  1. & on other models there is room to fit the Full size wheel / rim on the car and not push the floor up. You might need to put the wheel off the car in there anyway, deflated or inflated. Others might not fit under the boot floor and have space. It is the VW Group / Skoda, they do Spares in Sizes to be near enough for many models / trims across the brands.
  2. Good stuff, but you were getting a display of Average 80.3 last year. Showing average speed of 37 mph. & 81.2 mpg @ 39 mph. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/503738-fuel-economy Small things can make differences. 0w 30 FS III instead of 5w 30 FS III, fresh spark plugs, fresh air filter, a few extra psi in the tyres and cooler air rather than warmer with a turbo as cooling an engine uses energy. Talking the difference here spring / summer type weather, but then if the oil / coolant is at temp a colder road surface has less friction / traction and the cold air is denser. But then we are just talking 1.2 TSI's here even if they have 140ps after a remap. Not all E5 Super Unleaded is equal but it will meet the minimum octane. Neither is E10 but it will also meet the minimum ron.
  3. @J.R.There are various threads about on the not putting enough in to have it register. More on the Failures of the SCR / Adblue system and Dealership staff accusing the owner of overfilling, even when it was a dealership that did the topping up. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496004-adblue-error http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461221-early-adblue-top-up @J.R.eg http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/467271-adblue http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/446243-adblue http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/476331-can-i-reset-adblue-warning-after-daft-mistake
  4. They have been calling them 'Full size' for a long time. They save space but are not Space Savers as in Skinny tyres. That does not mean the full or identical size to the tyre / wheel it will be going on to replace.
  5. When you have a Hand brake / parking brake rather than an e-Brake applying it a little will do a better job on the rear discs.
  6. @Coburg@Hairy_Joegot one fitted. That is in Ireland. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502882-vrs-engine-cover-recall/page/4
  7. Skoda / VW Group fit any old crap from their major suppliers and when the cars were not correctly aligned on the production line or just for right hand drive they blamed the Tyres but continued to use those same brands. There was a decade plus of 'Pulling to the left' threads. The solution that Skoda / VW had when owners really did not let it rest was to fit tyres that were XL. / Reinforced sidewalls. Usually the Pirelli Zero Nero. So XL tyres not just for extra weight when you read the bumff but common for that use & reinforced sidewalls certainly did not stop many a 205/40 R 17 tyre get destroyed. Margins for enthusiast owners even Granny or Grandad racers.
  8. ^^^ Coast as in go into Neutral as in rolling along. Nothing to do with 'Coasting mode' as in the car disengages gear and reengages with a touch of the accelerator or brake pedal. @VenomVrshas your car a DSG?
  9. More use of recycled parts and more economic repairs are part of the answer, as well as everyone down the line not filling their boots from the first call that there has been an accident. There are companies better than others, and there is some very pathetic actions by some Insurers as members here know only too well. There are some ridiculous prices charged on replacement new parts & also huge profits to be made by those involved in the re-sale of Insurance write offs and accident damage un economic repairs that others then economically repair and they are then back in the motor trade on sale. (That is not all DIY'ers not counting their time.)
  10. @137699 What a shame such as design classic as the Yeti that there were not that many sold in the UK over the 8 year production have hundreds of them being scrapped. Is is manly accident damaged ones or something more major causing the premature demise?
  11. @John2022when you say yours came with a full size spare is that a matching size tyre / wheel to the 4 on the car and the same make of tyre on a steel wheel? What size?
  12. XL Tyres were fitted to Mk2 Fabia vRS or Monte Carlo including TSI's as standard. All of 105 ps. 205/40 R 17's/ Mk3 came in 15",16", 17" and even the option from the factory of 18". 215's on 16 & 17" ones.
  13. 215/45r 16 hardly a fashion statement. That was Skoda kidding people that the cars revised platform from the MK2 Fabia had a wider track. Also a wider body because of the Tornado line.
  14. Guest_ replied to simonb82's topic in Skoda Enyaq
@simonb82if those are actual drivers of Enyaq 80's that only get 2.5 miles per kWh in the UK @ 73 mph max & 60 mph average in cold weather and on the OE tyres then obviously that is not enough for you if you get that kind of cold weather. If it is just people claiming that but not actually driving the cars that is a different matter. Maybe some members here with a 80 will get around to replying to your post.
