Very smooth DSG gears switching after VCDS Adaptation
I am not being defensive. You asked a question i replied. The OP speaks about how they use the DQ250 to suit their needs. I have no idea if their box is back to as it was fresh from the factory or not. Happy they are happy. When i get in other peoples cars with DSG's i might drive for a bit and if they behave pooriy just do the reset without plugging in and changing anything, just the pedal reset. I have mostly driven just DSG's for 12 years now, or other auto's but never manuals. Easy enough to try and no harm done if nothing is then better. You can do the full reset if needed. http://hypermiler.co.uk/gearbox/how-to-fix-those-clunky-gear-changes-with-a-dsg-reset-vw-skoda-audi-seat-gearbox-auto

HT Leads - Skoda Fabia
Why or what leads you to changing the laeds? How often have you checked and replaced spark plugs? Was No.3 lead ever changed for the one with armour?
-
Mk3 octavia estate petrol auto - anything to watch out for?
No servicing of the DSG then if it is a 1.4TSI with a DQ200. Brake Fluid change was due at 3 years, if not done the brake fluid can be tested for H2o content. The Air Filter will need checked to see if it has been replaced / cleaned. Spark Plugs need checking and maybe replacing if no record of being done. Pollen Filter might need cleaning or replacing.

? What did you find. How old? No such thing as a Major Service with Skoda other than they used to call each 2nd service or if on Variable Servicing a Major One. Minor / interim & then a Major. So not much done year one and 2, then more year 3, different year 5 etc. Not the say Oil & Inspection Service & Extended Scope each 3 years and extras cost extra.

Disappointing wading depth
There is no way there is any manufacturers warranty that covers such things. So no need to cover their arses. VW Group do not even make clear about Haldex Servicing and do not include screen cleaning or filter replacing in the Manufacturers Recommendations. Do not Include Haldex Servicing in Service Plans and give no recommendations on Diff Servicing. Even Land Rover (90,110,130, 'Defenders') needed Gearbox Plugs and Axle Breathers if doing wading. No arse covering there as many never had them or even cared. They do try to arse cover oil use, with the 'might use as much as 0.5 litres oil in 1,000km, depending on conditions of use.' Said for every ICE vehicle 3,4,5,6 or 8 cylinder from 44kW up petrol or diesel for decades now. My 110 4.6 V8 Auto with its previous owner and builder before i got it an properly waterproofed it.

New Skoda, let’s talk mileage!
Welcome. Others will know about the values. But to servicing. FSH, or FULL MAIN DEALER SERVICE HISTORY. What was actually done? So what record is there of servicing, has the haldex been serviced 2 or 3 times now? Has the brake fluid been changed ever? Was the oil changed at 18,000-20.000 mile intervals. What are all 4 tyres like. Do they match and are they with good tread? What is the windscreen like for tiny chips or bigger chips. What about the bonnet for touchup / chips?

EVHS Scheme
Important incase people are on the phone to see that you are in Scotland. http://bpchargemaster.com/scottish-grant-information http://energysavingtrust.org.uk/grants-and-loans/domestic-charge-point-funding ? Are they just slow in adding the Octavia iV to the list. This has been the case with other models in the past.

ESC / TPS / Start stop / Front assist errors all in one go
Common to happen with a low battery. Even though your battery might seem OK there might be an issue heat related to that or the ECU or connections / earths. Hopefully a member with knowledge will be along to assist. Electricity is all black magic to me.

2020 vRS 1st oil change
The first 2 year Service was called a 'Major Service' at 24 months , 18,000-20,000 miles and that should include a Pollen Filter Change. Do not pay them an extra £35 for it if they are trying to charge you that. You could take it out, see how it looks, clean the area and vacuum the filter, and if needed replace it at a sensible cost. They will not cover the cost of the Spark Plugs at 4 years / 40,000 miles if you were having 2 major services and there £110 charge is too much, if they do them on a service plan then that is wonderful. The Brake Fluid change is due at 3 years, unlikely that is included. The Air Filter should be checked at 2 years, even cleaned, maybe do this yourself. 4 years is too long to leave an airfilter unchecked. You really want the 2nd Service before the Warranty Expires and get any warranty work doing.

So where should i start?
Ps. 2012 when the World Wide recall happened it was a service campaign only in New Zealand and was only a few hundred cars but everyone had the oil changed, a new Mechatronic Control Unit and software update.
-
So where should i start?
In China and other world regions when there was a world wide recall which excluded Europe VW group have the DQ200,s a 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty extension. So be sure to check that did not include in your country. Many in Europe that had 34F7 have needed new MCU,s since or clutch packs but that is the luck of the draw sadly. VW care nothing about owners in Europe or countries where governments or courts will not act against them.

2020 vRS 1st oil change
@vRS245MGWas it an Ex Demonstrator / Ex Management car? ??????? So how many miles at 6 months old, how many miles now, and how many days is showing to oil change being due. It must be on Variable Servicing if no Service was carried out yet so at the Service have it changed to Fixed Servicing if you want. Best for a Service Record & Body Inspection for the Paint & Corrosion Warranty have it into a Main Dealership for a Service and make sure they are Doing a Body Inspection. Written T&C's can sometimes be odd/ weird / unusual / a rip off, unwritten T&C's are not worth the paper not written on. The Service Plan you paid for was a Financial Agreement, so best have the Dealership that took the money send you the information. EDIT / PS 1.4 TSI Plug in Hybrids are supposedly due oil changes every 8,000 miles according to the VW Group / Skoda.

