REVERSING ILLUMINATION
The reversing lights are to let others know you are reversing. If the car was supposed to have a 2nd set of Dipped beam headlights that can be activated to the rear they could be fitted by all manufacturers . If there is nobody else there to see the reversing then putting the rear fog light on can help.

FIX OR REJECT?
@DoctorQ Welcome. Sorry to hear this. You do not say what engine or how many miles the car has done. If a Skoda Approved Used car with a Skoda Warranty then good. If FMDSH / Full Main Dealer Service History then good. FMDSH is a history of what has been done, but more importantly what has not been done. Skoda Approved Cars with FMDSH may not be serviced to the Manufacturers Guidelines or Recommendations. (Odd that because if people do not service to the Recommendations / Guidelines Skoda / VW are quick in voiding a warranty, yet they give a warranty on cars that maybe did not get the Haldex Serviced, the Brake Fluid changed, the DSG serviced when due.) Pre sale rigorous checks are safety related in a workshop. ***Maybe no servicing was done if not due.*** ? Was it serviced before you collected. Get the Service & Warranty & Recall History of the vehicle and maybe decide if you want it fixed and want to keep it. HOW GOOD IS THE SERVICE HISTORY? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/487625-skoda-used-vehicle-check-anomolies Best watch the video. https://www.skoda.co.uk/used-cars/deals

Superb MK3 2.0TDI Power loss 1500-2000rpm
You will find threads / posts on Quantum Remaps on Briskoda and elsewhere on the net. Only go to have a remap from Quantum or APR or REVO or anyone with a car running as best as it should. Do not remap engines with faults or issues. If the OEM map is wrong get that sorted have a car running right with no warranty or a warranty before ending up with something that cost you thousands and might cost you thousands more and be un-usable. So if the Remap Franchise people are proper Motor Engineers / Mechanics and they can not fix your car to run properly before remapping they really should not be trusted to do a remap.

Correct oil for my Superb?
Forum sponsor. https://opieoils.co.uk Or just a Local trusted Motor Factor that is not TPS. @ TPS Fuchs do the Quantum now. Or Asda, Tesco or where ever the oil is available at good prices. Comma oil is just dandy.

Warning lights
AC Branches are not all equal. (Equally as bad.) Not all will tell you at handover there is only 1 key but they will get you one and then the Salesperson is always on a day off. unless you walk in and catch them. Not all give the 2 year Service & MOT offer for Free as a sweetner then fails the car at the MOT on the things it failed on the year before before you collected the car. Not all will have disposed of the discs and broken spring before you get there to see them. Not all will give advisories on wiper blades, brake fluid change etc that were all on MOT's before they passed it in the MOT at their Test Station / Workshop the year before. @AnnoyingPentium AC Peugeot Ayr is night and day different from AC Vauxhall Ayr. The traffic fumes off the A77 must do something that is not good on some employees. The risk is that good trustworthy and honest workers are off to pastures new and what is left are those trained & managed by total muppets.

Correct oil for my Superb?
The viscosity is the difference. So 0w 20 FS IV rather than 5w 30 FS III or even 0w 30 FS III. In the past for the old tests VW Group / VW, SEAT, Audi might have added diesel to the engine oil for testing. (They can argue that in court if they want to sue me. They could show that they never ever in their cheating lives cheated tests.) but they were not getting away with that for the WLTP / RDE. So get new oil spec....

Delivery lead-time
^^^^ exactly. Handy for those that even think they might never use them. They can help others who might need to charge and are having issues with DC charging. It might even be themselve. No point left at home though. Like having a towbar you might never think will be used until you do need to. Or a spare wheel.

Bus lane signs
Who was the person replying, as in their actual job in the council? Planning, roads department, law department? Who in the Police actually replied? How would police officers deal with this, stop vehicles and then charge with what offence and how would the NIP be issued. One way streets, no entry to motorised traffic etc are clearly signposted as are 'Loading Only', 'no parking' or any restrictions, display the times that apply. They would need guidelines. Plenty Bus lane use offences were overturned in Aberdeen. The legal requirement of advertised notices of times then signposting had not happened. The word of written answers of some random Council Official or Police Officer is not enough for By-law or Traffic Law enforcement. Go to council planning meeting minutes and published documentation. Ask council officials to provide the correct information. Use the public library or the likes of the internet. England does have different laws, (& police) and then Boris said they would change for 1st time mistakes, but maybe Failing Grayling never got those changes done. https://www.mygov.scot/bus-lane-penalties

Delivery lead-time
3 pin socket chargers are invaluable if away places, visiting / holidaying and no handy chargers near. That need not only be in rural areas. 10 hours parked up and the battery can be getting some charge. 25 kWh maybe at 20 pence a kW so £5. Car interior pre heated / windows de-iced before setting off and the energy is from the national grid.

