the truth about electric cars
£750 including VAT on an Inspection service even with a pollen filter change is quite an hourly rate. (No sign of pollen filter replaced.) But then there will be those that do not find the need to have Porsche Main Dealer Servicing if they own a car. If they lease one and have no Service & Maintenance plan they might well be splashing the cash at the Main Dealers. But as we know in the EU or just in the UK now it is a free market and the warranty is not invalidated by the correct servicing or 'Inspection services'. ? Did one front and 1 rear tyre get replaced?

the truth about electric cars
The video was not there but i remembered what he said as i have a very good memory, and i just had to link the video. 2nd Video he says it is on lease. Then goes on about when he bought it. Acts daft for affect; Havers, as we call it in McMaster land, the land of Haggis which he had before.

@Graham ButcherWhat was he moaning about the valuation on it for then? Bought or bought with borrowed money is not leased. Audi A8 diesel Fuel tank 72 liters. 50 MPG was good.

the truth about electric cars
There will be Taycan batteries from accident damaged written off cars that have been tested and passed as safe and used again. Just as with TESLA and other manufacturers. Maybe Porsche would prefer that they were not but it is a free market.

the truth about electric cars
It is interesting and in the end he will tell the story and if his car needed a battery his insurance would be covering the cost of it. It is just annoying how clicking on his vids and linking them pays for the car he says has lost him so much money because he paid so much to buy it on finance. For him there is a Guide dog for the pretend stupid person in training. PS It really has worried him that the Battery Pack might be damaged and it was showing overheating but he just put off getting it looked at, posted a clickbait vid first. Brain for thinking and half a brain with him. PPS He is the kind of **** that when at Trump Turnberry just plugged in and left the car in the bay even when not charging. Also filmed while in the dining room having breakfast and showed others there how might just not have been there with who they should be. Did the trip to Scotland with not the smallest of genning up on chargers, charger speeds. This will earn him another farthing.

Thinking of buying and looking for info.
'S' for crawling along in walking pace traffic as well. Then come winter and slippy roads or snow on roads at slow speeds in town you can stay off the brake pedal pretty much and as you want to slow just move from D back to S and then into D to move off and reduce any wheel spin / slippage.

the truth about electric cars
The 25% figure will be from the same people that will tell you your brake pads / discs are 80% worn. That really is the biggest load of guff from the country that has no idea how many people are in the country or properties are subdivided. No idea how many people actually live in multi-story buildings. (eg Grenfell Tower Block.)

the truth about electric cars
It certainly not and recalls are important and actually getting them publicised and the vehicles in and fixed. That is not well done in the UK and the DfT/ VOSA are far too lax. Outstanding Recalls or just notice of recalls are going to be flagged at UK Mots. Pity really the print out on a piece of paper is never looked t by many. more like a receipt than a MOT Certificate as was & many are non the wiser about advisories. It might be the case eventually that an Outstanding Safety Recall means a Major Fail @ a MOT, and EV,s that require Recall Actions can get an Over The Air Warning to the Driver that the car will immobilise in 7 days, and EV Dealerships / Manufacturers can get their Mobile Technicians out to the vehicles. VW Group had to put out Mobile Techs to get the Defeat Device Recall action moving a bit quicker. Tesla Dealers put out mobile techs.

When they can that will be a forward step then. Lots of people are in the H&S business. There are lots of BMW EV,s being recalled according to the Daily Mail. Well so they should be.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher I think you keep missing the point, maybe not explained by me what i want to know. Maybe there are answers in those links so thank you. How many EV,s or electrified vehicles burn out or are on fire might appear in statistics, but how many go on fire without being in a building that goes on fire or are set on fire maliciously or just for insurance claims. Or how many get caught in fires like at a dealership or storage where it was maybe an ICE vehicle that went up first. ...................... Was it an EV that started the fire and did they not all catch fire?

Spare wheel kit
Reduce your speed anyway even if no sticker on the Emergency Spare wheel you have since it is a non matching wheel / tyre / size / compound / tyre pressure to the other wheels on the car or on the other side on the same axle even if the circumference / total diameter is pretty close or even identical IMO. Just think about it, and rest the TPMS when the spare is on and again when the correct tyre is fitted.