So where should i start?
@UrbanPanzer There were some that questioned fixing under warranty, but when you had a warranty you could argue the toss, take legal advice and action and get the fix. Trouble is that Mk2 Fabia vRS or other Mk2 Fabia with DQ200's were last produced in 2014 and some first registered in 2015. Hence 3 year Manufacturers Warranties last valid on them would be in 2018 in the UK & 2017 is some World Regions, that is unless there was an extended warranty purchased. Skoda UK have even knocked back claims by some of those with Skoda Approved Extended Warranties by them, or the Car care ltd ones. Goodwill gestures are rare when it comes to VW Group accepting that the 'known issue; and fundamental Design or manufacturing or material fault is a fault of theirs. In the United Arab Emirates the OP might have had more luck with Skoda if the car had not been part of a recall or Service Action. There were some countries where there was another 'Recall Action' carried out where the DQ200's that were not covered by '34F7' or '34H5'. ................................................................................................................................................................ DQ200's produced late 2012 are very prone to issues, covered by neither Service Campaign. (there are others between 2009-2012 and then 2013-2015. This Members Mum was lucky with her Late Build CTHE which was still covered by warranty when it leaked. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/432730-oil-leak @Sittingbullhad what is only too common an experience. His is an inbetweeny 2012 DQ200. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444617-7sp-dq200-dsg-failure

Finally going to drive my car properly for a week
@lol-lolSo he got done, and then never learned from that and did it again. All in the line of duty then though.

Finally going to drive my car properly for a week
@lol-lolHow long ago was that? One might have been an Advanced Driver in an appropriate vehicle actually testing a vehicle. There was an officer last year that got off in court with 16 charges against him when caught at 122 MPH on the way to a private meeting. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-51452107 http://mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/policeman-who-drove-private-meeting-21470928

@Richard A Thackeray It was you that posted the last line of the post i replied to and asked the question about. So where is the 'arse covering' other than the passengers arse getting wet maybe?

Fabia 1.4tdi Preparing to change flexible fuel
Mk2 Fabia 3 (A trim) were on the go for a few years before a 3rd Generation Fabia so a Mk3 Fabia. You can not turn back the clock.. The OP was moved because it was in the Hellos and goodbyes' section and not in the Fabia Section for Mk1, 2 or 3.

Disappointing wading depth
@Richard A Thackeray Who would anyone be claiming off of if they take their vehicle wading and it all goes wrong? You buy a Softroader and you get a Softroader. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/478561-ooooops An Enyaq will be pretty good for wading as long as H2o is not coming in the cabin. Ev's are generally good but you must remember when you go through floods in one that a driver behind might see you do it and think they can follow in their ICE vehicle. They might find rather soon that they can not.

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
- 2020 vRS 1st oil change
Is this the First Service on Variable / Flexible Service interval so at 18,000-20,000 miles or 24 months? ? It is not just an Oil Change, it is an Oil Service & Inspection Service. ? Or is it a Used car you bought that is set on a Fixed Service Interval? ? Does the service plan allow 2 services 2 years apart or what is the story.- So where should i start?
So common that VW Group have no interest in failures of DQ200's from 2012 in the UK / Europe that were after the Service Campaign '34F7' World Wide Recall ones that come between the 'Service Campaign' on 2013-2015 ones. '34H5'. Software Update because of Heat / Pressure issues. Obviously in Australia the courts would rip VW Group a new hole so there they do the right thing. http://caradvice.com/au/800297/new-recall-of-80000-volkswagen-audi-and-skoda-cars-with-dsg-gearboxes-some-for-the-second-time-in-six-years- Very smooth DSG gears switching after VCDS Adaptation
Because people complain about different cars behaviour from the car being new, and motoring journalists are often the ones that start it off. The DSG does not learn, but it does adapt to the drivers and it can as we see be reset. They can even be remapped to how a driver wishes it to perform. Then as to the WLTP / RDE / RDE2, VW Group were caught out after the TDI Defeat Device Scandal with DSG Defeat Devices and had to recall some models on the strength of that. They had the gearbox performing differently under test conditions and some drivers could have the DSG thinking it was test conditions. PS Australia & North America got 1.4 TSI non ACT engines with 8 speed torque converter Auto's just because of the issues sadly that DQ200 DSG's issues had and the 2019 Recall that followed the 2012/13 World Wide Recall with Service Campaigns only in Europe & then the next Recall & Service Campaign in 2017 on 2013-2015 DQ200's. Australia still had cars that the actions had been done on or missed and needed checking again. http://caradvice.com.au/800297/new-recall-of-80000-volkswagen-audi-and-skoda-cars-with-dsg-gearboxes-some-for-the-second-time-in-six-years- Grades of engine oil
I was generalising what might happen and what i have seen, not going through the oil change of the OP's vehicle by a fleet of foot dancer who might be a chancer. It is unbelievable what Large Corporations that change hands and stay in business for decades can have employees getting away with. Customers trust in them as they do at Main Dealerships and often 'Offers' are loss leaders to get the upselling opportunities.- Very smooth DSG gears switching after VCDS Adaptation
It is emitting less emissions under unrealistic tests like the WLTP, RDE & RDE2 that has the engine and gearbox management as it is. Consuming less fuel can mean emitting less pollution. Maybe not actually as people drive the cars in the real world though, and how they want the car to drive.- Grades of engine oil
Only really a problem if you do not ask or have not the powers of speech or hearing. You ask, and if it is specialist oils then that is what it needs and if they are charging for basic oil at extra cost then you can say tara. If people are going to have people take advantage of them then that is an issue for them. - 2020 vRS 1st oil change