Delivery times?
Damage is more likely as they go on and off road transporters. Then carelessness as the vehicle is off the transporter, signed off at dealers as checked and no damaged then happens at pounds / dealerships. This is where there can become 'no official recording of damage' as it is dealt with on the QT.

@chopper85 Has the car been First Registered yet? I wonder if you are caught up in the VW Group numbers game. Average Co2 emissions, and they have achieved what they required for 2021 and will not be fined so now they want 2022 to start with the lowest emission and no emission vehicles being first registered. Last year they missed the required figures. https://www.am-online.com/news/manufacturer/2021/01/22/vw-group-faces-100m-fine-after-narrowly-missing-co2-emissions-targets

BMW 330E are plug in hybrids not BEV's. The Mazda obviously is legal, Type Approval, certificated, and imported and on the roads. Little different from a 3 door or 2 door car really with 4 seats. The power can be turned up if wanted!

Window tints
The scores on the doors are all good and well but the Council rules are so that you can see who is in the back. Look at the car and see if you can see in. I think you can not.

Yes but motoring journalists know where their daily bread comes from. People live in the real world of UK Speed Limits and keeping their driving licences and funnily those with the fastest sportiest cars seem to be those that can not even drive at the max limit. Those that buy family / taxi / commercial driver type cars with sporty looks and more show than go want to remap them or add tuning boxes because they are just renting the cars.

The future of cars in the media (TV, Print and Forums)
I think there is easy more than 30 years worth of petrol & diesel engine cars already in the UK if people want to keep running them and there is at least 9 years more of ones going onto the UK roads. There might be quite a few of those being hybrids that get first registered in the next decade or more. Plenty cars in the UK still that are already over 30 years old.

@skomaz They are away to have a MX5 vs a Mazda EV on Fifth Gear Recharged on Quest now. @KenONeill No gears or shifter, but then there are those EV conversions that do have gearboxes and then those without that will still be called gearboxes by some as they work on them.

I would give my right leg for a 911 EV conversion. 4 years old vid.

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
You can get the Yellow Low Oil light or Low Oil Level message, open the bonnet, do nothing, close the bonnet and the Light / Message will go out for 100 km and the Oil Level is still low. Not 'Simply Clever' IMO.

^^^ Which is fantastic for Car Modders as the motors, controllers and batteries, suspension etc are needed. All the classics that would go off the roads, slow with horrible brakes etc that can have the body and chassis & style kept. The thing is that the DVSA / DfT are going to clamp down at some point as are insurers. At present you can fill your boots.(and anyplace else with power.) The UK System for customising & modding was always lax and the EU did not like that. No worries now with the EU but it will be the Treasury & Safety Campaigners that will be the spoilers in the near future. Drifting or spinning and putting in a ditch any EV be it FWD, RWD or AWD is dead easy, especially on the crap ECO / Summer Range making tyres they come on.

@AnnoyingPentium I had one. a 1.3 & used it for Autotests. Volvo 343, Daf 66, Subaru Justy AWD Auto (Electro magnetic) fantastic , Punto Speegear, Toyota Camry CVT, Toyota IQ which was the most recent. If they corner with pedal to the floor on narrow hill roads without lifting then that is all the speed you need IMO. Driven a few others like Subarus that i never owned.

Subscription means you can rent a car for just a month at a time. £49 delivery and how ever much a week, £100-£200, maybe £300 a week which includes everything. Insurance, Electric. No Credit Checks. Unless the Government controls this then things are going to be mental. Boris's favourite lenders / sponsors of his position of being Tory Leader are behind Subscription in the UK. The Boy / Girl racer, Mom / Dad, Gran / Grandad thing is not going to die unless GPS / Roadside boxes / Black Boxes puts speeding off UK Roads. Then there is the No MOT / VED Classic Car thing that so many in the House of Lords / Parliament / Banking & Investments support. PS Some of the most fun cars i have had have had CVT. Try some. Very suited to using on great driving roads in Scotland.

The future of cars in the media (TV, Print and Forums)
In 5 years time there are going to be lots of fast and expensive cars that are on the road going cheap with out of date tech. Never raced or rallied but they have had the accelerator pinned to the floor often to show others just how quick they can go. Many will never get to be 5 years old as there are many driving the big fat heavy lumps quite quickly and seem to not be able to stay in their own lane.
