Pug E-2008 Thoughts & any issues?
@Colin170CRunless you have driven one for more than test rides i would arrange a 'loan or hire EV' from who ever lends out Demonstrators as they should and not just have the employees running them up to 3,000 miles. Do your usual trip away from home if that is usually in Superb and be sure the EV suits. Even if the trip does not require public charging just try it out. Unless the EV is just for more local use. I borrowed my sons BMW estate again and that has made my mind up that the Corsa goes back in 3 months. Just a pity that is £71 a week i pay until it goes back. I was back and fore to hospital a few times a day for the last 4 weeks and luckily did not need to be charging on public chargers because now up here there are too many EV's for those wanting to use them and there are crazy greedy drivers doing 100% charging and just plugging in to park. Then the total muppets in Petrols & Diesels using EV bays just because they were available.

Future Hybrid Kodiaq
'Mild hybrid' is what is called by some 'Self charging'. e-Tech or what ever term. So for Euro 7 that would likely be 1.5 TSI Mild Hybrid, 1.4 TSI PHEV unless they do them with 1.5 TSI for PHEV's.

EPC & Engine light with horrible gear changes DSG200
It should not need towed if just a coil or plug, or lead, but that depends on them going to get, being a Sunday etc etc. Location location location. PS. Towing is with front wheels on a Dolly. or on a trailer or flatbed. Not wheels on the road. DQ200 DSG. do not tow with it in N and no engine running any more than a few yards / metres to a place of safety.

EPC & Engine light with horrible gear changes DSG200
Have you got Breakdown cover that has a responder that will plug the car in read the codes, look at the simple stuff before recovering a vehicle. Like Skoda Assist /AA or RAC etc. Find the simple fault that the mechanic or tech missed or caused, rather than loading the car and transporting it. Different but similar. For those with this engine.

EPC & Engine light with horrible gear changes DSG200
Assume nothing. You have the EPC light, you could have had the Exhaust Emissions light as well, or Limp Mode. Do not assume because the plugs come Pre-gapped that they checked the gap anyway. Or never knocked a plug putting one in. Or that they actually do have the correct plugs. But likely it is the coils, or one. Even just a breather pipe not back on correctly or any of the other things that get coc-ked up at a simple replacing of spark plugs. 'We do them every day, we can do them with our eyes shut, this is our profession'.

@JamesGornell You have the various threads already on the DQ200 DSG and New Zealand had things better than Europe over Recalls. So the tech / mechanic has quite possible damaged the ignition coils, or the connections, so that issue needs addressed. They are going to check the fault codes, see if mis-fires are logged and remove the coils, and probably charge you for new ones. A car needs Consumables like Spark Plugs, Air Filters changed. Failing spark plugs can cause ignition coils to fail. As it is these need to be checked, maybe replaced, because of the issue of someone being a bit rough. ? What spark plugs were you charged for, have you got that on the Invoice? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/363337-removing-coil-packs-how-difficult Obviously not all are the same, but not that much different. The right tool is simple and the best and any tool should manage with that. This way is what is an issue when some do it.

DSG 6 speed or seven speed
You are in the UK as i can see to the left. So people have to check your profile or assume where the vehicles you are asking about are sold in. Not all see that if on a phone. 6 Speed DSG's are still used in some other world regions including Australia i think. (where the Emissions cheat with WLTP regimes does not matter.) They were always on about doing a 10 speed DSG which really is like using a CVT. Not for practicality, to get low emissions. Then it turns out VW like cars getting good test results but stuff the driving behaviour on actual roads with drivers paying for the cars. PS In other World Regions you can get the Excellent 1.4 TSI without ACT and with an 8 speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Practical car that uses fuel, emits emissions and gets the test results true to consumption without the WLTP crap. Now Skoda / VW are going electrified for Euro 7 and the WLTP / RDE2. Already the Mild Hybrid 1.0 or 1.5 TSI have the DQ200-e, The Plug in 1.4 TSI or 1.5 TSI is a 6 speed DSG not a DQ250 but a DQ400-e.

