  1. I fitted my CAI last night and was about to ask the same question, then I see this post Ps, love the sound of the CAI :):) So, is it worth taking the bumper off, then taking the right side grill out to drill it properly? (if this is possible?) Ps, pics would be cool.
  2. Has anyone else got the autodata CD? is it money well spent? Ive been wanting something like a haynes manual for a little while now, but as its such good quality!!! i dont think i will bother.....
  3. Hi Been a while since i orignally posted this, and finally today i have ordered my wheels     shock!!! Ive gone for the Golf R32's, everyone seems to have RS4's around here, but no one has the R32's All in with upgraded tires and top notch locking wheels nuts.
  4. Thanks for all the help guys, i know ive asked some stupid questions, but im learning
  5. Just had a look on the car, the one on the right is sealed off, only 4 of the diamonds are out. Is there an easy way to take this out without wrecking the bumper?
  6. Sorry, on the VRS there is a vent under the light for air to get there?
  7. Just the one question now then, where does the CAI get its air from, looking where it goes (under the light) i cannot see how it would get much? (sorry have to ask the dumb questions so other people dont have to )
  8. ohh didnt see that, have PM him. Cheers Sarah. If its a no go then will get eBay one!!!
  9. Just spotted these pics on a Hungarian site!!! i want one
  10. der!! sorry, typed it in a hurry as match was on and wanted to post before it started So after all that, its the 800bhp one that is the correct one? Also, any comment on where it goes?
  11. Ok, had a look on me car, the pipe goes from the airbox along the front of the engine and then down, but cannot see where it ends up though. Also, looking where this CAI goes when fitted, it looks like it wont get any air in there?? there is a space under the headlight, but how does air get there? the std one disappears into the left front wheel arch??? Think i need to get myself a haynes manual or something
  12. ok so im an idiot So going back to my original post, do i get the 800bhp one or the other one with the extra filter?
  13. ok, i want to understand what this blue pipe does in the pic, from looking at it, its connected to that black pipe that goes off somewhere else (not looked on the car yet so dont know) so what is the black pipe for? I assume here, that its any excess mixture that is put back into the inlet pipe to be burnt again? hence the car has a recirc setup? if thats the case, then why vent this out with an additional filter? or have i got this completely wrong and now look like a complete idiot
  14. from what i have read they are high up near the light, so unless you are going through a flood they should be fine, i also think you shouldnt drill out the front bumper (left side) to allow more air in as this will also allow more water in if your worried about this. Personally i dont go anywhere where it wouldnt get more than a inch high...... Im gonna get one of the eBay ones, and want to order this next week. The noise is the main reason, but there also cheap just love it but which one to get? did the one from 800bhp have the extra filter? and what is this for? Cheers
  15. Would be nice, but they cost alot:(
  16. Hi Little confused, I know some people have expensive CAI's, but ive been reading alot of old posts about CAI's and the eBay one comes well recommended. (I know some people will disagree, but here is one of the posts where it is recommended: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/general-car-chat/ebay-cai/38569/?highlight=CAI) So been looking, and the people on here that have the eBay one seem to have the one from 800bhp, and in my other post about CAI's i was given a link to view one on eBay, i then emailed 800bhp and he gave me a different link to one on eBay??. This is where im confused. Below are the 2 links, both CAI's are for the Octavia 1.8t, but they look different? the pipe looks about the same, but the filters are different and the one from 800bhp doesnt have the extra filter? Is this something that is needed for the Octavia? Which is the correct one before i order? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COLD-AIR-INDUCTION-INTAKE-1-8T-GOLF-JETTA-GTI-OCTAVIA_W0QQitemZ170004209448QQihZ007QQcategoryZ36680QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Cold-Air-Induction-Kit-1-8T-GOLF-A3-OCTAVIA_W0QQitemZ300003715477QQihZ020QQcategoryZ36680QQcmdZViewItem Any help would be great, just want to make sure i get the right one. Thanks Gav
  17. nice is it a thing to have 19" alloys on a yellow car? got another 2 pics saved with 19's
  18. cheers for the advise guys, Ive already pm beretta, so fingers crossed he is selling as that will save some hassle vrs si - have sent pm.
  19. Hi Right, took a while but finally pulled my finger out of my **** and asked my insurers if i can fit ones of these, yep, no extra cost So, order time, the ebay one looks good. Price wise too, so is it possible to fit another filter if that one is crap? Is it a pain to fit? any bodging or cutting required or is it a straight forward job? what about water ingress? or crap on the filter as looking under the bonnet the std one seems to go into the nsf wing? Also, ive read on another post that you can simply fit a 3" hose and put a cone filter on it?? although looking at the pic for the ebay one, there is alot more to it? Is it ok to fit a CAI to a standard car, ie, does the exhaust have to be upgraded? what about the fueling, will the air/fuel ratio be out? will the ecu automatically adjust this? any need to change the fuel from SUL? is the std DV ok? One last question, is fitting a panel filter the same thing, ie noise wise? Sorry for so many questions, want to make sure that fitting one is not gonna mess the car up :( Cheers
  20. looks like most people have the std 17" alloys, hmm, thats got me thinking......... i thought it would be a different result!! ie, more different styles??
  21. nice Phil, you wouldnt happen to have pic's of the RS4 or RS5 would ya, be interested to see them Seen quite a few vRS's round my way, but all are std 17" guess its cos it looks good
  22. Hi Just a bit curious about what size wheels people have on there cars, are 18" the way forward, or are 17" still a good size to have??? do you have standard wheels or something a bit special? If you select what size and what style piccys would be nice to Cheers
