  1. That should clean up lovely!
  2. Yes that's the stuff. A lot of people rate it quite well. And it's also available in Halfords which is a bonus as you don't have to order it online and have to pay for carriage which is the case with a lot of other products people would recommend.
  3. I imagine this would be the case, providing you have all the right products to be able to remove the cr*p. And considering it hasn't been washed in 7 years, it really doesn't look as dirty as you imagine it would.
  4. I have literally just bought some 303 High Tech Fabric Guard, http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/303-high-tech-fabric-guard/prod_175.html, to try and protect my seats. Was having a look at reviews and they are all really good. Will be using it over the weekend so will let you know how I get on then. As for applying I think it's just a case of spraying on and leaving overnight.
  5. A lambswool will definitely be an improvement over a cheapo sponge, and will do far less damage to that paint. So that would be worth while. A lot of people use the two bucket method, one bucket with the shampoo in, then another to rinse all the cr*p off in. Although I'm one of the few who doesn't use this method as I've never really had any problem with just using one bucket
  6. I haven't a clue what I would recommend for just £30, Probably just regular washing with something like Meguiars Gold Glass
  7. One of the guys here at work has had his car 7 years, he has never washed it since buying it. I wish I was joking but I'm not :(
  8. In simple terms it's believable. But if angel wax are a company who produce for other firms, the last thing they would do is give out the formula. And for AF to find out the formula themselves it can be an expensive process. Far outweighing the benefits of doing so. You will have to let us know how you get on with whatever wax you choose. Even though I'm trying to refrain from buying anymore wax :(
  9. Despite the whole rumor over it, I would be very very surprised if it was the same wax. Supposedly they took the wax from Angelwax and went and got their own made up. But working in the chemical industry I know you would need very deep pockets to do this, so I think the rumors are somewhat far fetched. I've also just started using a few Chemical Guys waxes, Pete's 53 and 50/50, have been really impressed with both of those.
  10. Auto Finesse Desire as a recommenedation for your high end but durable
  11. I've replaced them, fluoro-lined silicone hose.
  12. I didn't have any of those problems at all.. and it needed emptying every few weeks which isn't too bad.
  13. I did this to start with as this is what a lot of other people done to stop recirculating anything at all. But the baffle in the catch can isn't 100% efficient so I was still getting a slight oily vapor coming from the filter. So now I just recirculate it again, like so.
  14. As Sparkly said the Purple Monster Microfibers are brilliant, I absolutely love them  These are the ones I have: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/microfibre-cloths/microfibre-buffing-towels/monster-microfibre-purple-monster-pkg/3/prod_1303.html I also have Auto Finesse Revive which I find normally lasts a good few weeks on trim, It also provides a good bit of beading too. Not used any of the other products so can't comment on those, but the Sonax BSD is raved about pretty much everywhere.
  15. Well finally got round to doing my Fabia ready for putting it up for sale. More or less used the same products as on the BMW above. Only real change was that I used CG's Pete's 53 rather than the CG's 50/50. Black paint be a pain in the ass as marring/scratches show up so easily and it can look dreadful, but it feels incredibly rewarding once finished Picking up the replacement for the Fabia on Saturday so that will be getting the full treatment too in due course. Also used Chemicaly Guys V7 for the first time on the Octavia, very impressed with it and is now one of my favourite products, adds a much deeper shine to the paintwork than previous QD's that I've used, will be interesting to see what sort of added protection it offers. No pictures of this though unfortunately.
  16. I treat it a bit like a hobby, I think that's just about the only way I can justify it Am I still welcome along to the hut meet in a non Skoda?
  17. It's for an ASZ, but would fit a BLT fine with an egr delete.
  18. For sale is a brand new Turbo Dynamics MDX446 Stage 2 Hybrid for the 1.9tdi PD130. Had bought this to put on my Fabia, but have now decided to sell the car so this is no longer needed. Literally have only opened the box and packaging to have a look and has then been sat in my room since. Turbo was built on the 02/12/13 so has just under 9 months left on the Turbo Dynamics warranty. It also includes a gasket kit that was supplied with the kit. Link to turbo on their website: http://www.turbodynamics.co.uk/shop/mdx446-stage-2-hybrid-turbo-for-vag-19tdi-130bhp-engines-p-4858.html As you can see on their website this usually retails at £882.00 including VAT. I'm after £695.00 £650.00 Including next day postage to mainland UK and Scotland, can post elsewhere but would have to get a cost.
  19. Another delivery...
  20. I'm rather tied up over the next few weeks but should be able to sort something out after that, I'll try pop along to the next hut meet and see what I think.
  21. Had planned to clean my Fabia today, But dad picked up a new car yesterday so I done that for him instead. Products used: Auto Finesse Citrus Power Auto Finesse Iron Out Auto Finesse Imperial Chemical Guys Citrus Wash Clear Auto Finesse Clay and Glide M205 and Lake Country Hydrotech Finsihing Pad Poorboys Blackhole Auto Finesse Tough Coat Chemical Guys Connoisseur 50/50 Auto Finesse Crystal First time using the M205 and Lake Country Pad, very impressed with the results it gave.
  22. I didn't have too many products at the time as I was at the stage of going from just car cleaning to car detailing so to say. So a 3 for 2 offer seemed like a good way of getting most types of products I would need. Which is how I ended up with such a collection of Auto Finesse. Since then I have started branching out to a few other brands and products and oppose to just Auto Finesse.