Karoq Tyres
What size wheels and tyres are on your Karoq? The fitters where ever you get them might say they will only put the new ones on the rear. (moving the rears to the front, so you need to say where you want the new tyres.) ? What tyres are on now, and have they never been swapped front to rear at any time? The issue is if you fit All Season / All Weather type tyres to the front you have the original summers / ECO bias tyres still on the rear? You will get plenty telling you that is just not 'simply clever' & fit matching Type / size / compound etc etc. Is your Karoq a FWD 1.5TSI DSG, not an AWD?

Considering an Enyaq
My Corsa Electric is going back in August at 3 years old. I have done 50,000 miles for under £500 with Free charging, low cost public and a few times a month 35-45 pence a kWh charges. I think i have had the best of much cheapness, and have only plugged in to a 3 pin at home for pre heating. My home tariff as now is 32 pence. Local Council 50 kW charging still cheap at 23 pence a kWh for a little while yet. so 40 kWh would be £12.80 and i get 3.5 miles per kWh and that could be 140 miles. The battery usable for me is just 45kWh, and thats cheap enough, but charging away from my home area is getting to be a PITA, unreliable chargers at up to around 50 pence a kWh. Above 50 pence a kWh is where it is not worth the hassle of chargers over just running a petrol or even a Plug in Hybrid for local use. £20 for 40kWh charge and 135-140 miles. Much simpler and less messing about just getting 50 mpg or a bit more with an ICE or petrol hybrid IMO.

Considering an Enyaq
Welcome. It looks pretty pathetic for the chargers near the hospital and that NCP is ridiculous. That is me looking at ZapMap & PlugShare. If you just need to get in 20 kWh of a charge & on a 100 kWh+ charger to get back home then it should not be that much of a PITA. Look at the cost of the Rapid chargers (50kW) or 100 kW chargers you would be using to get Rapid or faster charging. If the rest of the charging at other times then maybe £1 a kWh will not matter, but £55 for 55kWh and getting even 4 miles per kWh that is 220 miles. If you are paying 60 pence a kWh that would be 10 kWh for £6.00 & if you get 3.5 miles to a kWh then £6 for 35 miles. not great. £33 for 192.5 miles.

Karoq cam belt change - start saving now !
'Lifetime cam belt'. that could be a very long life, a decade or more. All that is needed now are 'Lifetime' tensioners. A decade or more will be perfect. Maybe even a 7 year warranty on them would satisfy many.

Rather disappointing mpg.
Well that being the case we can take it all with a pinch of salt. Like the ambient temperatures that cars were run at during the old or new tests; Euro 4 will be right if it was to those emissions and then run out models as euro 5 came in, happened with others, Octavia Superbs etc. At least it does not need much oil for changes and no need for long life or anything costing much.
-
Rather disappointing mpg.
@Jocko There was no WLTP Regime for Euro 5 cars like Mk2 Fabia from 2009-2014. you are a few years too early. As for the old tests on a rolling road inside a building, that was NEDC and fiction as well. http://autocar.co.uk/car-news/features/autocar-guide-wltp-emissions-testing

Chipless key
That is why you put the key in your sock in your shoe in the car for when you go back in the car. But anyone breaking into cars at surf / kayaking / mountain biking type spots know to check there first. So the obvious is obvious and the not obvious is known as a hiding place, so you are on a hiding to nothing. None of this stuff is new, it is as it has been for years. The barsrtwards even stole the belt that was on my jeans which were on my artificial leg years back, and the fiver out the ashtray. I would be as well just leaving the car open for them to save them doing the lock in as the did. ............... With the Cortina or Granada or even the Transit no force would be needed.

