  1. These exact ones are from an Alfa Romeo Brera, but they can also be found on the Alfa Romeo Spyder. Not sure if anyones ever fitted them to a fabia before.. They were made by these guys. www.earls.co.uk If you talk to them they should be able to help you out
  2. Well got home yesterday to find a rather nice delivery... Brembos! My front discs and pads both needed replacing so made sense to upgrade now. Freshly refurbished calipers, they look like new though. Although they aren't the normal LCR brembos which people normally fit. These are monobloc whereas LCR ones arent These also run 312mm discs rather than 323mm. Going to be fitted with mintex pads and ebc discs, and also fitting custom made brake lines.
  3. Thanks for the offer! 2 hour drive from me though.. If im ever going to be that way though I'll take you up on the offer what do you think of the stage 2 though? worth it?
  4. Definitely going to spend some time reading up on it more so I've got a good understanding of it before starting. And probably wont bother with a practice panel either, if I mess it up then so be it! That's a shame especially as you had it all set aside! But that's life I guess..
  5. Just had a quick browse on there, Seems to be a DA will be safer for a beginner so I'll probably head down that route, also found a guide on machine polishing which will come in helpful! Thanks! Your ideas are exactly the same as mine! I'd love a full stage 2, but that wont be happening anytime soon. And I had recently been looking to see if funds would allow for seat surgeons leather sometime soon.. ! fortunately i'm not needing to buy a new house, wouldn't mind a skiing holiday though..! (I can ski but not board)
  6. Machine polishing is completely new territory to me, So i'm rather clueless about it all. I'm still rather worried about getting it wrong and f**cking up the paintwork with it! I recon for a respray you would probably be looking more between £1000-£1500 depending on the condition of paintwork. Always worth looking around for a reputable paint shop though. And what other toys do you have in mind of adding??
  7. I never knew that! that explains the colour of it then. Was still too dirty for my liking though. And Opie Oils have 30% off their Castrol Edge range + forum discount of 10%, so it was a really good price. So bought two 4L rather than a 4L and a 1L I almost treat the car as a hobby, so I do spend a large amount of time looking after it and doing things to it. My mates think i'm obsessed! Well your missus is free to lick the paint if shes wants.. although I'm not sure it will taste that good.. the wax I use does smell like liquorice though so it may do! It is a relatively big expense, but luckily I have family in the car trade. The average price of a vrs when I bought mine was about £4500. My dad had just took the vrs as a px, I bought it from him at trade price (£3000) then had it resprayed at trade price (£900). So overall I still spent less than the retail price of vrs's at the time. Not 100% happy with the paintwork though, the paintshop never spent enough time polishing out the paint after it was sprayed. So next year I need to invest in a DA Polisher to get the paint completley perfect!
  8. Not really done a great deal in terms of maintenance since owning the car. So thought I would change over the oil and brake fluid. All supplied by Opie Oils I didnt think my cabin filter was that bad, but thought I would add one onto the order anyway. But then when comparing them side by side..

  10. I had a similar sort of sound. Couldn't hear it on smooth roads but could on most other roads, and even more so when driving slow or over speed bumps. The noise stopped after I replaced front top mounts and bearings.
  11. They smarten up the engine bay a bit, and went for black to keep it subtle.

  13. Well had a few problems with the car today. Ended up having to flush all the coolant system out, then filling it back up and draining it down again a few times to get it all perfect. While I was doing it all I replaced some of the coolant hoses and put all new coolant in. And the expansion tank isn't looking good, so going to get a new one. On a positive though got some brembos ordered
  14. As above.. A good shot and would work great as an advert. Very cool!
  15. Nice to see some more members in the southampton area!
  16. Hes a top guy. He was happy to help me in deciding what I wanted/needed when I was rather clueless. Hes currently sorting it out now.. Cant wait!
  17. Got a free sticker with an order so stuck it on the battery cover.
  18. Took some pictures.. Also put some sound proofing on the back of the door card to stop any vibrations. MASSIVE Slim Series SK6 - 6.5" 2 Way Components Pioneer AVH-2400BT Hertz HDP 4 Hertz Energy ES 250.4
  19. Picked the car up today from having the audio upgraded. The difference in sound quality is incredible, cant believe I waited so long to do it. A list of the parts fitted. Pioneer AVH-2400BT Hertz HDP 4 Amp Massive Slim Series SK6 - 6.5" Hertz Energy ES 250 Sub Both front components amped. And front doors sound proofed. I'll get some pictures later as pictures speak a 1000 words. Then in January the car is going back to have a proper boot build install, and then hopefully to be featured in a car audio magazine.
  20. The light has a black lever on the bottom, when the glove box is closed the black lever is pushed which breaks the contact and turns off the light, which you should be able to see in the pics below.
  21. I cant remember exactly what it was, but I remember reading something about certain cars naturally pull slightly to the left so when you drift you drift to the left (curb) rather than right (oncoming traffic)..
