  1. Chill, The thread is over 5 years old and there was tumbleweed blowing through before the revival.
  2. @KenONeillThey certainly seem to think so even though they have standard batteries, often the best of lights that really are not using very much energy. Reducing range driving about town is really not much of a concern to many, not something that would be likely to enter what brain cells they have. It just happens that many now with EV's seem to belong to what would have been a Blue / Pink Rinse Brigade or String Back Gloves.
  3. @Gax Your vehicle became the pinnacle of what VW Group / SKoda were trying to achieve which was lower emissions for the size and type of vehicle under the WLTP / RDE from petrol cars without being hybrid.. So 1.5 TSI but with ACT & DSG. ECO works rather differently in different drivetrains / fuels etc. Then there is load in car, weather, road surface and types, so location location location. If people just post without saying what their car is and what engine then people on their phone might not see that at the left hand side.
  4. Rather common is people vacuuming or brushing the carpet under the seat or trying to find something and then the airbag light showing.
  5. Perfectly relevant if those in traffic jams chose Eco.
  6. Reviewers that are going to keep quote the charging speed on 50 kW chargers from 10-80% should then go drive on a motorway with the EV loaded wiith people or weights and see just how far they can go starting with 80% and needing to find the next charger. So many people say they charge quickly to 80%. That is great if you are not needing to get on with your journey of some distance and not do charger to charger journeys but actually get on with your day and use the car just as a means of transport, not a whole new lifestyle of hanging about public chargers. 50 kW/ 43 kW chargers not even giving that out are a PITA, then having 100 - 100 + charging speed and only the choice of 50kW chargers is a PITA. As much a MPV as a SUV. Multiple People Carrier if 5 people at a squeeze is Multiple. Sports or Suburban Utility Vehicle covers any car really no matter how many it can seat. Time will tell who many have bikes on the roof or are towing jet ski's, quads / motorcycles etc. 99 MPH is pretty fast in a country with a 60 mph NSL (50 MPH towing) and a max 70 mph on some roads, ie Dual Carriageway / Motorway. The sooner there are more Estate Car EV's the better, better for practicality like load carrying and better for the vehicles range. Not everyone needs tall vehicles to get into, lots of people have short legs.
  7. @wyx087 Around my area there are lots of Green Flash reg plates now. They tend to go along with drivers that drive with just DRL's on when they should be putting on headlights, who do not indicate and who when driving MG's tend to dither at junctions. Probably down to so many with cars from Motability now driving EV's.
  8. ? Have you checked the connector under the seat, or did the person at the Dealership that came to look at your car, or have they not had anyone look?
  9. Funnily XL tyres in 205/40 R 17 were OEM fit to some Mk2 Fabia vRS that are 5 seaters at a push and can not tow as not approved.
  10. @skaderI would say no to 'Extended Scope' this time as the Oil & Inspection Service is expensive enough and oddly they seem to be repeating items that are in the O&I S. No way are they looking twice at the same things, then as it is unless they employ Blind Technicians or Fitters the Visual Inspection should pick up issues and 'Brake Checks' were free. Maybe get your MOT first and if any issues then maybe they are ones the Manufacturers Warranty covers. No doubt at the Service they can find your low mileage car has 80% worn disk brakes, advise you to have an AC Service, an Oil Flush and Fuel Treatment and anything else currently being Up-sold.
  11. Just spotted a medium sized DPD Electric delivery van. It had a Green flash Registration plate and a colourful wrap but no idea the make of the van. EDIT. It was one of these.
  12. Not if making Gooseberry Jam, quite essential really. They grow lots around my way.
  13. @GillySmiff ? How long is the fan actually staying on for when you switch off? It can not be until the next time you start the car because the battery would be flat and the car would not start.
  14. Audi. https://www.r744.com/audi-electric-suvs-offer-co2-mobile-heat-pump-to-boost-driving-range
  15. If VW say up to 40% and you get that it is up to 30% from Skoda then there is quite a difference. 'Up to' is like what 'Performance Air Filter' manufacturers say you might get in extra performance or Remappers / Tuning Box sellers say again about performance. VW / Skoda / Audi / SEAT do the WLTP and that is not Real life as we know nothing about the actual interior temp during testing, but VW Group must know what the 'Average range increase' or power saving is achievable with a 'Heat Pump'. Averages come from highs and lows and the bumff is just 'Up to 40%' or 'Up to 30%'. So what is the lowest you might get? http://insideevs.com/news/466416/volkswagen-winter-isnt-worry-id4 http://insideevs.com/news/460193/nextmove-heat-pump-vw-id3-less-efficient If Heat Pumps actually make them less efficient then that is an issue! But then adding weight can do that. ...................................................................................................................................... Very far from the perfect test, different software and different wheels / tyres. But then Dealerships or Manufacturers can very very easily find like for like, with just the HP difference, or can they, or will they?
