  1. @Carlston Did you not check what Skoda gave as the size of wheels / tyres suitable for fitting Snow Chains to?
  2. We might hear if people are being stopped by officers of the law if they put these on their EV's or failing a MOT. First Grant Shapps will have to come out and tell us the regs / law on them or Gov.UK / DfT. It will need to be someplace in writing because drivers of UK cars taken to the EU might end up breaking EU laws with dodgy stickers & not the correct spec of plate that the UK has introduced.
  3. Just seen the 2nd down plates, lots of them and nothing on the green like a Country Identifier. They clearly are GB plates. Rule Britannia.
  4. The Factory figures are with 95 Ron. But then what shows as Max PS & Max Nm is actually what they will be as a minimum in Europe. You are buying them on the performance figures shown and no way should you be short changed in the UK where you will not be driving at more than 3,000 ft above sea level or in ambient temps more than 40*oC. There is no 98 ron on sale in the UK since BP went to 97 minimum and Shell, Tesco & Esso went to 99 ron minimum. VW never changed the Website for the UK, and when they say R & GTI which included the Polo GTI 1.4 TSI Twincharger with 98 (95) on the fuel filler Skoda had the same sticker on the Mk2 Fabia vRS. https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/need-help/need-help-faqs/fuel.html North America, South Africa, Australia etc which can have detuned GTI's / R's and different fuel grades (Ron & Mon) are obviously not in the EU / Europe.
  5. They will still want to get Enyaqs out ASAP and first registered to assist in meeting the Average C02 required.
  6. I had a long ride planned today to the Angus Coast mostly downhill and home but I should have started at first thing as it is getting just too warm. So change of plan and a long easy ride into the Angus Glens and then a nice fast run home. The heat should help lots in the range available with 2 batteries just as long as I can put enough effort in, if not then easier getting back than riding home from the coast. Cash money in pocket and hopefully a nice lager or 2 will be available and ice creams. Edit. Plans changed, it was too hot and crazy drivers once off the main road /pavement so i went gravel riding using farm tracks. 1 battery 24 miles and a few miles left. Managed to crash and land in a puddle while riding on the grassy middle, served me right. Not the first time. That is an elbow.
  7. The Steering Assistance settings used to be clearer which were suited for 'Disabilities' or Infirmities the same as for brake assist. Those buying 'Used /Pre owned' and Ex Motability cars should not assume the car is on Factory Settings as many are not put back to Factory Setting before being put to Auction or into the Trade. They may be set as the were when the PDI was done, or hand controls fitted etc. I used to change the setting with different tyre widths or winter tyres and winter driving a setting to less assist. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/294303-vcds-steering-assist-polo-gti-setting http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/366759-power-steering-assistance-value-weight
  8. You are just stabbing in the dark when thinking the choice of a Virtual Cockpit is the issue causing some to be unfinished.
  9. @bubib5 It is not a feature the VW Engineers designed into your car. (It is one some people might have liked they had done.) Not a feature on any i have driven. I have driven a few and had a 2016 2.0 TDI SCR DSG for 40,000 miles / 3 years. It had it's scheduled oil change before 3 years. ? Have you had your car from new and it has been doing the same from new?

