  1. Cheers TomVrs, I had done exactly that Doh! Took it out tonight and saw exactly what you said it showed the small 1 beside the readout briefly flicked the switch and changed to a 2 Thanks again:thumbup:
  2. I used to reset it on the wiper stalk after filling up then tell avg Mpg and how far I am getting to a tank, only started resetting the other day??
  3. My Mk1 Octy Vrs has developed a habit where when left locked overnight or at work all day, when I start the car I notice that the trip meter has reset itself ( distance covered , average MPG and time taken) any ideas anybody?
  4. The older BMW diesels had a tendancy to do this and once started would just rev uncontrollably past the redline until they ran out of oil and engine imploded! Once this starts you have very little chance of stopping it. Best advice stand well back to avoid the smoke and put your fingers in your ears when it goes bang:eek:
  5. Hi Gary, Welcome from a fellow Glaswegian:thumbup:
  6. Another vote for the Osram Silverstars:thumbup: Also changed fogs for Osram's with yellow tint can't remember type.
  7. First thing I would do is to change the bulb, mine did same thing and new bulb cured it
  8. Hi Guys, I too have Aquapel on my car yet I applied it to side windows and rear screen and a strip down side of windscreen. I dont use motorway as part of my day to day driving, so find it more practical on side windows as anywhere near 30 mph it beads and flows off side windows Not 100% certain over using on windscreen certainly noticeable that has been applied to part of screen, but same part seems to smear when wipers are used:thumbdwn: Devonutopia, Do you find this after using on all of the screen especially at lower speeds before airflow takes effect?
  9. Cheers Guys, I stil have standard intake was just worried in case intake was tucked down behind bumper. The amount of flooding up here is wild, I am doing "rally splashes" even at 10 mph.
  10. I am looking to see if anyone can tell me where the air intake is on the Mk1 Vrs? Scotland is currently doing a good impression of a swiming pool, and just want to know if I should be worried about traversing floods and sucking in water:eek: Has anyone ever heard of Vrs being prone to flood water damage?
  11. I had one break down on me last winter when it was -7 outside, nursed it to work called out asistance who eventually had to tow me to local dealer as it was running like Micheal Schumacher's Ferrari in final qualifying last night he he:P
  12. 18" RS6 for me Definately look great when clean:O I must try to lay off the brakes more:rofl:

  14. Came back to car today to discover some nice person! has parked their siver door in my N/S wing and disappeared without being nice enough to tell me:mad: The dent is right into the feature line at the wheelarch so it aint even an option for smart repair:( anyone know price of wings these days?
  15. Hi Freakcrab, I am not sure of the contact No but there is a company in Glasgow called Direct Cooling try in Yellow Pages. I think they might be able to come out give it a try:thumbup:

  17. I have had the privelage of spending time on the track on 3 difererent days under the tution of 3 professional race drivers, who rated my driving as good. After driving with these people I have found all aspects of my driving changed! from basic things such as driving position through every aspect of my driving from there:correct line through bends at high speed, braking and acceleration, etc. So I guess I would rate myself as above average or am I being bigheaded:D
  18. I have my seat adjusted at its lowest setting and the fore/aft adjustment set so that when you depress the clutch your hamstring is just touching the seat base. The backrest is set at a fairly upright position with the headrest tilted forward. The steering wheel is adjusted so that when you are sitting with your back flat against the backrest you should be able to place your right wrist on the uppermost edge of the steering wheel. I was given this advice on seating position by a rally driver so that you are never overstretching when manouvering even at high speed! The other thing they did say as the driving instructors on here will testify is that the old 10 to 2 or 1/4 to 3 really works!
  19. The Volkswagen arm of the group has been in trouble for a while with diminishing sales, think back to last year when Porsche acquired a 20% share in the group to protect VAG from rumoured hostile takeover to protect their longstanding partnership. and now two of the Porsche board are seated on the VAG board. As far as imposing cuts in Skoda's budget it would be commercial suicide, Skoda have been showing the rest of the group how it should be done for the last couple of years for example MkII Octy Vrs v Golf GTI. Quick question, when VAG put out tender for design for Bentley Continental GT correct me if I am wrong but was it not found in Skoda design studios???
  20. Hi and welcome, One of my workmates also rallies a felicia 1.3,