  16. They are not likely to find a fault when the car is doing as a car with a TDI / DPF is doing what it is doing by the use it gets. The isuue is that it can get more common that you get a light then start getting 'Blocked DSF' lights, but again that can be pretty normal.
  17. Too many variables to claim anything. Below 0*oC by how much ambient, -5 or -10. then how much are you asking of the cars interior temp. 15*oC or 18*oC or 22*oC. In Air con threads on this forum people speak of having aircon on older cars putting out 4*oC. People put the heating to 20*oC and maybe even 25*oC, or just to Full. Personally 14*oC is the coldest i ever ask for and 18*oC the most i want. Passengers might get 20*oC if they are nice, or they can put a coat on or a hat. (My house heating thermostat stays at around 18*oC and never get put to above 20*oC) Heated Seats & Steering wheel and 16-18*oC interior temp in a car in below freezing outside temps suits me. Heating is not an issue as i find it in EV's or ICE vehicles it is steaming up and damp interiors and freezing up interiors when parked. Plugging in an pre heating cars and drying out is fandabydozy. Wind Deflectors a necessity for windows a little open.especially while charging in Blizzard like conditions, or rain or drizzle or just hot weather while staying in the car. ** When people might most need to heat cars when it is the coldest ambient temps there are countries on mainland Europe / Rest of the world or even Uk areas or Countries where Snow or Winter tyres will be fitted, that will impact range. Then roof bars and Ski's or Boards or Bike carriers will affect range, just as adding a few hundred KG in passengers and stuff.**
  18. ECO mode can suit or not suit different people in different circumstances in different vehicles with different engines and gearboxes. Hardly worth comparing apples, pears, lemons, oranges and gooseberries.
  19. PS. If you car is an early 2012 with a CAVE engine was the DSG given the Service Campaign '34F7'.? There should be a Sticker in the spare tyre well if it was done shouwing '34F7 ' and a dealer stamp and date. That would mean the Sealed for life DSG had the oil changed from Synthetic to mineral and a software update done. If the car is a late 2012 with a CTHE engine it would not have got that. If it was a 2013 car it might get '34H5' which was a Software Update. No mater which it is it needs checked to see what the noise is now in 2021.
  20. @Danz Welcome. Dealership employees can be hopeless, who was this one, a salesperson, a parts or service or a workshop manager or even a tech? You need to go to a Automatic Gearbox Specialist or a Tech or Mechanic that knows about DQ200 DSG's. They can diagnose what the issue is, is it Clutch Pack, MCU / Mechatronic control unit, selector or something else. The parts can be replaced, the 2 oils changed, or the DSG reset, or all of these can be done. The Main Dealership employee will know nothing. They say the DQ200 DSG is sealed for life as in there is no Service Regime / Schedule or Guidelines. Yet Skoda changed oil in the World Wide Recall in 2012/13 & Service Campaign in Europe from 2014/
  21. A good tech or mechanic will check the brake fluid and not just change it because of manufacturers recommendations. Things like looking at the air filter and cleaning or replacing is also about location location location and your cars use. Maybe after this service look for a good Independent and do not throw money Skoda main dealers way of a low mileage car. You need servicing to suit you not then.
  22. Lots of kidology going on regarding the EU / Europe. Lots of Orders are by Dealerships so actually the Manufacturers. The cars will get to customers new or used eventually, but first and foremost they will be 'First Registered' ASAP. They are getting ZERO Emission and Lower Emission Hybrids first registered because they are crapping themselves over the penalties if they do not reach the Average C02 g/km figures required.
  23. Welcome to the forum. It is not only an Oil Change that is due @ 3 years. What the Screen in the car shows is not correct really these days. Services are now called Oil & Inspection Services by Skoda UK. @ 3 years as well as an 'Oil & Inspection Service' you might want the Brake Fluid Changed or at least checked for H20 content. The car's manufacturers warranty runs out at 3 years unless you have it extended. You want any warranty work done, and maybe the MOT done in the month before the car is 3 years old. Was the Pollen filter changed or even looked at last year?
  24. Welcome. It is a DQ200. 7 speed twin dry clutch. That is what is fitted to 1.0, 1.2,1.4 and 1.5 TSI's & 1.6 TDI's with FWD and no more than 250 Nm. There is nothing different towing with a DSG from towing with a manual.
