  1. Welcome. Where would the fun be coming from driving a Superb even with a V6 engine?
  2. Well soon it is a question that needs answering because there are car ferries doing journeys to the UK and away and from the mainland to islands or just crossing rivers. Lots of electric cars, motorbikes and commercial vehicles including electric ones. http://dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/record-north-sea-oil-revenues-30714453 @Graham ButcherThat oil and gas licences are there to have the oil and gas extracted and used, maybe as time goes by what stays in the British Isles might be used for purposes better than producing electricity & heating properties. Maybe down in the lower UK there will be more production of energy locally and less importing from overseas and from the northern parts. If there is to be Fracking then we know where that should be, where the biggest population and polluters are and where the highest demand is for energy and the least is generated but the lowest prices paid to buy it. ................ Nothing will be zero emissions or waste or use of materials regardless of how powered. If bothered just start walking or cycling but when soles of shoes wear down that muct be someplace around, and brake blocks or pads on bikes or the tread off the tyres
  3. I just had a wee look at the number of Ro-ro ships around the world and the size of them and the sort of wheeled vehicles they carry. The ones that might matter more to those in the UK are ferries leaving and arriving the UK with vehicles and passengers on board. Will there be restrictions on EV,s, PHEV,s or Hybrids travelling on them? Or using the Channel Tunnel. Are there restrictions now?
  4. You will find about half a dozen threads since the change was made in July in the UK. There is not much to debate, VW Group , VW, Skoda, SEAT & Audi have been taking the pith for a decade with UK owners / customers.
  5. Always worth doing a Briskoda search or just use a search engine and there often are threads with the stuff on Briskoda unless they are brand new cars and people have no experience or knowledge of them.
  6. Dealership manager called to apologise. Since my car was in the showroom on display the Type 2 to Type 2 Cable was used to plug into the display charger & overlooked when the car went to be prepped and overlooked as missing by whoever should have checked the kit. It is being couriered to me.
  7. Nothing to lose trying to sell privately or call into some local car Traders and see if they want to miss out the middle man as in the Auction and buy for Cash Money'. 'Facebook Market place', etc. You will get bothered by scammers and time wasters. BRISKODA Forum ' Cars for sale' s a good place to advertise a Skoda and it is inexpensive.
  8. So left with 96% on car and charger. 78 miles later I had 48%. Average speed of 46 mph. It showed 55 mile range. Stopped at Tesco for grubb and plugged in for 15 minutes free charging. Last week the charger was cutting out after 10 minutes and I did not know if it was the Corsa or the chargers fault. Well 30 minutes later the car is still charging. I never 'claimed the charger' so not paying, never used the App to keep charging. Now need to find out if charger faulty, or is this the BMW / MINI partner chargers and it is charged and go. FREE. The other day a lady with a Motability car told me she never pays with Charge Place Scotland chargers and I said because they are free in her region but she said she charges where there is a tariff and it is still free, Motability pay. When I called Motability the other day to say BP Pulse had not been in touch to register my free subscription and £9 a month credit that call handler said just use CPS chargers. I explained they were not free everywhere. Looks like it is me not getting all the story but it is not from a lack of looking. Tempted to stay on this FREE charger longer but din dins calls. I will try here again later and see if I have found the Golden Ticket for Willy Wonka charging. A Karoq sandwich.
  9. 820 miles done. Sussed the car now. 90 miles motorway from a 99% battery and arrived with it showing 28 miles range but 32% battery. It was showing 3.8- 4.2 miles a kWh. In sport and low regen and AC on and set at 16*oC. Outside is 18-21 degrees. Used now to no lane keep assist which I usually like and had for the past 3 years. Car runs straight and smooth and then darts about. As to tailgaters. They are to slow on the accelerator really. The MINI has very strong windscreen washing schoshers. Great for putting their wipers on. As for EV,s. Well they are pretty much trucking about below the speed limits. The accelerator is stiff, very stiff! needs pushed quite a lot so my seat is further forward and I am getting used to it. In Mid or Green the pedal needs pushed that hard and far down that I only tried then and will use them with Cruise Control on but that seems to not improve efficiency or range. Tyres are great, ride is great. Car is like an oven in the sun with so much glass and the AC is needed. Opening the windows is noisy and frameless there are no wind deflectors to fit. That is going to be a pity when sitting charging in rain or snow so it will be a case of the heater, demister being on when in the car. Chargers damn quick anyway and if every 100 miles or say 75 miles in winter then that is the penalty to pay. About paying. Now I am charging at Stirling park and ride. 24 minutes on the rapid and started with 48kW and now it is doing 33kW and I am at 84%. The 40 minute limit will be fine in this weather for the 80 miles until home. In winter it will need to be 40 mins on the rapid then on the 11kW AC untill maybe 98%. Long story long, loving it and a less than 30 kWh usable car can do as well as a 45kW usable car. Maybe even better when nipping on. The Corsa was 3.1 - 3.5 miles a kWh on the same roads, same speed, same weather. On all season tyres though . And as comfy.
