for 30 quid you could buy a fault code scanner, or vcds lite and a cable

assuming they are the same age/mileage, the honda is going to fetch a bit more and probably be easier to sell all the power from a honda comes at the top end, great fun ragging it but boring and underpowered at low revs, and they drink petrol

when does it get hot? uphill? could be head gasket. leaking water pump possibly iirc it takes 4.5 litres to fill from empty so if youve put 4 litres in it must have only had 500ml of coolant in it. now its full take it for a spin (up to temp) and then squeeze top and bottom rad hoses, if they are pressurized it may suggest head gasket, if top is hot and bottom is cold may be water pump

to be fair, i didnt come across as i meant to there, what i meant was as far as strengthened bottom end was concerned i didnt realise the bam/amk engines had the larger wrist pins etc. i thought the differences were in the top end. the minor differences are endless as i found when going from an AUQ to an AUM, different sensors, connections etc. also didnt realise they used lower compression pistons. 350bhp safe on standard rods?? bigger wrist pins or not i think thats pushing it a bit personally -

ah fair play i thought that was the agu engine 220ish is what bill said was expected without ringing the neck of the turbo. set up is fine imo -

Really? Whats different? I think bottom end is the same, just different turbo, injectors and intercooler 210bhp is keen for stage 1 to say the least- i have stage 2 custom map from badger5 making 219.5bhp with all supporting mods OEM valve is fine (and best) unless you go for big power -

been to badger 5 today! 183 bhp on the first run 219.5 on the last, loads of torque though pulls really well cant recommend badger 5 enough, really nice people, nearly 4 hours and about 10 dyno runs until bill was happy with the delivery. Well worth the wait the car pulls so well now, Torque FTW

i got mine from a guy on VAG talk called michael sealey, hes always breaking lcr's
-
no the vrs seats didnt have airbags just a wire on the drivers seat for the seatbelt clasp, bonus really as now i dont get the 5 bongs every time i start the car, wish id known that before i would have unplugged it lol i would say get them mate i prefer them to any other mk4 platform seats ive sat in, seem a bit wider than the audi recaros i had in my a3 and certainly much better than the crap skoda put in
-
slightly heavier if anything as they have airbags, really not much in it though. Loads more comfortable and supportive
-
what intake did you go for?

got the interior out this morning and took out the carpet right pain in the arse to get the carpet out, but the new one went straight in then got the lcr seats fitted and the colour coded grill back on just waiting for my new badges to on and thats probably it till christmas. (apart from mapping) got a fault code today p1296 so will replace both coolant temp sensors tomorrow. Booked in at badger 5 on friday morning so will post up the graph when i get home

one of the coil packs decided to pack up over the weekend, had to get one from a vw dealer near work £35! thieving ****ers. bought a tatty bumper with the widemouth mod already done, added some mesh yesterday and stuck it on the car today https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/1471802_10202608409441217_565553800_n.jpg looks a bit ****e as in my haste i used guttering silicone which doesnt go off lol, so got crap everywhere. ive got my other (mint) bumper in the garage and some better quality mesh so i can do it again properly, just needed to get this done before its mapped on friday. took the chome part of the grill off to colour code, will add a pic when its done

why not just buy part worn tyres in the correct size. £30 ish a corner for decent tyres, correct speedo readings etc. If you get lower profile narrower tyres you wont save any fuel, what you gain in drag reduction you lose with increased rpm at any given speed
