What tyres did you get?
It is good to know the OEM Aero wheels are solid alloy. Vauxhall / PSA ones have plastic inserts. Must be adding lightness.

Lane assist is dangerous
There are plenty single lane roads in Scotland without markings and where the asphalt is not edged and goes to drop offs, to gravel or ditches and Lane Keep assist is not steering cars off the road into the countryside or ditches. If set to give a warning light on the dash or a feeling through the steering wheel then that is all you get. If the car is picking up on the line the people tarring the road had to your right and putting the car off the road to the left then owners should be contacting the DfT, VOSA and the Motoring Media. Maybe their MP and Grant Shapps before the UK Government introduce the EU,s latest legislation to the UK. PS hundreds or even thousands on the forum ? Who has so far been hit up the rear because their vehicle did Automatic Braking. Plenty have commented on near things. Drivers behind need to be ready for the car in fronts bonnet flying open or maybe something dropping out of the sky onto the road. Dangers are everyplace when you drive a vehicle. Crisp packets should be outlawed.

Suzuki Jimny
- Px.value
New Jimny's were selling at a premium right from the first owners picking them up from the dealerships and auto's even more so, then there was such a short run. (The dealers were not allowed to sell them new for more than the RRP, but the first owners could and some did.) Even the last model sold for strong money at 10 or more years old. 6 & 7 year old ones can sell for what they cost new. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/465129-suzuki/jimny/page/2- Cabin pressure
If i had AC set at 22*oC i would need iced drinks and cold towels. I seldom put the cars heating to 18*oC in the coldest of weather.- Cabin pressure
No idea then, but good that the answer is just to drop the rear windows a bit if the fronts are open. Looking forward to hearing from others with the same car as you trying it in theirs or sharing any experiences already.- As the Dukes would say - Sell, sell, sell.
It is great when you can get cash money selling and not just a price when trading in a car. That is real world depreciation when you can compare the purchase price with what you get selling. Is it going to a private buyer, trader or an online buyer?- Lane assist is dangerous
@longedgeThe potential danger will now be on tens of thousands of VW Group cars in the UK and globally. The Insurers / underwriters must know how many accidents the system has caused and there will be countries where lawyers will be taking legal actions against the manufacturers or the Government Agencies will be taking action against them. I wonder how many here have had the potentially dangerous system cause them to crash / accident or have had them not being in an accident. Saved me yesterday just before getting on the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow where there were 5 lanes and i was entering from the left to go to the 2 on the right. I really missed the car coming up in the outside lane really quick in the outside lane in the 50 mph area. it was not the lane assist though it was departure warning as i had indicated in plenty time. I was watching all around as everyone coming on from the A77 / M77 were changing lanes and nobody was going as slow as 50 mph. Never once had a bad Lane Assist System in any car i have driven other than in an ID.3, it was dire but i never tried any setting as just borrowed in for a short while.- 2021 Octavia VRS iv Remap, and lowering springs
@Greezy56 The Octavia mk4 vRS iV is a plug in Hybrid, so it is a about mapping the 1.4 TSI in those i think. But if anyone knows or will be doing them then it might well be http://ecotune-scotland.co.uk Like other remappers they might want an owner to allow them to develope the map with their car. Not that many might want to void the manufacturers warranty though.- Fabia mk4 launch 6pm today (4th May) with launch details
Just looking like a sensible not small car. If it is too small or the boot has not enough room then you just get a bigger car!- Lane assist is dangerous
It is much easier to put off / inactivate in other manufacturers cars as in one press of a button. VW Group are making a song and dance about the legislation saying it can not be done with just one action. Maybe that is true when they actually are required by the EU to have it fitted. Mk4 Fabia takes 2 actions. Review by a Briskoda member.- What tyres did you get?

@Darko-Mk What happens, are things / passengers sucked out the car or stuff sucked in, and as @Macdemonasks, at what speed , and at what altitude please ?- Lane assist is dangerous
@KenONeill It really would be simply clever if you tried cars with some of the latest features before decrying them. Manufacturers for cars in the EU / Europe have to fit it as standard to new type approved cars from next year, it does not have to be left on though. Lots of other mandatory stuff coming in from next year that might want people to drive keepers that did not get these 'safety features'.- Octavia 2014 1,8 Dsg7 - Should I be worried?
The OP does not have a vRS.- The 'new' green numberplates.
@john999boySo am i and i have seen lots and lots of brand new EV's today, lots of new EV vans about. Maybe not that many EV drivers will be going overseas at the moment.- The 'new' green numberplates.
I would have liked to be able to ask what the car had been adapted with. Good touch for originality keeping the exhaust. (New V5 issued this month.)- Electric vehicles and charging
Charging for the 2nd time today after 200 miles, IST time was for 1 hour and took battery to 99%, now will be to 90% and will be an hour and then I might need 40 mins charge in 100 miles to get home with some range free. Cost is zero £ as south of Perth and luckily chargers were available and charge time quick because of scorchio weather. Saved on 8 or 9 gallons of petrol or 15 if I took my Shogun.- noise changing gears with windows open
@carolanster Welcome. Is it a manual or a DSG (auto) ?- Lane assist is dangerous
I signal when there is no one to see it because i still do look around, mirror, look behind and around and move. If there is no one to see then there is no one to be annoyed. Those that do not see bikes or other vehicles, maybe in their blind spot should maybe do like wise.- Lane assist is dangerous
@KenONeill have you driven cars with Lane Keep Assist yet? You might wander off line more than you have ever realised?- Px.value
I wonder how WBAC are doing right now for people actually flogging them cars compared to those that keep checking how much they might get and keeping their car because it is worth so much and hoping they will get a good trade in or private sale. Pre Covid they will know exactly how often people check check and check again and eventually turn up to get their vehicle inspected.- Lane assist is dangerous
If @KenONeillwas right and only those that should be taking a break are drifting across roads and lanes and having a loss of concentration then there are lots of tired or exhausted drivers about. Or actually lots that really let their vehicle wander, maybe they are talking on a phone or to people in the car. Many just start off from their home or work or the shops or what ever and can not manage to place their vehicle in a lane or their side of the road.- Electric vehicles and charging
- Servicing schedules too rigid
Pollen Filters, Visual Inspections, brakes which they will say are 80% worn and rear drums they will say they have removed and cleaned while not even having removed the wheels / brake fluid, diagnostic and road test. With the Plug in Hybrids they have the TSI engines on Fixed Service Intervals. That should be 'Fixed Interval Oil & Filter changes' the service can still be variable flexible. Engines might run very very seldom if the drivers are regularly run them just short distances on electric. Plugs could last a decade plus. - Px.value
