  1. PS Just needed a google. I see the posts in the Yeti owners club forum from @Urrell, @KennyR and other Prestone users. Cant link. just google audi-sport.net windscreen-wash-liquid-smelling-bad
  2. Maybe there is no issue with mixing with VW screen wash. Maybe it is an internet myth i am starting. Maybe the H20 used was the issue. So i can not sadly provide a link maybe other than mine from Briskoda were i posted, as when i noticed the issue when using the Prestone i cleaned out the stuff to be sure of no issues. I posted at the time when i bought the cheap stuff about 5 years ago in bulk because Tesco was clearing it. -23 Prestone, http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/442175-windscreen-wash-frustration
  3. @RichRposted earlier in the Enyaq in reply to something i posted and it interested me. The thing with cars is that sometimes they need parked and no place near electricity or chargers and you want them to function well in low temps. Heated rear screens that will not stay on while you try to demist or deice windows / windscreen or a heated steering wheel that can not stay on because of the 12 volt battery having sat a few hours or a 20% full EV battery is basically crap pure and simply. No if buts or excuses. Totally not fit for purpose really.
  4. Welcome to the forum. @J.R.might be able to help with advice. He has a Yeti but there was similar posts asking about diffs in the Yeti section where members had failures. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/498884-yeti-rear-differential-siezed
  5. @Druid58 Welcome to the forum. I would snap the dealers arm off had and take the £126 from them in a blink of an eye. But if they want that to sort something that Skoda CZ / UK should be paying to fix and would be naming shaming even if the manufacturers warranty has expired.
  6. With the Prestone or other windscreen washes best empty what is in before using and fill with fresh H20 and flush through before adding the new stuff. Prestone sometimes reacts not well with other makes. Sometimes even a mould forms.
  7. @geoffrye They used 5w 40 Full Synthetic and that is VW502 00, so not Long Life. Perfectly OK for fixed service intervals. Your 2019 1.0TSI left the factory with VW508 / 509 00 (Long life oil.) New spark plugs might well have an engine running better. 0w 20 FS IV, so Long Life oil might reduce fuel consumption. 5 years on & on further and we will see how the engines life is going.

What is fair about crap range in cold weather with 50 kWh batteries and 45 kWh usable. Fair is to warn customers, the system fitted is rubbish and it might be standard but in all honesty charging extra would have seen us taken to court in some world regions. Pathetic performance from the batteries in cars / vans already on the roads and ridiculous WLTP figures given will need to change.
  9. It takes me a few minutes as well to get an EV de-iced , & if not plugged in then it can decide like this morning that i do not need the heated rear screen on so no heated mirrors, or maybe no heated steering wheel. The heated seat will stay on but if i switch it off still the heated screen will switch on but then switch right off. Thank goodness PSA did have as standard a Heat Pump, not that it is obvious that it does anything, certainly not a help with range.
  10. It is working out very well for UK Civil Servants and Government Employees and Government Ministers. They can just look at proposals from EU Commissioners in the past which they never introduced and give them a few tweaks and make it look like they are working and they can spend the time having Cheese & Wine and Pizzas delivered. Even get paid for overtime out of it. They can even travel around the world doing fact finding visits along with elected members. Scary to think what Stallantis vehicles would be like without a heat pump. I say that as I sit charging. Thankfully 3 degree C and rising so 7 degrees higher than yesterday. The WLTP scores on the doors are just a joke.
  12. Bump for @stever750
  13. The threads on that are on here from years back The EU wanted that for years. They wanted tighter UK MOT,s. The DVSA had MOT stations in a pilot scheme web cammed up and being strict on Motor bike MOTs and mods. They failed bikes that might have 2 front discs and the spec showed they should have only one. Exhausts also caused failures. Soon they can introduce the car being weighed. The tyre noise tested. Hi there are APR cameras and there are weight sensors on roads and there are noise monitors roadside. The tech is all there. Pity GPS or radio reception is crap in lots of the UK and the government can not get IT right or even MOT stations. The OBD can be used as in US states, giving the factory scores on the doors and the changes from factory spec. All fair enough. The VED and insurance can be as a vehicle is not as it was. Time now that the Bloggers / vloggers and motoring journalists have EV,s on Rolling Roads. Sons have power figures that are fiction. That is understated. Tested in ECO or what ever. They will be stricter on them come time. It is easy to turn up the wick on EV,s.
  14. Millions of cars on It UK roads have very little engine braking and even if it in gear Muppets might just apply the brakes in an emergency and are not dropping gears to stop. If coasting and within the speed limit they will stop. If they have no drive to the wheels then that could well be a good thing as if they hit the accelerator rather than the brake that could be a saviour. Watching someone drive round a hazard with ABS opporating is better on YouTube than real world.