  15. Taxation by weight & Congestion Charges by weight will have to be introduced in the UK for EV's. Charge for use in Towns / Cities and even passing into village speed limit signs extra for every empty available seat. Time that the Manufacturers are encouraged by governments to build and sell small ones. Like the Average Fleet C02 figures have them required to meet Average Kerb Weight & dimension figures.
  16. So that was DQ250's. Anyone with a DQ381 has a different kettle of fish. They might want it done before the 80,000 miles that VW / Skoda have as a recommendation, guidelines or even schedule. Also want to have the filter changed.
  17. If they did not have a 2016 Fabia but a 2006 Fabia it might be on 14" wheels and cheaper still. But they are where they are with what they have.
  18. A new rim is not 4 smaller rims and 4 tyres. ? Are you on commission? @Carlstonyou never tell us where you are in the world or what you drive or do for a living? Do you buy take offs and resell them? PS Some peoples tyres lose no readable amount of air between each time they adjust pressures or check them. Some cars sit for years going no place and the drop in pressure in the tyres is minimal. But that the real world and not what some wish to have anyone beleive.
  19. Fuel consumption can improve with more bhp / torque if you drive at the same speed as the engine had standard and you just get up to speed quicker and lift off. Otherwise it really is not remapping for economy and more spirited driving. @Ste jIs the map with that increase in power for running on 97/99 Super Unleaded E5. http://projectremaps.co.uk/remapping
  20. BlackCircle & ATS Euromaster are owned by Michelin. Asda Tyres, BlackCircles and others all have local tyre fitters as choices when you buy tyres, choices delivered or fitted. Halfords Tyre centres are all a bit of a mystery when it comes to checking on-line, or at the Tyre Centres they have taken over. The computer might say no, and the Centre staff say yes. The UK is not a place difficult to get tyres fitted. Tyres and Exhaust Centres might well be able to offer the tyres fitted cheaper than the Online price, and with ATS Euromaster often they are fitting tyres that you order from BlackCircles cheaper than they can quote you buying from them if you stand at the desk and ask the price of tyres.
  21. @Carlston Not everyone with an issue with tyres / punctures need or want smaller wheels or narrower tyres than their vehicle has.
  22. @lol-lolThe councillors are not going to be meeting and reducing the cost of EV charging again this year and the cost will not reduce next year. Aberdeenshire really is the worst next to Highland region. They are supposedly going to spend on more hubs and improved ones. & Highland Region is supposedly looking at generating their own electricity. This is all GREEN HOGFWASH. Pure kidology. Their Charger Maintenance / Maintenance Provider is pathetic. 'Who might that be? SWARCO. http://aberdeenlive.news/news/aberdeen-news/aberdeenshire-council-unveil-plans-expand-8114056 http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-65707730 70 pence a kWh Rapid charging. http://highland.gov.uk/info/1210/environment/943/electric_vehicle_infrastructure/2 WTF 'Unplanned journey'. Some people just want to get someplace north of Inverness and get away and on their way and not sit plugged in for hours.
  23. @lol-lolit is a 51 kW battery usable. 4 miles per kWh x 51 is 204 miles. 5 miles per kWh x 51 is 255 miles. So if as i get now it is 3.6 miles a kWh then 184 miles, or my motorway colder weather 3.1 miles max = 158. I am going up north of Aberdeen this week. Aberdeenshire Public Rapid chargers now 47 pence a kWh and most i would need to use out of order. Tesco PodPoint is 44 pence, 49 pence or 62-69 pence a kWh for rapids. Osprey 79 pence a kWh. Hence not taking Corsa Electric. Then from Wednesday local chargers are going to 41 pence a kWh, 7,11 or 50 kWh.
  24. @jimbojames Metal Magic / Putty might just work long enough until you get a new pan. Any Superstore DIY near you open tonight or at least tomorrow? Evo-Stick Hard & Fast / Rapid steel type thing. I do not have those here but i would use 'Superglue & Bicarbonate of soda with a little patch of tin foil just covering the hole and the edge of glue before i applied the glue and bicarb of soda. I trained @ 'Kerbside Auto's'. where a deal was done on a handshake!. (A dab of underseal or black paint, even shoe polish and who knew what was under that.)
