Greenline 1.6 or 4x4 2.0?
@Gwilodid your 1.6TDI Golf get the 'emissions fix' carried out and with no adverse affect? You will have to be pretty sure that a 9 year old Greenline is ok as far as that goes. As far as tyre circumference / diameter, that is what you would be increasing if you were going to change things. Maybe just with tyres and not changing the wheels.

DSG & autohold/handbrake
@tgoIt does a job does it not that suits many & if you done need it then no issue having it. 'Hill hold / Hill hold assist' does exactly what it needed to do. As to it with autos, 2 pedals used with one foot, If you were stopped on an up slope maybe at lights / pedestrian crossing with an automatic / dsg and never applied the parking brake / hand brake it allowed the move from brake pedal to accelerator without the car running back before moving forward. 'Autohold' came in after 'Hill hold / hill hold assist', and some Auto models or manuals still do not get 'Audohold' or e-Brakes.

the truth about electric cars
@domhnallI will charge no place as that is me finished with EV's for a year or 3. Probably for good as not sure i will renew my driving licence in a year. *For now and if driving in LEZ's the smelly diesel is exempt because it is VED class 'Disabled'. Over £60 million of public money put to the Public Charging network and lots of it went to BP / CPS and also to Swarco doing the backshop for BP and then just for CPS and also them doing the Maintenance on e-Volt chargers Swarco sell. Now these old chargers and ones that received grants are no longer repairable & many owners of Chargers Grant Aided charge very high tariffs or no longer have the chargers on the network. ........................ I am always with the car when charging and just take in what i need while there and if there are others arrive needing on a rapid i move to a 7 kW charger or charge later on when chargers are available and not in demand, (If someone has not just used them as a parking place and blocked it's use.) Most of my charging when in and around home is at Tesco plugging in each 15 minutes a few time as i am time rich and the car seat has been dead comfy and getting in and out has not been an issue, now that my back is really bad it is not so handy for my 'aim to run an EV as cheaply as possible'. The Rapid Charging near home is just when i do need to get in enough electric quickly for doing a longer run that day or the next. I have to get a charge in at least every 120 miles on runs of over 120 miles. That is just how it is with small battery cars. The carry on of charging hubs like in Edinburgh of trying more than one charger to just get a charge and the 30 mins max charge time is just ridiculous. That is really about the BP Pulse chargers though. I see Clackmannanshire council are to give a 10% discount on the ridiculous tariff they will be charging in the region. This is like Dundee did but which was widely abused and has been dropped. Dundee has a sensible enough tariff and charging time rules in place.

Skoda noob Looking for buyer advice
A 1.8tsi which might have issues engine wise has a DQ200 7 speed DSG which has no maintenance but can have issues. A 2.0 TSI which could have similar engine issues had a totally different 6 speed wet clutch DSG which does require oil and filter changes at 40,000 miles, so maintenance.

the truth about electric cars
Free charging and no time limit is a PITA. Even limited rapids and time limits can be. Just 1 rapid charger at Turnberry and out of service and the one rapid at Girvan harbour had someone plugging their Ioniq 5 2 hours ago when I got here. It stopped charging an hour ago but was locked in. That is 2 hours I have sat on the 7kW before getting onto the rapid to get enough charge in for traveling tonight. Chargers were playing up at Park and Ride Stirling. There are only 4 rapids and one was off. I pointed out to a Porsche Taycan driver that there is a 40 minute max charge time then it is £1 a minute. He just stays on as long as need be and it works out at about 80 pence a kWh. 35 pence a kWh for 40 mins then the £1. Not being in the mood for giving abuse or discussing his charging habits as I normally might, like why not go around to the commercial charger and pay 79 pence a kWh at the Osprey charger next to the eatery nearby I just left him to it. As they went off to get something to eat.