  15. If they are doing it for pay and reward maybe. If doing their vehicles and mates cars then maybe not so. It is good to have access to a rolling road to check what you do and what other do for you.
  16. Sitting on a rolling road with the bonnet open or closed and cold air blowing from a fan at the car front and running Super Unleaded in the UK with the workshop less than 2,000 ft above sea level is going to get about the best ps / Nm scores on the doors you are likely to get. Certainly different from you might be getting with an ambient temp in the 20,s and running 95 Ron unleaded as the official figures give. What they show as MAX are the MIN you should get in the less ideal conditions. It has much to do with the operator and their knowledge. There can be very different results with a DSG on how a operator does the runs and the gears chosen.
  17. Maybe there are members that have had their car on the rolling road that want to show what their standard car did. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/327528-mk2-fabia-vrs-rolling-road-post-yout-graphs Some standard CTHE's here including @sharkrider& @Furbytom http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/355413-sanra-pod-raceway-times-mods-etc http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/209657-14tsi-14-mile-leaderboard http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/466062-vrs-14-tsi-updated-dragy-times
  18. @FurbytomHad the Dyno done on a Factory standard 2014 CTHE.
  19. Strange to occur when the tyres have been inflated. Strange or poor practice that a tyre fitter would remove a tyre and not also pull the valve, chuck it and put in a new one before refitting the tyre. Strange things happen though. @D402 was the tyre check done without you having to pass silver over the palm of the tyre fitter?
  20. @BingodaltonAs hard to believe it is totally possible. But if it is not possible for you with your car then that is that. Not simply clever trucking about in a car with Haldex and an odd sized wheel / tyre. Not all cars have Haldex.
  21. All kinds have been done. Some people put the cone in after removing the battery. Or turning it, or fitting smaller ones. So forward, with better intakes, or on the Polo GTI Twincharger the batter was in the boot. As it is in Summer the area where the Air Filter sits behind the battery gets very hot and sits and there is heat sink. As it is there are ways of getting cooler air in and ways of more noise, and ways of better performance.
  22. The Service Campaign 34H5 was preventative to stop issues with pressure and leaks and the need for replacing the MCU or the DSG & MCU. That was the Software Update, started in 2017. So that is in the past now. You need a Qualified Technician to diagnose the fault now and hopefully repair economically. Maybe that will best be at an Automatic Specialist rather than at a Skoda Main Dealership, BUT, if you have a valid warranty then get it to a Skoda Approved Repairer to get the diagnosis. Do not let anyone else touch it. PS Humidity has nothing to do with it. It was heat and pressure that caused failures. That is just the crap VW came away with in 2012 when they had to do a World Wide recall excluding Europe and 2 years later then they started a Service Campaign in Europe, but that was 34F7 and the oil type change.
  23. Right. because i drive cars, used to fit tyres. Also not always trying to get people to buy after market systems. What does happen is that some models will after awhile show a 'warning'. But then emergency spares are not for running 'long time mister'. CC / ACC etc should be disabled when an odd one out is on an axle because some people have not the common sense they were born with.
  24. Dft / DVSA & the DVLA will have to do with this stuff getting press coverage. or is it just https://leaseloco.com FREE ADVERTISING. MP's & Transport Ministers will be none the wiser than many reading the stuff. Those that update the Highway Code surely know about modern cars and features and standard fixtures / functions. eg of one of many publications running the story. https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/19834010.drivers-face-1-000-fine-common-mistake-cars/ They say coasting could mean you are in big trouble if not in full control of a vehicle. Well we know that not being in control is an issue, Also that 'Coasting' is part of many vehicles systems that managed to get car manufacturers the WLTP results that has cars on the road. The journalists seem to be unaware that many cars now 'Coast' out of gear many many times in a journey. Even that many drivers do not even know the car has 'Coasting' as part of the deal. DSG's disengage the clutches. No driver input as only 2 pedals and neither are clutch pedal. Over a decade on the roads now, and now on EV's. Now the driver hands control over to cars, and more standard safety features come in in 2022. Maybe drivers should take back control. Disable all features like Lane Keep Assist.
  25. The systems were introduced for muppets that did not notice punctures on 'run flat tyres'. Pretty hopeless with slow punctures bit perfect for a loss of pressure / circumference is a deaf / blind person does not notice. People understanding what things do and setting and resetting is a bit of a neccessity. Pity that tyre fitters and Mechanics / technicians / fitters might not even know what is fitted to what or how to reset.