I would say it is really quite important. You could get a pump and remove oil via the dipstick tube. You might well damage your car. If you can not do it then go to a local garage that could pump it out or remove the drain plug and drop the oil, and refill. *Maybe a local Mobile Mechanic could do it for you.* What engine is it?, not that that matters. Are you checking the oil when at operating temp on the flat and then adding if needed by the dip stick?
  11. @bubib5sorry no idea but it is a fault you want to get diagnosed and repaired. What do you have is it a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG so a DQ200, or do you have a 6 speed wet clutch DSG?
  12. A lovely warm evening for a tea time ride with a dramatic sky @ harvest time & farm tracks are drying out but still big puddles about.
  13. @StephenCarter the shifter into S means the gear is held to a higher RPM before changing and it is common with a DQ200 to select S when crawling along in traffic so that the DSG is not going up and down from 1st to 2nd, or if crawling faster 2nd to 3rd. Good that you have found what works for you.
  14. ^^^ That tells you about not warming the engine when stationary. Just do not thrash it until the oil heats up a bit. The colder around freezing or lower the longer that will be, So no wait when starting or when stopping. The Engine /Turbo take care of themselves.
  15. Sorry i can not help with the fault. I hope someone can. Best be clear what you have, What you are calling Dim DRL's are when the are Sidelight / Position lights at the front. The same Unit is DRL when bright and go dim when they are te Sidelights. When they are on as DRL's, (Bright) will be or should be when the Sidelights or Sidelights and Headlighrs are not on.
  16. If someone is Distant Buying as in Click & Collect and not into a Showroom but doing the deal on the phone, online, through a car broker etc then the rules are totally different in the UK on cooling off periods and cancellations, this includes new cars, even factory builds, but if you are ordering a unique personalised vehicle that can be an issue. Dealerships in England / Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland might well have what looks like a Legally Binding Contract with T&C's that are not worth the Paper they are written on if they were to go to a Civil Court. They might actually work more in favour of the buyer than the seller.
  17. An Article about the cost of public charging featuring an EV driver that uses my local charging hub provided by Angus Council. While the photographer was there 2 of the 4 Rapid Chargers were not working including the one the e-208 driver is pictured at. A regular thing that is a real PITA as the hub can be busy with local drivers & those passing through Angus while travelling on the A90 where public charging facilities are pathetic for the main route from Dundee to Aberdeen and points further North, East, West & South. There might be Super Quick commercial chargers being installed pretty close in the near future. http://eveningtelegraph.co.uk/fp/two-tier-electric-vehicle-charging-would-be-unthinkable-for-petrol-drivers-says-retired-angus-lawyer
  18. Skoda UK. https://www.skoda.co.uk/new-cars/teaser/all-new-fabia-2021
  19. Is there, did they get them out with SCR and then discontinue them?
  20. @lexluther They are all Brothers from another mother, same platforms what makes them difference is different panels and parts. ? Do VW T-Cross panels, like wings, doors, hatch fit on a Kushaq?

@BoxerBoy When paying 20 or 50 pence or £1 to a Multi National Company at their filling station they had better be accurate. They are providing a service with the Air Compressors and people are trusting they are accurate. They are checked and calibrated by the Forecourt Maintenance people. ? Have you compared the pressure at a Pay to use Air Compressor with maybe your £12 digital or analogue pressure gauge and found the tyres showed a difference?
  22. ^^^ Normal vehicles used for everyday use, like many they have. Are the Skoda really going KISS with the Mk4 Fabia? Hopefully they have had all the time to be sure they learned from past mistakes, door looms free from a short life because people open and close doors, seals of doors and hatches that keep H20 out, & a good heating / cooling / de-misting system across all trim levels.

  24. I doubt more profitable, but Enyaq's will very much bring down the average C02 of Skoda vehicles first registered and aid VW Group in paying penalties on their emissions. The vehicles will not meet Construction & Use and can not be imported to other EU countries or the UK. https://www.newsy-today.com/skoda-auto-shuts-down-up-to-5000-unfinished-cars-a-week-with-a-ceiling-of-55000-cars https://www.ft.com/content/22514024-554b-482b-bc4f-25557ab0571d
  25. Very much so. Disguised ones in the Arctic & in the Tropics and on Alpine trips staying in nice hotels, on private test and race tracks. Somehow they fail to actually put a family in them with all their gear and see if it all works in a practical way on trips or suits UK weather like in winter which can be different from Continental European countries. They also fail to do the right hand drive testing and the journalist test at Launches with Left Hand Drive cars and then can make them What Car /Autocar car of the year before any customer even gets near a right hand drive one.