You should be rejecting it. But that was within 30 days. You are at 29. http://autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/105951/your-rights-when-buying-a-used-car- Which DSG gearbox for MY 23 1.5 SE L
@tgoNovember 2019 i got £600 at handback. When i bought a used car using 4 years HP from Motability i never had to pay the final year because that was them stopping doing that. Back in 2003 i bought a new Jimny with the 5 years HP you could get and got a good deal on it and kept it for 17 years.- Which DSG gearbox for MY 23 1.5 SE L
@tgoDid you get your good condition payment early last year? I did and am not expecting any more after hand over. EDIT. Just checked what they said, £350 2022 and £250 at hand back. PS. I see i got the £350 1st November.- Which DSG gearbox for MY 23 1.5 SE L
So you are not buying it Motability are. No worries then about the DSG or anything else. My Corsa Electric goes back in August and it has been a right lemon, the worst of i think 13 cars from motability. The last 3 weeks off the road was an auto gearbox fault and it does not even have an Auto box as such. (I got loss of use payment from Motability.) I was looking at a Kamiq 1.5 TSI ACT / DSG if not going PHEV, but have decided not to spend £11,000 over 3 years leasing from Motability again. Even though i get £750 towards the next cars Advance payment.)- Adblue miles remaining inconsistent
Have you not had the car since new? Is this your first topping up? If it was below 1,000 miles it should have warned you that it could fail to start. Time really to top it up as per Manual, not over fill and enough for it to register. When it was dropping rage was it not in 500 mile intervals?- Deleted
As far as Customer Services do you mean this shower? You need to get beyond the contractor to Skoda / VW Employees, The Executive team'.- DSG repair costs-should skoda pay
It is a VW Group wide issue, but then it is Skoda that manufactured at one point around 2,500 a day DQ200 DSG for the VW Group models. That was in 48 applications. At 2,300 last year. http://team-bhp.com/forum/technical-stuff/247951-skoda-auto-has-produced-its-four-millionth-dq200-dsg-automatic-gearbox.html http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/513578-very-strange-fault- Which DSG gearbox for MY 23 1.5 SE L
I would buy the extended warranty for 4 or 5 years just in case your circumstance change. DSG Clutch Packs are covered under the warranty, but really that is not the common issue.- Deleted
Not any useful ideas other than that is a very noisy shifter and one that likely has already had a repair of the common fault. Maybe the replacement under warranty or the cheaper reapair. So the Warranty History is important. What repairs / fault fixing have you had already with the car? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505730-weird-error-message-only-leave-vehicle-in-position-p- Which DSG gearbox for MY 23 1.5 SE L
Fingers crossed. Pretty much sorted from 2018. Apart from the few here and there we hear about and the ones we never will, but that is just Skoda / VW and over a decade to get them sorted and still things can go wrong. But then 2018 was 5 years ago now so we will see if any issues with them. But if you have this as a keeper best maybe have a warranty that covers the DSG that goes beyond the manufacturers one. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/513192-dsg-repair-costs-should-skoda-pay- Rear End Protection
@Inverkip-Ian The sticker was just to remind me of the death of the Mazda, I was a car sprayer and pretty much cared about my keepers & as i can use disabled bays can try to keep them away from those that could not care. I got a black 11 year old Volvo S60 that had months of birds poo on it and dings and had it immaculate in a few days and the first time i parked at Tesco someone ran a trolley into it and along the side. When i asked what they were going to do about paying they said it was just an old car. Ye right. I have pretty well given up on cherishing vehicles these days.- Which DSG gearbox for MY 23 1.5 SE L
- Rear End Protection
I was crossing from the pavement to the other side and get in my Jimny parked at the other side on a one way road. I waited or a car to come along and it went and parked in in front of me and the old bint tried to reverse into a space that was not there and right into the drivers side bull bar with the force to push it into the wing. They are like Chocolate Fireguards, (Easier to push in than pull back out.) I was shouting at her to stop as she revved harder in reverse, then she drove off. (I have a picture of the bumper on my 110 Land Rover. An idiot pulled out on me at a junction and i locked up the brakes and tore up the tar doing and emergency stop. wrote off his car and bent the bumper on the Landy. So i put the Skull & Crossbones sticker there.)- Tesla price drop UK 2023. Changing times, changing market. If they can pile them high and shift them cheaper. Or is it like a 'fire sale' make money while you can.
Plenty vans and even lorries manage to stay on their own side on country roads and you see spaces where many would say 'you can get a bus through there' yet those in a Tesla X can not.- Tesla price drop UK 2023. Changing times, changing market. If they can pile them high and shift them cheaper. Or is it like a 'fire sale' make money while you can.
Lane Keep Assist must get disable lots by drivers of Tesla X or just be set to gentle as many of them seem to not be able to drive within lane or on their own side of the road out in country roads like around Scotland. Left hand drive might mean they can stay nearer the verge road side. There are very much a type of driver that does seem to have them around my way and they could do with learning how 'Self parking works'.- Rear End Protection
So the answer is not really a little protector stuck on. A Red & White cone sitting next to the corner of the car is hardy an offence sitting within the bay. As happens at many a pothole or wall / fence. But it will likely get pinched.- Rear End Protection
@Inverkip-IanThey did go towards solving it with the Citroen Cactus and then there are other vehicles with not painted bumpers and even ones that deform and go back into shape. Looks like even a shorted vehicle will not help with the idiots that hit your car.- Rear End Protection
I used to fit the Rubber stick on protectors just because i did have loved ones and not as loved ones that did not reverse that well. Fitted now because it is me that is prone to getting near strainer posts reversing. - Deleted