Skoda Octavia 1.5 tsi dsg7 etec 2021
The answer is then disable it / switch off, to see if it is enabled and having an adverse affect like weaving the car where there are lane marking. PS First days with new tyres / cars they have 'Green Tyres' so as well as checking / resetting tyre pressures and the TPMS, you have to Run / Wear them in a bit and not just treat them like used tyres on a used car. So many brand new cars / demonstrators, are in accidents before getting far from collection because of new tyres and drivers not engaging their brain.

I have 4 Michelin Primacy 4 sitting with just a few miles done from new that were taken off after a week of getting my New Corsa electric & hve sat for 3 years. They were crap and i might as well dump them because i would not give them to my worst enemy. On Friday new all season tyres are going on my new Mini Electric because the GoodYear F1 tyres it came with are actually even worse than those Primacy 4 were on the Corsa. (205/45 R 17,s in both cases) ECO Tyres, not by price but by design to give more miles and use less fuel by having less friction / grip & ultimately safety for you, loved ones and innocent people around you IMO.

Skoda Karoq ...Reduce Oil Level warning...advice needed?
@ADG2023You were lucky finding a mechanic but what a lazy **** to not just suck out a bit of oil via the dip stick tube. IMO. It is a concern, it concerned you and your car appears not not be an excessive oil user so that over fill no matter how small amount will stay high for a good while. No concern to the mechanic if a bit too much oil in enough to give a warning because it is not their vehicle bought or paid for with their hard earned money. I wonder if their boss / employer would be impressed if it was their Management car / Demonstrator giving a reduce oil warning and the Technician / Fitter / Mechanic said just ignore it. PS If a 1.5 TSI ACT then no idea what a 1.4 TSI has to do with anything.

Skoda Octavia 1.5 tsi dsg7 etec 2021
? What tyres are fitted / Brand? What pressures do you have them at for the load carried? Did the dealership take the car into the workshop for their Master Tech to inspect and check the transport blocks were removed at the PDI?

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcherwhile they have their lawyers, media / spin teams and vloggers and bloggers and tame journalists i have 1 good working ear, not bad eye sight if i read with my glasses and a pretty good memory for where i hear or see a story so i will keep them honest. Gobby people like me will be making sure they are called out. Those that are in the Car Industry and support industries can no longer get away with 'Never heard of that before', or 'They all do that'. Social media / internet has brought an end to 'The 3 monkeys' type behaviour.

- the truth about electric cars
You are posting the horror stories. Please find the actual horror stories of UK EV,s going on fire while parked or the ones on fire because of accidents and maybe those deaths or horrific injuries from the Electrified car fires. 2 Briskoda members have posted about their Skoda,s going on fire when parked. No Briskoda members have posted about their EV,s going on fire, but then there are so few members that seem to have EV,s, or PHEV,s or Mild Hybrids. Maybe in a few years we will here of more sad incidents. That is not a high statistic / percentage considering how many Briskoda members have a Skoda and how many years the forum has been going. Even if it is 3 vehicles or a few more that never were posted about onthe forum. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511114-my-skoda-octavia-mk3-got-caught-on-fire http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/457559-octavia-2014-diesel-vrs-thermal-incident http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/451182-never-thought-this-would-be-the-last-drive- the truth about electric cars
I forget to turn off EV,s before getting out and do not realise until i can not lock the car. That has been with different cars. With the Corsa i once went back to it after having just nipped into my Mums to get something and got delayed and forgot i had put it just in P and not turned off the car and the key was not out of distance. When i went out and went to move it shut down as it said drive and brake error and i switched off, left it 10 minutes and all was well. The other day i tried remotely switching on the Pre-Heating in the MINI and then went out to see if it had started heating the interior and it had, and then i could not figure how to turn it off other than starting the car. Then i tried again starting remotely and stopping remotely and i have not figured that out yet as it did not just do it from the phone. Easy enough to start pre heating in error from a phone maybe for Mericans. - the truth about electric cars