  10. I never asked Motability how much they would sell me the Corsa Electric for and i have not seen what it will go for at auction. Looking at Auttotrader today there are 2020 20 or 70 plate Corsa electrics with a couple of thousand miles with asking prices of under £15,000, and ones with under 20,000 miles for under £14,000. Some were under £30,000 RRP and the top spec as i had was just over £35,000 3 years ago. That is some depreciation but then Motability paid nothing like that to buy them and they received over £11,000 in 3 years in payments and with mine i paid £1,700 advance payment. I did get £600 back with the 'Good condition payment' (£350 last year & £250 this week) & £750 yesterday into my bank for leased a new car
  11. Just as well there are those vehicles around that are MOT & VED exempt by age. Clearly there had to be a good reason for the UK Governments introducing such a scheme. ............ There is already a lot of EV,s & EV batteries being transported around the globe in ships and on rail and by road let alone those being driven in vehicles.
  12. That is what happens sadly when you do nothing to fix them.
  13. Welcome. Hopefully someone will be along that can figure all that out. How long had you the car before it started using a liter of oil every 100 miles. I hope somehow you stop getting ripped off. PS. The correct oil was 5w 30 FS III so long life and the spec is VW504 00 / 507 00. These things matter.
  14. @Graham Butcher You quoted 46 minutes ago what i typed about in the comments someone posted about the electric MINI Cooper loaded on deck 8 at Bristol. Are we all dealing with a full deck here?
  15. @Graham ButcherI do not know which ships take in the Mazda and Dacia ICE & Hybrids and BEV,s and other manufacturers models into Bristol Port and unload and then load Jaguar Land Rovers and others and if MINI,s get loaded before a ship might head to the Continent to get loaded some more. @lol-lolmight just know.
  16. I see in the comments someone posted about the electric MINI Coopers on level 8 which were loaded at Bristol.
  17. Maybe instead of cracking jokes about not being a hybrid look into how they managed to get the WLTP results and how the battery and charging operates. Stop / start is a joke with Skoda and is more often not operating as it should with many driver. Skoda / VW group are installing about as crap batteries as they can.
  18. You can only lead a horse to water.
  19. There was near 6,000 penalty fines issued for the Glasgow low emission zone which is twice what we're issued the first month. The first month non-compl is any vehicles received a maximum of one fine. Articles say that fines totalling £600,000 have been issued so far.
  20. There are threads in the Superb & Octavia sections on chargers for the PHEV,s and in the Enyaq & Electric car section maybe in the Citigo one, Maybe worth a search for those until you get a reply. I know nothing about them other than what those that seem to post on them. As to tethered or un-tethered, tethered might mean the lead is not pinched if you have a untethered and leave your lead at home with the charger.
  21. Maybe common for those to see that commonly. Mechanics, techs, tyre fitters, MOT examiners, police / traffic examiners. Drivers or passengers or street sweepers So is that 1 in every 10 cars or in 20? Plenty members here have cars and either have cracked tyres now or have in the past, or maybe never been aware of cracking of their vehicles tyres.
  22. @Powerredi would look closer where advertised or on a configurator and see the disclaimer. If it is a Dealers advert for the particular car you bought then maybe there is something to raise with them. The issue is what they have as spec for interior and exterior that they often use, but then there might be a disclaimer as well as it appears on Autotrader or elsewhere.
  23. That is a 7 speed automatic then. (DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG, and good spec.) Wheel spin or sometimes a slow reaction / lag can be the car sitting a while and needs an Italian Tune-Up, Serviced, new fuel in, or how you drive or not used to them or motoring journalists say they do that, and many that drive them know they do not all do that. If she wants a manual then best get a manual. Many with a DSG will never go back to manuals.
  24. Welcome. Can you clear up the 2015 1.4 TSE. No such car from Skoda. Mk3 Fabia 1.2 TSI,s Euro 6 from 2014 there are until the 1.0 TSI replaced them. Mk2 Fabia Euro 5 from 2009-2014 there are 1.4 TSI.s. Sold in 2015 still maybe. Mk3 Fabia, Euro 6 , 2014 / 2015 you get a 1.4 TDI 3 cylinder. Diesel, which was discontinued later. The thing about not many of what you want is you only want one and sometimes you have to travel to get it. Megabus. Examples. 90 or 110 ps 1.2 TSI's and not Monte Carlos.
