, tow stuff and not have to be charging cars is fandabydozy. It has been how thing have been for many many decades and will be for many more. The issue is that Governments have decided that manufacturers and vehicles sold & registered in Europe including the UK require the manufacturers to meet average Co2 emission figures or pay penalties so the manufacturers are electrifying vehicles so that happens. Even using partner manufacturers that only manufacture electric cars. It is not complicated it is just how it goes and nobody has been forced to drive EV,s other than maybe Employees who are provided with what they drive and have to like it or lump it.
  6. That is 'Simply Clever' as a starting point.
  7. What reluctance? People are converting cars professionally & just as amateurs and insuring them now. As people do with ICE vehicles which have engine numbers and there are rules on what class of insurance write off can or can not have parts used. Many never report an accident or a rebuild / repair of a vehicle. I expect the Insurers might want to be acting with some degree of corporate responsibility and the UK Government & agencies DfT & DVSA . There are so many electrified vehicles around now and ones over a decade getting battery repairs, or replacements or just the rusty car welded and pretty much rebuilt. Maybe they will be more diligent than they are now with vehicle they sell that then are back on the roads with much of an inspection in lots of cases and maybe by not very qualified people. The techs / companies dealing with battery replacements & repairs seem pretty few and far between and knowledgeable but there will be cowboys as in every business or trade. Plenty are doing home conversions and might not even have an inspection & certification which is needed when installing a LPG system to an ICE.
  8. @thomasaspinor @Mickmartinmight be able to help you with any advice needed. ? Is the car going well and do you know what Map / Software it is running?
  9. We will see just which models survive the Euro 7 emissions introduction and which new type approved models are launched that have the new tech required as in the speed limiters and anything else and the cost of them and how many can be smaller cars not ridiculously expensive.
  10. That is how the trade is. The more there are and the more accidents then the more accident damage and the EV,s are designed so that the batteries have protection.
  11. @Crasher does he need a new battery?
  12. The pop up chargers at Dundee Waterfront are OK, but the trial ones kerb side in the town as so so, it is getting at them. http://drivedundeeelectric.co.uk/news/2022/10/24/urban-electric-retractable-kerbside-chargepoints
  13. Daimler Benz were the ones that licensed the SCR system, and they with VW & BMW conspired over the AdBlue tank sizes and part costs. They have a Government that supports the industry leaders and that is selectively blind, deaf and dumb. Those Renault engines in Mercedes were certainly emitting lots of emissions. But then VW took the huff with Suzuki using Fiat engines and not giving up all that it had learned on small capacity turbo engines and electrification. Eve of the scandal breaking. VW loses top spot as No.1 car manufacturer back to Toyota who lent Suzuki the money. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-34275917 http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-34340301
  14. German Manufacturers are really naughty, same group as the emission scandal. The manufacturers that were putting the money into diesel hybrids. They are cheeky chimps. @Graham Butcher this might interest you.
  15. It is when charger cables are not locked in. Not as annoying as those locked in and not charging. By tomorrow i will have done over 1,000 miles since the 10th. Charged free last night and this morning and paid less than £30 for electric (charging) in the past 2 weeks. (Charged once on a 3 pin charger, rest of the time on public chargers.)
  16. @Graham ButcherWe do not. If that we is England. As in excess electricity. Scotland has the excess and needs storage for the electricity that can be produced and even with the exporting it does to RoUK it still needs to transfer more.
  17. I suspect the tyres if the transport blocks are really removed. But if they were still there it would not be soft suspension. If the tyres are staying and the car is staying i would be taking it to a professional for a PROPER Alignment check. Someone / someplace with all the gear, knows how to use it and with all the scores on the doors for your vehicle.
  18. There are examples of about 20% of the 3,000 Fabia vRS 1.4 TSI Twinchargers having rebuilt or replacement engines and even replacement engines replaced and some replaced again. That also goes for the Twinchargers in VW,s, SEAT,s & Audi,s. Vorsprung Durch Technik. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/337104-cave-vs-cthe But then they were engine of the years over many years and new technology that VW never sorted but Volvo / Geely managed to when the CEO of VW North America bogged off after introducing Green Diesel Models / engines to the US, not getting the big boss job then going to Volvo, then GM and now a consultant for who ever. Stefan Jacoby. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/266114-18tsi-and-20tsi-engine-failures
  19. I know nothing about Porsche Taycan but watching that 1st vid surely the 'Onboard Charger' is for AC charging like with other EV,s. So i googled. http://newsroom.porsche.com/en_US/2022/products/porsche-taycan-on-board-charger-reduces-charging-times-30721.html http://media.porsche.com/mediakit/taycan/en/porsche-taycan/das-laden
  20. Both from 1 year ago. 3 years ago.
  21. Welcome. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/516023-rear-fog-light-issue-in-euro-zone
  22. Welcome. As well to ask in the Superb section and say what year of car you are getting. Do you not simply by the correct tail light unit for fitting to give you the fog light on the offside in France and then have it wired to work?
  23. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/246108-miltek-sports-cat-downpipe-fabia-vrs http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/422058-vrs-mk2-turbosports-cat-upgrade http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/412540-decat-ing-now-pointless http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/340157-how-good-are-the-catalytic-converters-in-the-fabia-vrs http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/212187-whos-changed-their-exhaust-then Go to the usual tuning companies in the UK and ask what they can supply you with. Try RTMG Try Awesome GTI etc http://rtmgperformance.com ? What else have you got done to your CAVE engine vRS?
  24. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/185258-skoda-felicia-vrs http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/198641-felicia-vr6-conversion http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/408634-skoda-felicia-vr6-pickup-conversion
  25. We are talking buying there again. Motability buy the cars, lease them and sell them in 3 years. Manufacturers own cars ultimately that are leased for 2 or 3 years and then sold as used. Same with Fleets, Local Authorities, Utility Companies etc. Then the Subscription schemes are what Boris,s supporter Lord Brownlow and others have invested in and expect to be big and it is supplying EV,s. All about Financial Services, Hedge Funds and Car Manufacturers that borrow money and lend money & need the turn over of vehicles. The Motor Trade / Used car market and financial services need the turn over of vehicles as well. Pyramid selling really.