Turning back the odmeter on cars, in particular ex Police cars and other stuff.
All the years of tuning back odometers on cars leased and used as taxis / private hire etc and cars just clocked. Then there was and is the likes of the Imports that came to the Chanel Isles and to the British Main land and were clocked up for tax reasons. New cars supposedly Hire / Demonstrators yet still in grease and plastic interiors. These days clocked up Demonstrators so that they can be sold and the dealers getting the HMRC tax breaks.

Rather disappointing mpg.
@jacko EDIT. Sorry i see, 9.3 gallons. so your 29.5 mpg. Seems pretty good if town driving, stop start and maybe not using stop / start. ? Have you get Stop/start? Easy enough to get displayed good average figures on the screen that are not anything to do with the cars use. If you start the car, reset the dash and drive no place it will eventually show 11 mpg, yet you drove no place, so not 11 mpg , 0 miles per gallon.

Chipless key
Welcome. The Fabia will probably be just like this Yeti. So just get a key cut. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/513118-non-electronic-key-for-2nd-generation-yeti I think you can just have the key for the door and no chip. Turn off the internal alarm as you do when leaving animals inside, but as it is i am not sure but maybe you are not setting the alarm just locking with the key without a chip. If you are no problem. You are opening again using it. Can you not use a waterproof key holder like a waterproof one on an arm band for phones maybe.

Karoq cam belt change - start saving now !
2 years parts and labour warranty with the Main Dealers. Maybe best have an Extended Warranty anyway with a 1.5 TSI ACT, also with DQ200 DSGs, and as things are going, with DQ381,s as well.

Replacing wheels
@T****ySurely not more money for them to load your policy or to charge for a declared change. Making a car less desirable to thieves is not increasing the risk of theft. Fitting Winter or All weather / all season Tyres / Wheels in the UK is now accepted as for the safety of the driver, occupants and others. It is just that nobody defined when that applies in the UK as dates, seasons, and many have their optional set on all year. Correct load / speed rating and sizes for the vehicle.

Engine vibration after cambelt change 1.0 TSI 110 3 cylinder DSG 2018 Fabia MK3
@MB21 If the place you use does not open the Airbox at each service and at least have a look see how the filter looks they would be someplace i would avoid to do anything on a vehicle. Basic stuff, even with vehicles with awkward to look into Air Filter boxes.

Karoq cam belt change - start saving now !
@karoqandrollWelcome to the forum. Is it a 1.5 TSI ACT that you have? The 5 years that Skoda Main Dealetship staff or Customer Services or the Guidelines, recommendations or schedule on Uk websites is what they show for any engines with cam belts and what they have done for years now. As to Karoq with 1.0TSI engines. This thread from the Mk3 Fabia section might interest some. Be sure that those doing the Cam Belt have the Gear. (locking) and more than ideas. Actual know how to do the job correctly. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511272-engine-vivrations-after-cambelt-change-10-tsi-110-3-cylinder-dsg-2018-fabia-mk3

Engine vibration after cambelt change 1.0 TSI 110 3 cylinder DSG 2018 Fabia MK3
@MB21Welcome. You do not say how many miles your car has done, so was the Cam belt replaced because @ 5 years old. Were the Spark Plugs replaced at this time or have they been replaced before this service. Has the car got a new air filter fitted or even checked? So serviced as needed and not just to some Guidelines, Recommendation or Skoda Schedule / specification.

DSG 6 speed or seven speed
6 speed it will be a DQ250 & 7 speed a DQ381, unless someone can tell us there are others like a DQ500 used.

About to buy a Skoda Octavia - Question about servicing
The correct oil is 5w 30 FS III so to VW 504 00 / 507 00 & not 0w 20 FS IV which is VW508 00 / 509 00 & for later engines and not backward compatible.

DSG 6 speed or seven speed
It is not the dreaded DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG as not fitted to 2.0 TDI's or TSI's. So you are talking 6 speed DQ250 DSG or 7 speed DQ381 age dependent. Wet Clutch DSG;s. Someone will know which have DQ500,s.
