  1. So is Kate Laws now on the case? Like Rod McLeod & the new Head of Car Sales Kevin Rendell they have the requirements VW UK expect of them. They get where they are after decades working with VW Group in After Sales Care, Customer Support Services Development, Warranties etc. They can talk the talk about how well Skoda are doing and who they are expending the range.
  2. No need for a 'Black hole' system in 2021 with Social Media & the Internet and even 'home workers' being part of the system and not 'building cars'. Simple press releases are good, Personal messages are even better, and Sales Executives that are not being cheeky or rubbering you because they are busy filling in 'Customer Satisfaction surveys'. 'Simply Clever'.
  3. Some John Clark Group sales executives / dealer principals can be pretty useless or think customers are just pests that expect the earth when they are just spending thousands of quid. They have better things to do with their time like trying to get new customers rather than keep repeat ones sweet. So very simple.
  4. They could have had a Large Storage Battery delivered, with a solar panel helps & this is for charging rather than a generator. Maybe just for bigger sites. Or tanks of 'green'hydrogen (produced from Solar generation) and a charger as will become more common where generators are used at Fairs, Country Shows, Festivals etc. Smaller than these.
  5. Overheating has not been a common issue reported on this forum since 2010 with 1,4TSI Twinchargers. Never seen a single case actually. Unless it was about radiator leaks, or Coolant Bottles. Common is slight loss of coolant yes, the Turbo being imobilised, the Waterpumps needing replaced yes, that includes the magnetic clutch for the superchargers. Reports of pattern water pumps and issues has been common, Audi, Seat, VW, SEAT 1.4 TSI / TFSI Twinchargers. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/452647-fabia-vrs-mk2-waterpumpsupercharger-clutch-part-number http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/378939-water-pump-failure-vrs http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/429228-fabia-mkii-vrs-water-pump-failed
  6. @Helipilot If Skoda UK put you & everyone else with orders on an Update Alert that would be Simply Clever. A member posted yesterday he was receiving these, but i think they failed to answer when a member asked how they started getting these.
  7. @daveh44 If there are any recalls the VIN checker should show them outstanding here. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions The 2 Safety Recalls for some 2019 models are on the DVLA Recall site and registered keepers should have been contacted, that is the Seat Frame Cracking and the lack of Torque.
  8. It will be interesting if someone can tell what DQ200 parts have been upgraded, is it actuators, mechatronic control units. have they got improved clutch packs or is it just Software that finally they have which controls the boxes better. People will know how 2018 DQ200's are after 3 or more years next year maybe, and by then Skoda / VW might deal with those still getting issues. If Skoda produce over 2,200 DQ200 a day under normal conditions and only 0.5% have issues then that is still a lts of DQ200's with issues. Over a decade on from first producing them you would hope VW Group / Skoda have got the hang of them.
  9. @nidza Can you say when that happened & is that anytime since 2018 & WLTP / RDE coming in, and what they did to improve reliability / quality control / software issues, other than start using DQ200's on Mild Hybrids? Those with ones under a year old must just be the few unlucky ones that Skoda / VW will have you believe just do not know how to drive. There have been since 2009 millions with no issues, but still plenty that have from 2017, or the last Australian recall in 2019. Things get overblown on the Internet according to many / manufacturers, and people only come to complain seemingly, or so VW Group like people to believe. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496398-dsg-shudder-low-rpm http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496318-automatic-gearbox-issues http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486782-15-dsg-issues
  10. Public Car Parks, Private car Parking / Car parks are not Drives which is the most obvious thing. The UK Government 'average distance from a public charger' is really one of the most ridiculous figures they publish. 2019 http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47696839 https://www.zap-map.com/statistics
  11. Welcome. If it is the 2010 that you show to the left it is a Mk2. Many similar threads if you check. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/266114-18tsi-and-20tsi-engine-failures/page/74
  12. No way can this figure be accurate. '71% of cars in England are parked on a driveway or garaged overnight'. ? Where did that come from, was it what people tell their insurance company when looking for insurance? Is it from the DVLA / DfT, or RAC / AA? They do not even know how many are uninsured have no VED or registered to people that are not the keeper now.
  13. http://autohausedinburgh.co.uk Edinburgh Area. https://www.victoriagarage-maud.co.uk North East Scotland, Victoria Garage Maud, Aberdeenshire. Authorised Repairer, TPI's, Warranty work. All the gear, more than just ideas, the Service all should get a Skoda Main Dealers.
  14. So many uses. Like Covid so not entering the car. Risk to life like the Salisbury poisoning where vehicles were being lifted by slings onto military vehicles. Maybe needed to disable alarm, or just the key needed to open doors and disable the alarm. Steering stays locked, Recoveries of vehicles suspected of involved in crime so no evidence lost. (There was a new Car Pound / Recovery programme on the telly last night.) Recovering cars like the Nissan Leaf left parked for over a year at my local Council Offices with windows closed, battery flat and a risk to health from the mould inside. Car Pound Cops: Give me my car back. https://www.channel5.com/show/car-pound-cops-give-me-my-car-back
  15. Read the T&C's carefully. Tell Sales and Service Desk staff to as well. https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/warranty Skoda have not said 'Service Schedule.' Reason being many Service Plans / Skoda Approved Used cars etc are not as per Service Schedule. Skoda / VW never make Recommendations clear and certainly not 'Schedules', Dealership staff can make them up as they go along. They might not have the DSG done or the Haldex or Brake Fluid done. So 'Manufacturers Recommendations. Nothing wrong with servicing early. They are Recommendations.
  16. I want one of these. The Cat track & flatbed not the i3.
  17. Guest_ replied to Heike's topic in Skoda Enyaq
PS. I have Michelin CrossClimate SUV.s on my SWB Shogun Van. 265/60 R 18" instead or the the standard wider 285/55 R 18's I made a big mistake actually fitting these, but they are on so will stay, they are OK in the wet but really not good enough on snow. If i was fitting 235 / 255 tyres (rears) to an EV it would not be CrossClimate + / SUV's that i would go with if going to be driving in snowy conditions or roads not getting well ploughed / gritted.
  18. Guest_ replied to Heike's topic in Skoda Enyaq
Really treat buying replacement tyres for EV's differently, the cars are heavy and the suspension can be hard and the cars are quieter. When driving cars like Niro's that come with 3 types of drivetrain or PSA ones then you know just how the suspension of the EV is different, and how the likes of the ECO tyres fitted really are not great on the EV, good for range by having pathetic grip / traction. Great range from ECO / OEM tyres is not much use if you still need to charge more often because it is cold / winter & you can not get your cars in and out charger places in winter because the public chargers are not cleared of snow or under canopies. Michelin Alpin 6, so not something you might want to run all year but i will for the next 2 years, they are not wearing 10,000 miles since fitted.
  19. I know they are not L&K, but is it changes now for MY22 in Ireland you want to know about? Or what is with MY21 cars? If Skoda Ireland can not tell you the spec of what they will import and offer for sale then it is a bit difficult to find out.
  20. Thankfully Bob is a fan.
  21. So Bristol Street Motors have the VED on the car & a Registration Number? ? When do you get the car?
  22. @gumdrop If i am on Glenshee, Cairn O Mount or any long steep road and start going down hill with the car on for a mile or 3 without touching the accelerator but using the regen, or more regen or touching the brakes i regen all the way. That is charging the battery. If i reach the bottom and am on the flat and then get towed for a few miles and not using the accelerator the car will have the wheels charging the battery and attached to the motor. Not going to tow mine, but i fail to see what difference there is from gravity taking the car down or it being towed or pushed.
  23. Obviously. But it will not stop people from doing it. Hence the Vid link and the others on youtube. More money than sense or leased / borrowed cars. Automatics should not be towed because Transmission Fluid can overheat, as manufacturers warn.
  24. @john999boyExactly. Autohold is not working when taken out of D or S and into N. That is why not necessary, if you do put it in N you need to apply the Parking / e-Brake or have your foot on the brake pedal. I should have added that.
  25. Not on their wheels, so pretty much like Automatics or 4x4 / AWD's where you might need wheels on a dolly or the car goes on a trailer. AA/RAC can come boost the car to get you to a charger. 3 pin plug maybe! There are people that have towed them. What is the worst that can happen?
